The hotel is 10 mins from the bus stop a very easy walk. The bus trip was longer than expected. (9hrs instead of 6 due to breakdown). We arrived tired and had not eaten for most of the day. The welcome from the staff was exceptional. The food at the hotel is good. We had a lovely dinner on the terrace overlooking the Mekong. The breakfast the next morning was good too. They hired a taxi for us to get down to the border crossing the next day.

This is a newish hotel with large capacity. We seemed to be only ones there. We had a nice room overlooking the river. The bathroom had some plumbing problem with a leak perhaps from the cistern. We overnighted only so no huge problem for us.

View of the river was outstanding. We were in town mainly to catch the slow boat to Laos, but we scheduled two nights and one full day to experience a small town in Thailand. We are very glad we did. The desk helped us hire a tuk tuk for a half day of sightseeing and craft shopping. That was a highlight! The lady driver was a great guide, even without much English. We also walked a few blocks over to the Main Street and bought ice cream and other things at the 7-Eleven. The food was good in the restaurant.

We wished for more choices at breakfast.

Perfect stopover rest before continuing our journey to Chiang Mai. Room was modern, nice, clean. Hotel appears to take large groups, so if you're looking for a place for a big group, it's great. Breakfast buffet is very good, located at the hotel restaurant which looks over the Mekong. A great way to start the day, just beautiful. Why did we choose this hotel? Location is just around the corner from the Green Bus office, where we needed to be the next morning. Background: We visited Luang Prabang to watch the festivities of Boun Awk Phansa, then decided to take the 2-day slow boat ride from Luang Prabang to Huay Xai then cross the border to Chiang Khong, where this hotel is. We needed to spend a night in Chiang Khong before our 7-hour bus ride from Chiang Khong to Chiang Mai (which was totally relaxing, btw, highly recommend if you're looking to slow-travel over land). So we stayed here for a night's rest. We got in pretty late around 8 pm or so. Luckily the restaurant was open late so we were able to eat some food in the hotel restaurant. It wasn't the next morning when we realized why the hotel was named as such. Sunrise over the Mekong alone was breathtaking (see pic). It was a great way to end our boat journey - two days of slow, relaxing, reflection-inducing scenes along the river. The view from our room at this hotel was the perfect farewell from this grand beautiful old river that has spurred the civilizations along it.

Fantastic view of the mighty Mekong from our bed and balcony. I enjoyed the pool which was shaded and clean. Food was very good although full breakfast not available. My partner was unwell so we had to stay another night which was no problem.

Need to give more water for guests (only two small bottles for two people). Also small mould in shower but very clean and room fresh. Only a few staff spoke very little English and so it was hard to get information and the town was empty and quiet and no private river trips which we had hoped for -the impact of covid and loss of tourism no doubt. The town is a launching pad for river trips so not much to do but we could just relax.

The music and voices from loud speakers coming from Laos side of the river; the whole night. Even if the river view room is great and have a wonderful view if you are sensitive to the noise at night , I would suggest to book an inside view room.

Nice modern decor. Very clean. Luxury feel. Beautiful river views from room balcony and restaurant terrace. Decent long pool. Friendly staff. Proper fluffy towels. Good fish fried rice for breakfast. A couple of nice cafés and restaurants within easy reach.

Staff confidently gave us incorrect information about the buses to Chiang Rai.

The room could have been improved by having outdoor furniture so we could sit on the balcony. The breakfast choices were a little limited - no yoghurt and no egg station. But these are small issues. Overall it was great.

The rooms are very big with a cute balcony overlooking the river. Just in front of the hotel, you can walk along the river and find lots of bars, restaurants, and shops. Being slightly out the town means it’s very peaceful too.

The pool is almost always in shade so the water is so, so cold.

Riverside hotel, rooms with river or pool views. Nice new walking path goes right past the hotel. Exceptional river views from deck of hotel restaurant. Great continental breakfast.

This faculty is not centrally located, so you will get a little exercise, checking out the rest of the city.

best 3 star hotel I’ve stayed at in Thailand or ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. Very pleasant decor and functional design throughout. large bathroom with good shower. Guest rooms all have balconies overlooking the Mekong river with gorgeous views. love very restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the river, excellent seafood fresh from the Mekong.
