Welcoming friendly staff who are alert and prompt to requests, like the room cleaning service and restaurant service. Hearty Asian and western breakfast. Good location - close to eateries and beach. The well maintained garden is an attractive pit stop for various kinds of birds if you are a bird watcher. The list of birds I have spotted and taken photos in the garden includes the Eurasian Hoopoes, the Chestnut headed bee eater, the Coppersmith Barbet and the usual Mynas, European Tree Sparrow, yellow vented bulbul and the occasional Oriental Magpie Robin. Also heard but not easy to see is the red eyed Coulcal.

My wife and I rested at your hotel October 10-22, 2023, room No. 7494. We have previously vacationed in Khao Lak several times, in different hotels, and we can say with confidence that “The Leaf Oceanside by Katathani Resort” is a wonderful hotel, one of the best we have ever visited! Our impressions: Rooms: large, clean, equipped with everything you need (TV, refrigerator, air conditioning). The air conditioning worked great, no noise. We had a huge balcony overlooking the garden and pool. Large clean bathroom. Service: Every day room cleaning, replenishment of bottled water, tea and coffee. Bed linen is changed frequently. Every day replenishment of shampoo and shower gel, toilet paper, change of towels. Territory: large, well-groomed. Beautiful green lawns. Lots of palms and tropical trees. In the evening, treat the area against mosquitoes. Two swimming pools with fountains, sun loungers and umbrellas. The houses and grounds are quiet, calm and comfortable. Breakfast: served in the restaurant from 06:00 to 10:00. Breakfast is varied and plentiful, with many European and Asian dishes. Fruits, juices. Staff: beyond praise! The staff is very friendly, very responsive, very professional! They helped me find a bouquet of flowers for my wife's birthday. Thanks a lot, everyone! Location from the center of the village – 600-700 meters. Restaurants, shops, massage parlors - all within walking distance. Beach: 150-200 meters to Nang Thong Beach. Excellent sandy beach with a gentle slope. Palm trees, magnolias, cassowary trees on the shore. A lighthouse in the sea diversifies the landscape. This beach is influenced by the tides. Deeper beaches are located 1-1.5 km to the right and left of Nang Thong Beach. Vacation impression: EXCELLENT! Our rating: 5 points out of 5! I recommend The Leaf Oceanside by Katathani Resort to everyone for a relaxing, measured holiday. Thank you very much for a wonderful holiday.

Not intimity in the rooms near the other building, too close, we could see the neighbour all the time, so we keeped our courtains always closed

Excellent value for money. Location was great, only a short stroll to beach and 10 min walk to main road with shops and restaurants. Breakfast was good with a nice selection. The Thai food at the restaurant was excellent for dinner. Pool was nice and the smoothies were excellent, especially by the pool.

Temperature in both pools was too high. This should be much cooler. Staff were very friendly but English communication was a challenge at times. There was far too much noise with maintenance, renovations, gardening etc during the day. Guests should be able to enjoy some peace and quiet during the day and not constant machinery in operation.

Gardens immaculate and spacious, plenty of sunbeds, low rise buildings, spacious room with large balcony. 2 mins walk to beach, very helpful front desk and housekeeping staff. Peaceful atmosphere. Lots of eating places within a short walk on well lit streets.

Restaurant extremely slow service for evening meals and in our opinion some staff needed more training and supervision to provide a more professional service. Breakfast options could be more varied in western food options and black tea wasn't always available.

A lovely hotel situated within easy 10 mins walk to main street and great restaurants (special shout out to Go Pong...yummy!) A really peaceful place to spend a few days. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice and such lovely attentive staff . No issues getting a sun lounger. Good location in Khao Lak for tours. 1 hour from Khao Sok (a must!) and boat trips to the wonderful Similan or Surin Islands can be taken from just 15 mins transfer to the pier. Beach 3 mins from front of hotel. Turn left out of entrance and wander to Smile for the best massage.

Only one minor thing would be the ability to use TV to cast or log into accounts to watch things which we found in other places we stayed at. Always helpful for those days it rains!

Great apartments, only 5 mins walk away from a lovely, large, sandy beach and 5-10 mins walk aways from lots of shops, restaurants, bars and massage places. The apartments are well maintained, beds are very comfortable, the bathroom has a modern shower and all apartments are embedded in a wonderful garden and pool area with lots of place to relax. The stuff is super friendly and the hotel restaurant offers a great variety of breakfast options as a buffet included in the booking price. You can also use a small gym and do the laundry for a small extra cost. We can highly recommend this hotel in Khao Lak as we truly enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely nothing

2024 smokers still can't respect other people. To get a higher grade you need to make the pool area non smoking.

The resort is very beautiful, especially the pool side and the garden.

The receptionists could be more smiling and accommodating but I found this in other properties in Thailand so I guess it is a thai thing after all which is fine. Our room was not the one we booked in the garden and we were put in a different one without being informed. When we pointed out to them they claimed they upgraded our stay and the room was actually bigger than the one we booked. However the room was by the pool and more noisy than those in the garden and with a less natural and green view. We weren't bothered about the size of the room and felt patronised by the receptionist by telling us that without even offering an apology instead.

Small hotel. Well maintained. Good breakfast. Relaxed. Very close to the beach.

No fans in the room. Only A/C.
