As soon as you arrive at the resort, you feel the attention to detail and hospitality from all the staff. The grounds are very well looked after, with ponds, gardens, and fountains all around. The room was big and comfortable, and I loved the shower room! The reception staff were super friendly and helped us book a tour, even giving us suggestions of places to visit that we had never heard of and, honestly, were the best part of the tour. The pool was probably our favourite spot, with great views to the river and gardens and fireflies as soon as the sun goes down! We took a cooking class and it was one of the highlights of our stay. Again, the staff couldn't do enough to help us enjoy the session. We would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone going to Chiang Rai.

The food and drinks are a bit overpriced.

An amazing stay! We have been traveling for 5 months. This resort far exceeded any other place we have stayed. The grounds are beautiful as well as the room. Having breakfast overlooking the river is wonderful! The Legend IS Eric the manager. He is friendly and helpful. He suggested two tours that were perfect for us. We got to enjoy river trips that weren't full day exhausting tours for us older folks. If you want a real treat in Chiang Rai book this hotel with breakfast and talk to Eric!

Everything was great.

They know how to serve breakfast!!! So many choices. The patio with the swing was excellent, as are the overall atmosphere of the grounds. The rooms are very spacious. The staff is overly kind and helpful.

This is our second visit to the hotel. We have never eaten in the restaurant as the prices are far too expensive for the kind of food being presented. Always eat off site. On the hot and stuffy days and evenings a ceiling fan or wall fan for the patio/balcony would be a nice added touch. Also, there was no electrical plug near the desk, so I had to move the desk to where there was one. Add more electrical outlets to the rooms when you renovate.

This hotel really was very competitively priced when I stayed. For around 10 pounds / 500 baht more than quite basic-looking hotels in Chiang Rai you can stay at this resort instead, which reminds me of hotels you see on the coast of South Thailand. Room was very large with all amenities you would need, pool was amazing - I had both a night and morning swim alone, and it’s super quiet. The hotel seems to do all it can to avoid mosquitos also - I’m not sure what else they could put in place considering its river location. Finally breakfast was really good with a lot cooked fresh, much better than a typical Thai hotel breakfast. Mike who was working also was super friendly. No more than 10 mins in a (very cheap) taxi from town - and staying by the river is far nicer than staying in the town anyway.

Considering the price really not much. Plug sockets in the room were sporadic and randomly placed but this is fine. Perhaps add in USB chargers to solve this issue.

Wow!! This resort is so amazing in northern Thai Lanna style, we had a great time and are happy here so much. Everything is perfect for us not expected to have 4 or 5 Star but we have got it. • The Reception is well trained good advise, Khun Erick Swedish man as general manager are around to welcome guests. Nice and polite man. • Staff super friendly in all departments • The room is so large space, wet and dry have its own space, with private balcony in garden view. • Swimming pool is so paronamic view of Maekok River, breezy and nature green. • Restaurant for dining and Breakfast is great service, served with smile, coffee types on your request. • All Run Smoothly, Thanks to all.staffs

No complaints at all. Next time if we have time to come to the north we will come again .

This is the perfect retreat, located just a 20 minute walk from the centre of Chiang Rai. The location is on the edge of the river and the hotel gardens cover a couple of acres....... it's beautiful landscaped with trees, flowers and small streams. The rooms are amazing, very spacious with everything you could wish for (outside balconies/patio), large walk-in shower and so much more. The restaurant is equally amazing, great breakfasts served overlooking the river and there are 2 really good restaurants, offering very good Thai specialities and an Italian. We felt super relaxed, it's a great place to chill especially after days trekking or cycling around the Chiang Rai countryside.

Actually such an amazing place, the entire property is huge and has beautiful buildings, structures, garden, ponds surrounding the whole property, water views at breakfast and pool side bar. we booked a car which we could park in the resort. From a distance to the main city, we drove every day so walking distance I wouldn’t know much about. hiring a car in Chiang Rai was a good choice for us as it allowed us to drive to the main sites to visit there. Our room had a pond views which was beautiful to have the French doors open during the day to see. not really related to the property but if you are considering doing a day trip to Chiang Rai from Chiang Mai, I would highly recommend hiring your own car from the airport and spending a few days there. the drive from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai was one of the highlights of our trip.

Nothing bad to note at all.

Peaceful setting next to the river. Well thought out layout of rooms so every room feels private and has it’s own patio with 2 seater swing sofa. Very neatly kept. Staff are always attentive to guests’ needs.

As noted in previous reviews, food is expensive compared to Thai prices, however resorts are always going to charge more because you do get a better level of service. On the whole, food was nice. Pork chop was delicious and well-cooked. Would not recommend the lasagne. That was disappointing.

The rooms are very well appointed. Huge shower! Nice towels. Beds are comfortable. I had two balcony’s which was nice. Hotel manager, Eric is super friendly and chats with everyone. Breakfast buffet was good but the cappuccinos were excellent.

Their “shuttle” costs to go anywhere, so choose a Grab taxi instead. Food is meh at the restaurants and the prices are inflated. Many, many mosquitos even though they did a HEAVY duty pesticide spray when I was there. Looked like fog rolling in. 😣. Probably because it’s on the water with small canals throughout the property. Pricey for Thailand.

We spent 5 nights here at The Legend it is situated in a very quiet street down by the river . Our room was lovely, it had a mosquito net around the bed ( we did not need it ) screens on all doors and windows and mosquito lotion in the room .A nice relaxing pool area and clean pool with plenty of loungers . Great bathroom with jacuzzi tub , in room safe , kettle, coffee, tea umbrella , aircon plus a fan and bathroom amenities Mozzies are there due to the beautiful gardens, fish ponds and closeness of the river but the resort has things in place so you are no bothered by them . Breakfast was buffet style and enough variety for everyone also cappuccino and latte made for us . We had pizza and craft beer in house one night that was really nice and Thai on our last night in their restaurant. My husband had a lovely beef curry but my Pad Thai Goong wasnt the best ( I did mention it to staff ) noodles not cooked enough and the dry prawns/shrimp were tough so I didnt finish it. Our starters were also really good and craft beer to wash it down . The staff at The Legend were very attentive and always smiling. You are never ignored the staff seem to know just when you need them . So Legend Chiang Rai we will be back thank you for a great 5 days .
