The first thing when we arrived was that the owner told us: Feel like home. And we did ❤️ Everyone is nice and the whole hotel feels like a big house. The lobby/restaurant is a very comfy place. Jumping in the morning in a Kajak or paddling to the ocean for the sundown.. just amazing ❤️ you can even swim to the beach :) very nice and comfy place in the mangroves (lots of fishes etc to watch!) And for us the best place where we could stay. Especially because of coco the cat, the warming and welcoming owner and the friendly staff :) Hope to see you again ^^

The staff were really friendly and helpful. They booked our day trips and boats to different islands. The room is beautiful and the facilities are fantastic. Particularly the canoes, SUPs and kayaks! Highly recommend

Eric and ALL of his staff were delightful and kind. We felt like part of their family! Eric seems to run this lovely place on trust (for example you can help yourself to drinks from the communal fridge and just tell them in the morning!) We hope this system never gets abused…. The property itself is has loads of character, situated in a very scenic spot on the river, walking distance to our favourite bit of beach we visited on Koh Chang, and to Rimlay, a great beach restaurant (with many others close by in Khlong Prao). Free kayaks, SUPS, canoes and bicycles, and cheap, straightforward scooter hire. Also free drinking water to help reduce the (over)use of plastics. Two transfers also arranged at reasonable prices. A very straightforward, stress- free stay in a lovely place with lovely people.

As soon as we had settled in and found our bearings we had a delightful, relaxed 5 night stay. The proprietor and staff were very friendly and most helpful. Being on the riverside with free use of kayaks, canoes and standup paddle boards was a wonderful bonus. The beach with a very good local beach bar and massage service is just a few minutes walk away and although the main road with shops and restaurants is a kilometre away bikes were available free and motorbikes at a very reasonable rate are available at the hotel. The breakfasts were delicious and an honesty bar was available. We found it the perfect location for exploring the island and the other guests were independent minded travellers like ourselves. I have never felt so sad to leave.

Breakfast was delicious, quite a small selection but understandable given that the resort only has 5 rooms. Location was superb and the bonus was the kayaks and bicycles at no extra cost.

Bicycles were very basic and one had a loose chain which occasionally came off the sprocket although it was easy enough to put it back on.

Everything about Watercolours is outstanding. Erik and his team are all friendly and helpful, creating a calm, laid back vibe. The location on the river is stunning and a great place to watch the world go by. Our room was lovely, huge and we loved the quirkyness of staying here, opposed to staying at a classic beach resort. Breakfast (payable) was always excellent with lots of smiles. Great to be able to use kayaks, canoes and sups to explore the area. In wanking distance of a marvellous beach restaurant and beaches. We would highly recommend this little gem. Thank you for a memorable stay on Koh Chang.

Having to leave!!

Off the beaten path but very safe, clean and enjoyable for anyone who values luxury tranquility. Easy to get to the beach and only about 20 mins stroll to the main road with all sorts of shops and restaurants. And they have a rain shower!!!

It's all good! Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others. It's not a lively, party sort of area so not suitable for people looking for that jazz.

This place was perfect, and the best place we stayed on Koh Chang. as soon as we left we missed it. The peacefulness, Eric and the incredible staff (Bua 🙂), looking at the river over breakfast every day, the wonderful breakfasts. And Nay the dog. The rooms were lovely and immaculately cleaned each day, and the lobby/reception area was a little oasis to spend time during the day. can’t recommend enough!

That they didn’t have a minimum stay policy of a week! 😁

Everything spacious rooms,comfortable bed,the views along the river The peace quiet and tranquility but more than all that The wonderful staff that Eric the owner has working there. We felt more like part of a family than guests. All the staff and Eric the owner couldn’t do enough for us and were so attentive A special mention for Wan who we absolutely adored There are 2 wonderful dogs that live there as well We stayed for 10 days but could have stayed for much longer We will definitely be back and cannot recommend it highly enough.

Having to leave

Absolutely beautiful location and amazing to have the free kayaks and paddleboards. Was really close to paddle to the beach for swims and beach bars. Some of the restaurants over the river offer a free ferry shuttle too. Really friendly owners and staff, we stayed for a week over Christmas and couldn't imagine anywhere better to spend it!
