The location to the castle and city center was great. The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable. In the heat, the room did have a fan for increasing the airflow through the room. The staff was wonderful when we explained that we needed help obtaining a taxi to the train station. Our phones would not make calls (despite having signal) and they coordinated the taxi and kept us informed in the process of coordinating it. It was not a Harry Potter themed hotel, but it did have nods to the series that was filmed at the local attraction.
They send you a message to make a reservation at their restaurant when you make your booking; I would recommend sending this message again closer to when guests are staying. The issue is we had no clue when we would be arriving until the day of. When evening came there was no restaurant in town that had any availability, and their only recommendation was a pizza/ice cream joint next door (that they also own). I would expect, for the price is paid, that a hotel restaurant can accommodate their guests for dinner when nowhere else can. Especially when there were plenty of empty tables.

Superb breakfast and room was immaculate. Really comfy bed, good coffee machine, deep bath and great shower. I had such a good nights sleep! The town is pretty, the accommodation is on a quiet road so very peaceful at night.
They did make any accommodations for residents to be able to eat at the property in the evening. You had to pre book a space in the restaurant and if that was full, you were unable to eat there. It was a shame as it was a last minute decision to break the journey and was hoping relax with dinner and a bath, it wasn't until the booking confirmation came through they mentioned that.

Stayed in Bondgate. Lovely room very comfortable. Our friend stayed in Narrowgate and loved it. Great location. Food (breakfast and evening meal) drink and staff all good. Overall a brilliant weekend and would definitely book again if coming to Alnwick.
Stayed in Bondgate. Only observations were that there was a lot of small drawers in the furniture that were decorative rather than practical but not enough good sized drawers to put clothing and personal items in. Also my wife thought there was not enough good lighting for doing hair and makeup in either the bedroom or ensuite. From my point of view the shower was a bit cramped for such a large ensuite.

The room and bathroom was lovely. The breakfast along with the food we had in the evening after a few cocktails during cocktail time, 5pm to 7pm was excellent, good quality produce used and large portions, we had the skins starter to share, it was massive, definitely enough for a main meal and ambiance of the restaurant was great, the bar did close at 10.30pm, normally we would have found somewhere that opened later but we decided to retire to our room with a couple of cokes and the vodca I had thoughtfully brought in a couple of hip flasks, (always be prepared 😂) and made use of the record player, playing the vinals provided( a good selection, definitely a blast from the past 🤣👍) Parking was easy, but it was a Thursday, and free for 24 hours 👍 which suited us as we was only staying for one night. Where we actually parked was further away from the hotel, but there was parking available closer by. I would definatly recommend staying here, due to the nature of the building you need to be OK with stairs, hopefully we will viset there again during the summer. I was very surprised at how good it was considering it only cost £105 including breakfast of a high quality, the bath robes was also a nice touch. We definitely had an enjoyable evening.
Nothing to not like🤔😀

I had previously visited for food and drinks but finally got to stay and it was definitely worth it Staff were fantastic from check in and showing us to room through the quirky halls and stairways making each area unique Our room was Bondgate with a huge bathroom with roll too bath and shower cubicle. the room had a huge comfy bed, wall mounted TV, dressing table and coffee and tea making facilities too. No noise could be heard from the bar and restaurant while we were in rooms but the floorboards dud freak when others were going to their rooms but that was expected and not a problem Breakfast was included in price and was superb
Nothing springs to mind!

My vegetarian breakfast was lovely, at times both of our breakfasts could have been warmer.
The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times . In particular the lady who booked us in the shaven side was great & carried some bags for us. GSOH ! Dan & Lisa were also great. I had lost a jewellery bag & your member of staff made my day, rang us & posted it off. That made my weekend. Thanks Vicky & Stuart

The room was large and very comfortable. We were in Narrowgate, which although being on the road is very quiet. There is a spacious shower, but no bath, if this is important to you. Coffee and water were refreshed daily. It's an old building, beautifully decorated and furnished and very warm.
There were a couple of maintenance things to look at....the cold water tap and inner door handle needed fixing more firmly, but otherwise we loved everything. Despite the insulation you can hear people in the upper room.

Uniformly excellent from the moment I arrived to check in. Really helpful, friendly hotel team. Lovely spacious room, beautifully decorated and furnished. I really enjoyed the whole feel and look of the hotel, which was top-quality yet nicely quirky. Exceptional dinner (king prawn hanging skewers) at a sensible price and breakfast (Craster kippers). Some of the very best seafood I've ever had!
Nothing!

A beautifully decorated hotel in a great location for exploring Alnwick. The breakfast was delicious and was able to cater for a vegan diet on request. The staff were very helpful and responsive even proper to checking in responding to messages on booking.com and allowing us to drop our bags early (which were then taken to our rooms) and allowing us a later check out. Great staff, great rooms, great food. I could not fault our stay.

comfortable bedroom, spacious, clean. lovely staff.
the dining room tables tended to be too small for 2 couples. the booked breakfasts were very good, but alternative continental breakfasts were lacking variety. it would have been nice to have some pastries, croissants, and a few more choices of serials. although it’s beyond the responsibility of the inn, Alnwick has a problem with noisy cars racing around the old town in the evenings and at night. we witnessed 2 cars driving at 60 to 70 mph over the old bridge by the castle one evening. where are the police? the centre of town also needs traffic calming measures to stop this.
