Moonhut Is located midway along 3 miles of relatively quiet beach at Maenam. It is removed from the noise of traffic on the main road, 600 yards away. The beach is clean and there are lovely views across to the island of Koh Phangan. The bungalows are raised up a few steps above the sand and spaced out above high tide level around Angela's restaurant. This operates separately for payment purposes and is open for food and drinks from breakfast till 9pm. There are other bars and restaurants within 10 minutes walk in either direction along the beach. The bungalows are accurately described on Booking.com. We stayed for 11 nights (March 2024). There was plenty of space for a large bed, sofa, dressing table, fridge, electronic safe and a large wardrobe with drawers and hanging rail. Air con worked well and there was a wet room with an electric shower. Electric points were situated in 3 positions. There are rooms with lower spec than this at a cheaper tariff. Rooms were cleaned daily and we were able to request towel and linen change when necessary. Jane in reception was very helpful and efficient. She was happy to arrange taxis for trips out. Maenam is a more peaceful alternative to Chaweng.

The lovely, unique setting with beach bungalows right on the beachfront. The golden sand that is cleaned meticulously every day was our favourite part. You can hear the waves gently crashing on the sand all day and night, so a wonderfully constant relaxing vibe. We loved the friendly staff, Jane in particular was so helpful and kind. A special thank you goes to Nicha for her delightful massages and funny conversation. I wish I could have taken her back to Australia with me! The only down side is the beds aren’t very comfortable and the bathrooms could use a bit of an update.

The mattresses need to be a bit more comfortable and the bathrooms need an upgrade. Other than a few minor repairs, Moonhut bungalows will be remembered very fondly for some wonderful memories.

This place is magical. It is a bit scruffy around the edges, but that's just superficial stuff. Everything works that needs to. You are staying right by/on the beach. There are a few beach restaurants and bars, a very short walk up the beach. They all close fairly early, and the nights are peaceful. Shops a 5 minute walk away.

Some of the staff in the restaurant right next to the bungalows are moody, and the woman who runs it is rude. We would have eaten there a lot more if they had been more welcoming. We could see they made other guests uncomfortable, too.

Amazing beach with chairs. The best beach I was on in Samui. It is in a good section of beautiful sands. Room was basic but for the price and beach front is an amazing deal.

The road to get there was jungle and not lit at night. As a solo traveller I was told by some staff not to walk alone at night. There is no deadbolt on the door, just some small slide locks and the door wasn't flush with the frame. They could definitely increase the feeling of security and bugs (tho bugs weren't a problem). The restaurant was quite overpriced so didn't eat there.

Jane welcomed us very kindly, she was also very open to help in any cases. We also booked Taxis and a Tour with her, which was very comfortable without problems and effortable. The bugalow is located directly on the beach which was not crowded and like paradies. The bungalow itself was as described, small but cozy. Its also very quiet, you get to hear the sea and animal noises which made our stay very relaxing. The Staff was also very nice and caretaking. Thank you for the good experience

Nothing beats opening your door to 10meters of beach between you and the ocean. The rooms are clean and well furnished for the price. The staff are very attentive and hands on. The restaurant onsite - Angela’s - is also very good. You can rent paddleboard and motorbikes onsite. Great location right on a beautiful beach, helpful, friendly staff, helped us fix a ripped bag by taking it to be repaired. Easy scooter hire, free chairs on beach, massage onsite & great food at Angela's Restaurant onsite. Good WiFi & Netflix, fridge & kettle in room. Easy to get to Fisherman Village & sites by scooter. Great choice for budget price.

Cosy bungalows right on the beach - great location! Host very responsive and friendly.

Had to request for new towels/room clean etc. Due to it getting easily dirty with the location I believe this should naturally be a service. Facilities like restaurant and renting a bike is a little more expensive than usual.

This bungolow is absolutely stunning. It is a few meters away from the sea, right on a stunning beach. The bungalow itself is very simple, but is has all you need: a comfy bed, air conditioning, a safe, a desk, a kettle and a private bathroom with shower (very small). We totally loved our stay and the peace. There also is a bar that serves food just a few meters away (Angela's Moonhut).

There were some spiders nets in the bungalow. We did not mind too much but a good clean would be good. Also, the reception and the bar open late in the morning and close early in the evening, which made it difficult for us to speak with a member of staff.

Good food at Angela’s at moonhut. Enjoyed every meal. Lovely to walk from bungalow onto sand and into the sea. The resort manager Jane was extremely helpful and sorted out all travel arrangements
