The place is simply beautiful, naturally so, not overdone. All staff were very professional. We were there in the summer, when the surrounding trees provide a great barrier, a sort of aesthetic cacoon, from the ugly concrete buildings very close by. Believe it or not, this is the slow season for the hotel, since most travellers want to be closer to the lake, and the hotel takes its annual vacation (closed for two weeks or so) in the summer. The manager told us that the location is especially beautiful in the winter snow, when they offer fires, real fires with real wood! Sounds lovely, but I wonder what it looks like without the wonderful barrier of summer trees. And the walk, immediately adjacent to the hotel, along the river, displaying old mill wheels, is very nice, though in summer a bit stinky.

Not really a fault, but this place is not easy to find, in part I think because roads are vertically layered (overpasses, underpasses) in this immediate area, which can confuse a GPS system. Certainly ours. We had to do some circling around to finally arrive. There is a sign indicating the hotel at the top of the final approach, but it is easy to miss, as we did at least once. If local ordinances allow for it, I would suggest something more prominent.

Quiet, charming, old fashion hotel. Room was spacious, no air con but nice temperature at night, enjoying the fresh air coming from the small wood surrounding the property. 20/25 minutes walking distance from the Collegiale and City centre. Breakfast and wifi were good. The young lady working at the reception has been very helpful with my requests and sorting out a few small problems in my room. Particularly appreciated the free bus pass and vouchers provided for museums and lake cruise as everything is so expensive in Switzerland.

The hotel was very nice. The manager, Edward, was wonderful. Dinner at the restaurant was one of the finest meals we have ever had and we are foodies.

The location of the hotel is a bit strange. It's somewhat industrial. We used the complimentary bus transportation. The bus stop is a short walk but not a walk I would want to make after dark. Nonetheless if I ever returned to the area I wouldn't hesitate to stay here.

Due to its unusual and attractive location, ours was very much an unusual experience. We recommend the walk around the hotel. A bit out of the way perhaps, but our SatNav got us to all the places that we wanted to visit. The room was smallish but adequate, the sound of the water cascading into the gorge twenty metres below our window most enjoyable. The continental breakfast was good, the lady who was in charge of it spoke at least three languages fluently and was very helpful.

I had been under the impression that there would be a coffee maker in the room. Unfortunately, this only applies to some of the rooms. However, the manager made good with a small bottle of wine. The restaurant menus appeared somewhat expensive but then Neuchatel offers dozens of decent alternatives.

Breakfast, nature and the personnel were excellent. It was really impressive how polite and helpful were all of them at any request we had. The restaurant was also excellent but it is very expensive. I would like to have the option for some plates in better prices (even more comfort food) in order to enjoy more meals as a guest of the hotel.

The windows need to be refurbished. It was not easy to open them or to leave them open with a protection for the night in order to enjoy the fresh air of the place. Generally some furniture need to be replaced or refurbished.

The entire hotel has so much charm, down to the smallest details, everything perfectly thought out. We had a room on the back side facing the stream, because of the nice weather we were having, it was quite hot and the room stayed very cool. The view out all the windows was amazing, like alone in the country yet in the city, trees everywhere. We ate dinner at the hotel and the food was fantastic, so creative and beautiful to look at as well as tasty. The service was great and worked so well as a team together. We were able to take the bus everywhere we wanted to go in Neuchatel and didn’t use our car at all, that was super. All the staff were so friendly and helpful, you felt right at home immediately, thanks so much! We definitely will return again!

Multiple times staying in this hotel when going to the office. To my surprise I got upgrade this time to room nr4 which turned out to be beautiful and spacious room with big bath. Its a nice and cozy place, good breakfast, friendly stuff. Well-equipped bathroom with all thats needed. Walking distance to city center of Neuchatel. I will stay again :) Free parking outside is a huge bonus.

The staff are so nice and the location is so unexpected! Like a hideaway, you dont feel in the city at all. Beautiful rooms!

The room definitely needs a fan in the summer heat. It was very, very hot. We could open the windows but then we heard the train going by. This was the only negative and we would definitely come and stay again.

It’s an amazing house, with amazing restaurant and very good breakfast - in one of the most surreal settings you can imagine :). The lovely gorge, the peace, the dramatic water views - with a lovely building setup and impeccable service. Just make sure you are comfortable with the exact location.
