The hotel is right next to the Mekong river, and if you choose the right room you have a great view over the river. There is also a lovely footpath and bike trail along beside the river just outside the back gate (but beware: this gate is locked at 7 pm), and a few other eating options along near the river. Electric bikes are available to hire quite cheaply. The hotel itself is comfortable, with large rooms and friendly staff (though desk staff did not all have good English). There is an onsen, but we ran out of time to try it.

The hotel has a large restaurant, though as often in Thailand very limited vegetarian options. Fish was good, though. I realise that wine is not big in Thailand, but I was disappointed that I could not buy white wine by the glass.

This is a really nice hotel that has quite a grand feel in a super location. It was the most comfortable bed we have slept in in SE Asia! The balcony had a lovely view and the shower was very good. We always appreciate a kettle and fridge, and they give you fresh drinking water each day. A lot of choice at breakfast in a wonderful open dining room with views of the sunrise over the mountains and river. Starts early enough to eat before being picked up for the river cruise. The pool had a super view too, and is long and was on the cooler side which we like as we like the swim rather than just dipping in. The free bikes are bone shakers but ok to have a quick tour to look at restaurants etc. We got there on quite a quiet night and think we missed some of the options on the riverfront as we went along the road. On the second night we ate in the restaurant which was ok, but limited for vegetarians. The walk or cycle along the river was fab and there are lots of cafes. We did hire the electric e-scooter bike type things which were alright but couldn't make it up the hill to the golden buddah with a heavier person, just about with a smaller person, so only any good for the main strip of Chiang Khong. Also mine didn't cut out as it was meant to and I bashed my knee so be careful! It says they hire motorbikes but when we asked they said they didn't and couldn't help us to book from a local place. We couldn't find anywhere to hire so gave up. Easy pick up from the front by our river trip company.

Vegetarian options, lack of motorbike hire, pool was gorgeous but needed a clean.

The location was superb for our needs. The staff were superb very helpful and always on hand. Although we left the hotel to explore the area we didn’t need to there was plenty to do in the hotel. We especially enjoyed the singer at dinner on our first evening. Most entertaining and a nice touch thank you.

The food at dinner was excellent and the service first class. Breakfast however could have been better. There was plenty of choice however it was mostly cold due to the lids on the containers being left open, by inconsiderate guests, it would have been nice if the staff could have closed them or signs been put next to the containers.

Location was great overlooking the Mekong River as I was staying for 2 nights b4 crossing in Loas. The rooms are really clean, big & comfy, & staff are friendly offering a in house laundry service at good price. The swimming pool is lovely & there is access to a nice pedestrian/cycle pathway in each direction along the Mekong. If you are after a little luxury along Yr travels then this is probably up there in terms if that in Chiang Khong.

It was very very quite the 1st day/night I was there which felt rather strange. At one point you would think it was closed. The food choices are limited & Chiang Khong itself does seem a very sleepy hollow with little or nothing happening. In hindsight I would of just had 1 night or even stayed on the bus from Chiang Rai right over the friendship bridge to stay in Huay Xai before the 2 days on the riverboat. Overall the hotel was great value if your not on a backpackers limited budget. For me it wasn't so much the hotel, rather than Chiang Khong was just boring but thankfully I was not on a tight schedule.

This was just an overnight stay before taking the Nagi 2 day cruise on the Mekong to Luang Prabang. The hotel was a pleasant surprise. The staff were very accommodating and upgraded our rooms for us (at a reasonable cost) and were incredibly pleasant and helpful. We had a swim in the pool, went for a walk along the river boardwalk and had a pleasant dinner in the hotel. Nagi Cruises picked us up at the hotel after an early breakfast (included) and all went seamlessly. I would recommend this hotel if taking one of the Mekong cruises rather than try to get to Chiang Khong early morning from Chiang Rai.

I would recommend this place more for a stopover than for a longer stay. It has a good location along the Mekong (you can take a walk on the river front), a parking and you can find a few restaurants at walking distance (in the evening, not all day long). The hotel is quite busy, and there is no lounging area around the pool. The pool itself was under kids control during our visit, so not perfect for chilling, but maybe it was only that day (?). The hotel is an ex-Ibis and although clean, it has seen better days. Apart from that, still all the services were functional and so it is reasonable value for money by western standards.

The rooms are well designed and include a balcony with chairs and a table. The breakfast buffet has been improved/upgraded. The hotel design, on the river with pool and dining, is ideal.

The check-in process is slow and cumbersome. If you insist on filling out a form, why not have staff fill it out in advance and have guests verify, add, edit and sign. It is just laziness to force customers to fill out information which they have already supplied in their reservation. People want to get a key and go to their room. Don't delay them with wasteful forms!

Nice comfy beds and Plenty of Hot water! This hotel affords a marvelous view of the Mekong River. A great place to go after you have been up in the mountains for a while. A great place to rest and relax and regroup. Chaing Kong is an easy and convenient border crossing if you need to get your visa stamped. Or if you want to visit Laos.

Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment. some dishes were cold. There's not to much going on in Chaing Kong, it's very quiet if you're looking for night life.

This hotel far exceeded our expectations and was great value for money. It felt really luxurious. The room was spacious and comfortable and super clean. The view of the river is gorgeous and the overall vibe is very nice and relaxed. Good variety at breakfast and tasty. The staff were also really welcoming and helpful. Would highly recommend.

Only reason I knocked off a point is that the pool and onsen could have been cleaner. The pool had a lot of algae.

The location was in a quiet stretch of the town. All within easy walking distance for our needs. Excellent views across the Mekong river. Wonderful room and comfy bed. The hotel did cater well for our vegetarian diet requirements. Warm and friendly staff. The manager actually had spent a fair number of years in the UK, and by the looks of things : with excellent training. Wish we had more time to stay here longer but we had the boarder crossing into Laos the next morning.

None.
