5 years ago we were here, but then it was Asthera Sathorn. So we did not know what was changed. We like now also. The breakfast is good (local and continental also), the room is big enough and clean. We choosed this because the location is good for a short trip, near the port.

the deposit, because I did not find this fact when I made the booking (maybe I did not read carefully), but if we go home directly from the hotel, what can we do with the cash (1000 bath) ? Fortunately we changed money at the airport, so we had enough cash and not this hotel was the final destination.

Well kept, functional, efficient, clean and attentively managed

Location, even though I needed to be in Sathorn for some reasons, is a bit inconvenient. Also the music played in the lobby, the playlist is basically made up by only two songs which plays repeatedly non stop - very irritating

I was concerned when i first got there that the hotel was so close to a busy flyover and the skytrain that it would be noisy but not a bit of it. In fact the hotel location was a huge plus for me. 2 minute walk to the train station, 3 minute walk to the River Ferry terminal so getting around Bangkok was simple. Taxis and Tuktuks are immediately available too and so no reason to be 'stuck at the hotel' About the hotel, the staff are all so incredibly friendly and helpful. The whole place is spotless. I had a one bedroom apartment and the bathroom was fantastic, as was the bed. My friend went for the hotel room. Go for the apartment every day of the week. Really comfortable Quick tip for aiding your journey, ask the hotel for a card that you can use to show the local taxi drivers, tuk tuks etc as there are 2 or 3 Oakwoods in Bangkok. Oh and the local train station is called Sathorn Thaksin if you're trying to get back by rail. It wasn't as obvious as we first thought

Listed in the ameneties will be an iron. You will need to request this when you get there if you want one. It's a minor dislike because they will get one to you immediately

I truly enjoyed my stay in Oakwood Hotel & Residence Bangkok. It is a neat place with, in my opinion, the perfect location. The staff is very sweet, professional and helpful in any matter. Rooms are clean and equipped with everything you need. To my pleasant surprise, the hotel provides a travel desk which made booking a taxi to the aiport a breeze. I recommend the hotel's restaurant. On my last day, I had dinner there and I regretted not having dinner earlier in the hotel's restaurant. The food was delicious.

Nice quiet hotel, located a twenty-five-minute walk from the Icon Siam shopping centre and the river pier, bright, comfortable room and modern bathroom and friendly staff. I also appreciate that due to hotel numbers, there is no point in wasting food at breakfast time. Selection is small, but delicious and you will be satisfied. Pool area is lovely and nice and quiet. I rate it highly because it ticked all the boxes for what I was looking for.

The view from the window. Not the hotel's fault there's an abandoned tower and rundown buildings but the view was incredibly uninspiring and I was on a high floor. The pool depth is two metres but it wasn't very big that you could swim around in it. Just didn't seem like a pool for relaxation and to chill on the side. Just to cool down and get out again.

great find this place was. right next to the chao prayah river express stop and BTS which was why we booked it. 5 minutes walk to either. it’s in bangrak area so plenty of food options around and stuff to see. the room was flawless, bathroom clean and extras like robes and slippers etc made it really nice. very clean and brand new. we stayed on site to eat as we were tired and had the Indian menu and was not disappointed it was amazing. the thali and the biryani tasted like India!

nothing. will book again probably on our return to Bangkok! I would say if you land on the ferry and think it’s too far to walk like we did and got a tuk tuk don’t bother just walk straight it’s 5 minutes! longer in a tuk tuk but with bags and a kid in tow seemed easier. we’ll be back soon!

Location to BTS for daily getting about (but note that reaching the hotel using the BTS with luggage is a challenge as there are A LOT of steps and no lifts there-NOT the hotel’s fault obviously but a warning as I would not have managed that alone!) Great for access to the cheap and great Orange flag tourist boats up and down the river. The room is pleasant in decor (but v ltd in space for luggage if on a long trip with 2 cases. No wardrobe or shelves.) Safe and small fridge. Coffee pod machine but had to purchase pods. Complimentary chilled teas and biscuits in reception. Nice pool - great at the end of a day’s walking the city. Full glass window between bed and shower and toilet thankfully had a blind - some of these have been ill-fitting Louvre doors! Nice breakfast room with good selection and made to order egg and omelette station. Lovely whole honeycomb draining into a bowl was a lovely feature.

Slow check in. Cash deposit taken to be returned on departure which is a tad annoying when it’s your last evening in the country and would have used the cash up on that last day. Credit card would be far more practical. Hot breakfast selection far better on first morning than second - Thai dishes and not the Indian ones which I did not want on my last day in THAILAND! The coffee was awful - to be fair, it was in almost all hotels in the 4 week trip.

A hotel with an excellent location just a few meters from BTS and the main port on the Chao Phraya River. Most of the attractions are thus accessible without having to travel through the congested Bangkok roads with endless traffic jams. The hotel cares about the cleanliness of the rooms and public areas. The pool with deckchairs is on the 2nd floor in a nice environment, but it does not offer a view of the hotel surroundings. Rooms are cleaned daily, modern bathroom with toiletries and although there is a busy road under the hotel, sound insulation is excellent.

Room was very good with a queen size bed, a fridge and an interesting view of Bangkok, but it did not include a wardrobe, so storing luggage for 9 days requires quite a bit of improvisation. The air conditioning was directed directly above the bed, so I preferred to turn it off at night. The buffet breakfast was oriented more towards the Asian clientele, but I had no problem with that.

The property is close to the BTS Saphan Taksin station, the Sathorn Pier is also a few minutes walk away. There is a small shopping mall close by, too. Whatever you may need at whatever time of the day (or night), there is always a store open.

Hmmm… maybe, there’s room for improvement when it comes to room cleaning. But it’s not really something we’d complain about.
