They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was exceptional, providing us with invaluable tips and recommendations about the island and other must-visit places. In addition to the enchanting surroundings and wonderful hosts, the property boasts a magnificent swimming pool that was an absolute savior during the scorching midday heat. The only downside of our stay was that we had to reluctantly continue our trip. We were so captivated by the place that we couldn't help but wish for a time-stopping device to extend our stay indefinitely. Pilou and Fred, if only you could have magically made our departure date disappear, we would have happily stayed forever, leaving all our travel plans behind!

we have been travelling for 3 months, we spent two weeks here as we enjoyed it that much. rooms were great, worth the money, pool was beautiful and clean, staff were amazing and breakfast was all homemade, incredible. Pilou and Fred (owners) go above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect. we cannot thank them enough for the amazing time we spent at Lazy Republique. To get to the nearby towns/ bars must be willing to drive a moped. as only a couple of restaurants walking distance. Next door but one there is a beautiful Thai restaurant which is incredible. We even did a class of Yoga, with Ewa, who was a teacher staying at the property and Pilou joined in. Thankyou for the best two weeks, hopefully see you both again.

From the moment you arrive, you are greeted by the hosts Pilou & Fred (who by the way is a woman!) are utterly charming and you are treated like one of the family straight away. Their hospitality goes above and beyond what you would expect, from trying to help guests navigate the island to assisting with organising local walks and activities. The bungalows are very private and comfortable and the pool area offers a great environment to kick back and just relax. The main highlights of our stay were the delicious homemade breakfast made by Fred each morning and the lovely pastries as a treat. Also, the evenings spent socialising in the bar with the hosts and other guests made our holiday feel very special. Absolutely LOVELY little boutique B&B on Koh Chang. Quiet and serene location with the most amazing little pool and bungalows. Amazing French couple who owns this place and cooks the most delicious breakfast every day. We never pay for breakfast at hotels but we did every morning because of how delicious they make it here. We opted for sunset drinks at the bar with the owner who makes a mean mojito. He is so kind and this couple makes the entire stay on Koh Chang so amazing. They help with all tips/transport/laundry and anything else you need. The room is very nice and clean. Your typical SEA room but they do have sliding doors with a little private outdoor space for each one which is appreciated. Overall a 10/10 and a bright spot on Koh Chang, which we did not love but that is no fault to the owners of this sweet B&B. Thanks friends.

Fred & Pilou are amazing and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. They gave us lots of tips of things to do around the island, arranged hiking and snorkeling tours for us and even prepared an aperitif and some snacks for all of us on Christmas Eve. Such nice people! The standalone bungalows are located in bailan which is a sleepy town with just a few restaurants and perfect to relax. you might want to rent a scooter tho to visit lonely beach or Kai bae. The bungalows were very clean, had a nice terrace, a great AC and warm shower. everything great value for money at around 40€ per night! oh and the breakfast was amazing too!

there’s no real beach in Bailan but if you rent a scooter that’s quickly overcome

When searching for a place to stay at Koh Chang, I was drawn to the great reviews for Lazy Republique. Well, I can say they are accurate and our stay was very relaxing and comfortable. Fred and Pio are fantastic hosts and nothing is a problem. They made our stay even more memorable. Fred's breakfasts are a vary welcome start to the day, as are Pio's cocktails are great way to unwind at the end of the day. The location is scenic and quiet. There is a great value Thai/European restaurant very close by and a variety of shops and markets a short scooter ride away. The units are self contained, comfortable and of a good size. There is no TV, which I appreciated for a location like this. If you want to make a coffee in your room, Fred will provide you with a kettle.

where to begin; the property is close to several beaches. The bungalow is nice and clean with great views and a wonderful garden. So relaxing! The swimming pool is nice. The owners Philou and Fred are the best! The have lots of good tips for where to go, where to eat etc. The breakfast is yummy, everything is made from fresh products, such as the fruitjuice and jam. Philou makes the best cocktails on the rooftop-bar. Had a really great time! They made me feel right at home ❤️

Lovely place in a great location on Koh Chang. Our accommodation was very clean and comfortable and the place is generally very pleasant. Bailan Beach area is a quieter than other areas on Koh Chang, which suited us, but the beach is small, but even then it was not crowded. The couple who own the place where great and really helpful in sorting out taxis / trips etc. The swimming pool was a real bonus - small but very refreshing.

Small, quiet bungalows at the edge of the jungle. The bungalows are simple and functional in Bauhaus style. You can get an excellent french breakfast with homemade marmalade. Lazy Republique is away from the loud and busy part of Koh Chang.

If you expect the luxury of a "Four Seasons" for that price, you are probably on the wrong planet. Everything is basic and to the point. For us an excellent value for money.
