The highlights were definitely the super friendly staff and the amazing breakfast. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is 4-star hotel standard. I didn't even get to try everything on offer over three days... and I tried (well, smoked salmon isn't quite my choice, but I'm sure it is for some). The ingredients are high quality...I don't think I've had better bacon, certainly not in England where it is mostly water. Large, well equipped communal kitchen. It is a travesty that this hostel will close after is knocked down due to the impact of subsidence from the local mine.
There is only one shower for all of the hostel dorms, which leads to congestion in the morning. The shower room plumbing is pretty rough, with the holes in the fibreglass that the pipes go though looking like they have been made with a hammer rather than a saw, and remaining unfinished. Similarly a number of the electrical fittings are hanging off the wall. I can understand why the hostel is not spending money to fix these, but it would surely fail a health and safety inspection.

I had booked a bed in a 6 beds dorm and ended up having a four beds room for myself, and a lot of my friends had similar experiences without any added fees. It was really nice to be able to sleep alone. The beds were comfortable and the room warm (which in Kiruna in winter is GREATLY appreciated). Also there was a sink in the room allowing you to clean in the comfort of your own room. Finally, the breakfast was definitely a highlight of the trip: really worth it!
The locks (the ones you use with the key card) looked a little torn and used. The wifi was not that great (but I was on the 4th floor, my friend on the lower floors said it was working well). The bathrooms to take shower could have been a little warmer.

Breakfast room was awesome, huge variety of food and drinks. The staff was absolutely efficient and nice, always available for the clients. We didn't have any problem with the accommodation. Also very helpful regarding suggestions on what to visit. Sauna was amazing as well!
The room was nice, maybe a bit small for six people, there was only a small locker per person and not much room for luggage, in case one chose to stay for a longer period. But I have to say the overall accommodation was worth the price. Beds were warm and comfy :)

Very warm hearted welcoming. The staff is international, so you always find something to talk. The rooms are as offered. We chose a small one 10m², it was just fine for us. Very clean, very nice decorated. The food is amazing, the buffet has lots of different fish, cheese and cold cuts to offer, maybe even a bit to much. We also ate lunch and dinner there. It is a delite. The food is very good, nice portion, nice atmosphere in the restaurant
We were 10 days in Kiruna, which seems to be unusal. Anyway, it would have been nice, if they would swipe the room floor once in a while. For the environement, it would be better to exchange only every second or third day towels, not on daily basis. We put the "Do not disturb" sign on the door, but one day it disappeared and we had the exchange on a daily basis again. It is sad to see it go in two month, due to city movement.

We loved the breakfast! The dinning area is super nice with a beautiful view of the sunset over the church and the buffet is full of options. We were having such big breakfasts that we actually never had lunch. It has a cozy sauna. There is a sink in the private rooms.
You have to make your own bed. Not all showers have soap. First night recepcionist was not happy about us asking things about Kiruna, he was not helpful at all (but yes the rest of the staff the next days!)

Excellent staff and atmosphere. Wonderful concept of having some rooms more like a hotel room and others more like a hostel. The restaurant menu is amazing with really fresh, authentic Spanish dishes. My daughters were treated with respect and given a chance to try new foods at a child discount. The room was perfect, just needed a bit of dusting but nothing that made it unclean.
I must be honest but it's not the fault of the owners. We wanted to try the dried reindeer meat from the minibar and though the bag had an expiration date for two months in the future the entire bag was full of mildew covered dried meat. I believe this was an error from the factory and yet I mention it so you can perhaps check any other food items you have in stock just in case they too are no longer edible. I realize the pandemic also made your turn around slower for some items so this could be a factor as well.

Godly selection of breakfast with actual taste! Vibe and common areas! Shared kitchen was actually clean and organized. Sarcastic jokes of staff. There's a chance of a free upgrade instead of a cancellation if they have fully booked dorms? That's how u know an honest hostel! Free coffee & tee at all time!
Just sauna not being hot enough and only until 8pm, but I'm still happy there's one at least!

Breakfast is amazing, there is a complementary sauna and atmosphere is good. It is a little run down, restaurant isclosed and the center is nearly empty, but.... (I figured this out last day, the lady at check in forgot to tell me) the whole city center is moving / moved. The hotel us being rebuild 4km away next to the new city center. They will also open the restaurant there again.

Breakfast was great, staff were helpful and it was a good location (for the Old Town).
There was only one shower on the basement level that was available. A lot of the old town is or has been closed due to the move to the new town - this is no reflection on the property but just a heads up for travellers relying on online maps etc. It would be great if the local public transport offered a free shuttle between the old and new town centre.

Spis was a really good value. It was the cheapest private room I could find in the area. The breakfast was delicious and the people were all very nice. The beds were comfy and clean.
My only objection is that the bathroom had a slightly sulfurous smell coming from it, not an issue if you closed the door, and the location in Old Kiruna feels a little like a ghost town.
