Hotel Niles Istanbul is a great value small hotel in the heart of the touristic hustle and bustle area of Istanbul (Fatih, Sultanahmet). While not the most friendly location when you first arrive from the airport (the neighborhood is a commercial area with narrow and steep streets full of stores selling clothes, purses, leather goods, night gowns, bed and bath articles, etc.), it is an easy walk to all of the major touristic attractions of Istanbul. The area is safe, and feels more touristic as you walk uphill, and more local as you walk downhill. The rooms were very quiet and noise from the street was never an issue. From here, you can easily walk to Hagia Sofia, Topkapi, Sultanahmet (Blue) Mosque, Grand Bazaar, and even the Süleymaniye Mosque can be reached by foot, although a bit further away. You can also easily take the Tram line 1 towards Katabaç to visit the sumptuous Dolmabahçe Palace on the Bosphorus. The hotel is comfortable, but not luxurious. Super clean, and well maintained. The turkish bath in the bathroom is a treat which makes a bath after a long hot day a fun experience. The staff is wonderful, helpful, and welcoming. One of the favorite parts of the stay is the delicious breakfast on the roof top restaurant. I looked forward to the breakfast every morning, where Halil and his staff awaited us with fresh watermelon salads and melon salads, a variety o local cheese and a delicious variety of typical turkish breakfast dishes. The breakfast experience will be a memorable experience. Eating simit bread with turkish tea, fresh honeycomb, cucumber/yogurt salad overlooking the Marmara is a treat. I would absolutely go back to Hotel Niles in a return to Istanbul. Highly recommend it.

There was no particular aspect of my stay that I did not like. One area for improvement would be for the management of the hotel to create a guide of local stores where the tourist can buy typical turkish items without being afraid of being over-charged for every item. For example, I wanted to buy all sorts of bed and bath items (linen, towels, etc.) but the staff at those stores clearly were trying to overcharge for those items. Really sad, because at the end I did not buy anything. The staff could share their local knowledge with tourists.

Nice boutique hotel with excellent location, close to public location. The check-in and check-out was very smooth and hassle free. The hotel itself is niche in terms of layout and decor. Nice touch and comfortable rooms. The staff was quite accommodating amd flexible to the requests, for example, I had to leave early for the airport before the breakfast time, yet the staff in the restaurant had already started putting up the breakfast before the breakfast opening time. I didn't grab the breakfast though, coz I am not much of a breakfast person. Coffee did work though.

There's isn't much to dislike. I guess some things like shower sliding doors and showers need to be updated to newer ones as they are dated.

Beautiful hotel, great value in heart of Istanbul. The interior decor and customer service was astounding, it was genuinely so beautiful and authentic. We were greeted with turkish tea and turkish delights even though we arrived at the hotel well after 1am. Shuttle service to and from was excellent and efficient - highly worth the 50 euros to be honest as Istanbul traffic and public transport was too stressful to try navigate. The breakfast provided was very good. Quite basic but had some really yum treats and overall healthy. Beautiful view/terrace as well. The rooms itself were good size and comfy. Bathroom was a little on small side and the door is more a glass separator than anything but it was fine. About a 15min walk to the major Mosques and on the other side almost a 4min walk to the Bazaar. Really cool spot. Highly recommend!

Bathroom was a little small and the door wasn't really a door but nothing you can do! Also the key attached to the electronic key was a little annoying when you tried to open/lock the door. But nothing too major! Perhaps give these things separate?

Decorated in a very unique way. Staff extremely friendly, making you tea and a treat on arrival and helped with the luggage. Room was spacious. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were very friendly and proud of their work. Location was great for staying in the old part of town. Staff helped to organise transport to the hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

Old buildings with old sewerage systems often have a smell about them, so would be good if they provided covers for the drains to use in-between use of the shower and to cover the floor drain (like we had in other accommodation in Athens). We understand that it is hard to deal with this issue when it comes to old buildings.

Everything at Hotel Niles was perfect. Prompt responses from staff before my stay with any questions I had, a spacious room with incredible water pressure in the shower, awesome breakfast options on the beautiful rooftop and located in one of the best spots in Istanbul - close enough so you can walk to everything, but still a little out of the way so you get to experience Turkish life and culture. 10/10 stay. The complimentary Turkish Tea and Turkish Delight on arrival was a nice touch as well, as was the small gift at the end of the stay.

Nothing.

Should be a good hotel for weekend travellers who want to enjoy Istambul on foot and during the day. It’s close to all the touristic attractions and have a tram line just 2 minutes away that is handy. Staff is polite and helpful.

The hotel is in a very busy touristic area with small streets and several streets are blocked. Getting in and out on taxi is a problem. Also, it’s an area that shuts down at night and offers almost no options regarding restaurants and nightlife. The rooms are quiet, but the windows have no blackout for the sunlight, so expect brightness early in the morning. I don’t recommend this hotel if you are going to Istanbul on business.

Great location. Situated just outside the grand bazaar and close to Beyazit tram station, so you can get to where you need to go throughout your trip. I initially had booked the standard room which was a bit too small for my liking. The manager was so accommodating and kind and upgraded me to a junior suite at a discounted rate - which was amazing and beautifully designed. Nothing is ever too much for the staff here, they do always go above and beyond to accommodate visitors. Even with small things like travel adaptors! Highly recommended to anyone visiting Istanbul.

We paid €120 to go on the boat and dinner experience. It was a nice atmosphere but not worth the money.

The boat just went out 400 meters and then began to spin in the middle of the bay. It was unsettling and somewhat of a joke. Then the boat managers of the dinner charged our cards 143 euros each instead of 120 each. They claimed it was the credit card company’s charge, so we paid with cash and they said it was the same charge. We had to argue with them to get our money back. So for 240 euros it was not worth the experience.

The location is great. Walkable distance to the Blue Mosque, Grand Bazar , restaurants and the underground. The hotel staff are extremely helpful and kind. They will welcome you with a traditional tea and a big smile. The room was clean and cozy. The breakfast is included in the price - average meals , fruits are the only vegan option. Wi-Fi is available- free of charge. Mini fridges in the rooms are available Lift available. All of the staff members are fluent in English/ Turkish some of them speaks fluent Bulgarian.

The hotel is located in a very central location next to several mosques - the location is great, but sometimes could be very noisy ( especially if you aren’t a morning person)

I had a 5-day trip in early November, and I am so glad I chose this hotel: cute boutique vintage style place with super friendly and helpful staff (Halil - the breakfast waiter is the best). The room was cozy, the bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean and the wi-fi was super good (which is not always the case with other hotels). I had to work through my stay and good Wi-Fi was super important. The breakfast was good, the restaurant is with a beautiful sea view where you could also enjoy a tea/coffee in the afternoon or a glass of wine at night. The location was perfect - very lively street, close to Grand Bazaar and Sultan Ahmed, but also 3 minutes walking distance from the tram and 10 min from the metro, if you decide to explore farther parts of the city. I definitely recommend.

Th neighborhood is vibrant and a bit noisy at night. If you are looking for a quiet place, perhaps look at another neighborhood, but if you are OK with the hustling-bustling vibe - that's a perfect place.
