It is a lovely old wooden house on the bank of a canal, you reach it through a tiny Soi not far away from the metro station. The manager is a lovely lady who really took great care of all my requests, a charming experience you will never have in the big chain hotels. The rooms are decorated with taste and charm and no two rooms are alike. Breakfast was great with self made yogurt and jam, not that horrific prefabricated stuff! and dinner was so tasty, my compliment to cook!

You don't get a key for the front door, so you have to ring the bell every time you come home. I personally don't feel good when I have to wake someone up in the middle of the night. But I understand the safety concerns.

Loved this boutique hotel so much. The design is beautiful - all views are a feast for the eyes. Lazing by the river, waiting for a new, delicious breakfast surprise each day was so relaxing, and we really felt like we were on vacation. I loved that this was way off the beaten path. Getting to the hotel takes you through alleyways where all of the neighbors are regular Thai people, going about their lives. What a special experience and treat it is to be there, rather than hourded in with the rest of the tourists in a part of town that exists only to serve them. We took an awesome 2 mile walk to the Taling Chan floating market, which took us through so many different neighborhoods, which was a highlight of our few days in Bangkok. Getting to the MTS, which can get you almost anywhere else in the city is a quick 5 minute walk. And the staff were amazing and friendly. If you like to stay someplace unique and beautiful that might mean a little more “work”, then this is the place for you.

We didn’t mind at all, but be aware that some of the rooms are small. If you are looking for tons of space, try to book the downstairs riverfront room, which looked more spacious (and had a river view!)

From the first contact with Maii at Siamotif I knew that we would feel right at home here. We haven't been to Thailand like most since 2019 and the welcome we received from Maii and the rest of the staff was the warmest we could have expected. The pictures don't do the hotel and experience justice, true Thai hospitality in a true Thai surroundings. The rooms are all individually decorated, we stayed in Celadon room on the first floor with a balcony overlooking the canal. It is smaller than most rooms in Bangkok, but everything you will need is there, it's clean and tidy and generally who goes on holiday to sit in the room all day? The breakfasts were delicious, I particularly enjoyed the different variations we had each day and experiencing new flavours. The location on the west side of the Chao Phraya river was a lovely change from the more touristy east side, the MRT is a short walk away, the river taxi's just a bit further but plenty of taxi's available and Maii will be more than happy to assist you should you require a taxi calling. Overall we had a beautiful, wonderful stay at Siamotif and will definitely be back and recommending to others. Thank you Maii and all your wonderful staff you truly are a hidden gem and the true meaning of Thai hospitality.

There was not one negative about our stay

This must be one of the best best places we had ever stayed. I found it on some Conde Nast blog and did it not live it up to the reputation! — it’s located on the river/canal. We fed fish at night from the terrace and we waved at tourist boats by day (I bet they were all wishing they had stayed here too!). the terrace onto the canal is a joy: sit down, have a beer, watch the water. — the owners are just the nicest people — nice, interested, helpful people. I will treasure the joy of meeting them. — my husband thinks we had the most comfortable bed ever. — it’s in the back streets of Bangkok. Its an experience. — there is a totally unassuming Main Street nearby. nothing spectacular, but we had some gorgeous street food in some pristine local restaurant. — a sort trip away you have a floating market. It was a real pleasure to spend our first night in Thailand there. I would not have wished for anything else.

Great riverside location away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Bangkok. Good base to explore old, more traditional parts of Bangkok. Very beautiful, homely and serene space that you can’t help but lounge in. The staff were great. So friendly and helpful. The home cooked Thai breakfasts and dinner were delicious. The closes thing to a Thai bed and breakfast.

Not a con, but be mindful that because it’s a traditional Thai wooden house with stairs which is part of the appeal, it can make travelling with large suitcases tricky. Not impossible but not ideal.

the breakfast was amazing. cute little building with stylish architecture and interior design. comfortable beds. nice view of river. the staff were all very sweet and welcoming, always available if we needed help and made us feel at home. I liked not staying in a big hotel chain, was much more personal.

the walls for the rooms were very thin so noise travels in and out, was noisy from speed boats on the river at times. the guesthouse itself is very sweet down a nice quite soi, but not so much of interest in surrounding areas, needed to take taxis quite a bit.

Maii’s home is so beautiful! It is very obvious that she and her entire staff love with they do. Everyone made me feel right at home. My bed was very comfortable and my room was very clean. There is a short menu and everything tastes wonderful! Cappuccino in the morning was extra. Mark the Cat is in charge of most everyone and I’m so happy he let me stay. Nathan went the extra mile to help me with taxis. Truly, everything about my stay here was brilliant! Thank you for everything!

Wonderful traditional Thai hotel, each room is unique and beautiful! Very quaint on the canal, the staff was wonderful, we were here for Thai new year and made fresh flower necklaces. they were very helpful in telling how to use local transportation, how to get to the floating market, the grand palace and anything else needed. I would definitely come back!

I loved the daily breakfast prepared by an amazing Thai chef. All food was prepared fresh, and nothing prepackaged. The property was beautiful and was a full immersion into Thai style living. The architecture, the decor, the location could not be outdone by any hotel in Bangkok. Truly an amazing property and experience. The hostess and her staff was friendly, kind, and helpful. They provided a world-class experience.

Such a warm and hospitable place, the hotel is beautifully decorated and gave us a home stay feeling. Perfect place to wind down after a day in hectic Bangkok!

It’s not situated close to major tourist attractions but we didn’t mind at all, staff was always helpful to provide directions. Note that there are long tail boats passing by frequently so earplugs could come in handy if you don’t enjoy the local atmosphere that creates in the early morning 😉
