Heydays are certainly behind it, but still a well maintained place with a wooden palace and splendid jungle like garden. Great swimming opportunities both in the pool and beach.

Inability of the staff to keep loud groups from Moscow in their place.

Fantastic breakfast, even gluten-free bread available upon request. The staff is exceptional, extremely nice and helpful. Rooms are spacious and super clean. Great method to communicate with the front desk by whatsapp.

AC was not strong enough to keep the set temperature in the room, there is no actual sand available to enjoy at the beachfront because the water line there is very high. The big problem is that the property is not sustainable enough. Many things could have been improved - e.g. reusable water bottles instead of plastic bottles, drinking water dispensers, encouraging guests to reuse beach towels etc. I also found it quite difficult to find vegan options in the restaurants.

We absolutely loved our time at the Santhiya Tree. We chose one of the river view rooms with private pool and it was the most beautiful room I have ever stayed in. It was all wood with touches of ceramic items and welcoming lighting. The large glass sliding doors opened up to a veranda with an infinity pool overlooking the river, green hills and mangroves. Relaxing on the daybed looking out over the pool whilst listening to the sound of all the tropical birds was definitely a highlight of our stay. There beautiful hotel pool is surrounded by palm trees and comfy sunbeds and gorgeous beach in front of the hotel is palm-fringed with white sand and turquoise water. The staff were really lovely and did an excellent job of looking after us. We were really sad to leave.

I didn't think the breakfast was 5* quality. The selection was quite limited and it tasted average. The only things I enjoyed were the eggs, the fruits and the coffee.

Extremely beautiful property and buildings. The room I had was also stunning. The craftsmanship is definitely something to be admired. The pools and views were also enjoyable. The breakfast buffet was very good.

The staff were all very good and friendly but I actually would have like a touch more relaxed energy from them. I appreciated the wai's and hello's but after passing 8 workers on one walk you start to want to not make eye contact with them and just continue on the path.

I really liked staff who were super helpful. At the 1st day we had emergency situation and hotel reacted on time and fast. One of staff (Liam) was exceptional in assisting finding the car till BKK airport and other helpful tips to explore the island. I really recommend to stay there: rooms in the main building have its own private swimming pools. Breakfast place has fantastic view to mountains and "infinite" pool.

Stunning grounds and beautiful teak accommodation. good location, lovely staff clean, decent food.

The cost of the food with the VAT plus service charge on top of bills. We only ate in the hotel once due to the cost. Most guests ate elsewhere the restaurants at the hotel were never busy. We understand the costs will be higher in a nicer resort and we expected that, but the costs with the added 10% service charge and 7% added vat also it was just far too expensive to eat and drink here. Maybe they do not need as many staff and could costs that way, there seemed to be lots of staff around not doing much, especially on reception.

This was a stunning hotel and the staff are really friendly and hard working. They could not do enough to help you. Our room was lovely and a big size. The grounds of hotel are beautiful. It was nice that you could just WhatsApp staff with any questions and if you were out and about they would book taxis for you, which was useful as not always easy to do on Koh Chang later at night (taxis generally just drive up and down the main road). Drinks and food were nice.

Our private pool was a bit cold so didn't use as much as would have if it was heated. The shuttle bus should be more frequent.

The hotel is absolutely amazing and we were more than happy the whole 10 days we stayed there. Our room was spatious and very clean! The staff was just always super friendly and the food was amazing. The breakfast buffet was very delicious and it had everything you could wish for (standard american as well as thai dishes). The food in their restaurant was also very good and the prices were fair. What really impressed us was the pool area, it was always super clean and the service was just great! I can also recommend the spa and massage treatments, they were excellent and very cheap compared to european prices. If you do want to explore the area you can rent motorbikes at the hotel or the small town is just 10-15 minutes away on foot. We always walked to the restaurants in the town which took us between 10-30 minutes, depending on where we went. The restaurants in town are really cheap and very good! I can recommend all of them! We spent most of our time in the water either at the pool or in the beach. The water by the beach was very clean and rather calm waters, perfect to swim or use the free of charge SUPs and kajaks. Trips to lonely beach, snorkeling and scuba diving are very close by. If you want to go snorkeling or scuba diving I can recommend BB Divers, we had an amazing trip with them! Also the hotel was very quiet and we had a very relaxing time there! No loud music, no animation and no one wanting to sell you stuff! Just a very relaxing holiday!

You are treated like royalty from the moment you arrive til the moment you leave. I have never been to a place where i felt so welcome. Every single staff were so polite and caring. The facilities and the sorroundings were all pleasing for the eye and well maintained. The food were a treat everytime. I know I sound like i were payed to say this, but this is my honest opinion and I have tried quite lot of different places in my time.

I found nothing to complain about and i am quite picky. If possible I would definately come again and enjoy the atmosphere, food and wonderfull sourrondings.

Beautiful hotel on the lovely island of Koh Chang. The hotel is built with traditional Thai hardwood carvings on top of a modern infrastructure, so very characterful but efficient. we had the standard room on the third floor of the main building but what a room! Private plunge pool with a view over the river and rain forest beyond. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The facilities were fab, dinner right next to the sea with the sun going down was picture perfect. Excellent breakfast buffet, huge choice and plenty of it. All in all, an amazing stay.
