The breakfast and service provided were exceptional. The room had a stunning appearance and was impeccably clean. The staff exhibited a high level of friendliness and professionalism, and the Welcome booklet in the room proved to be quite useful. The TV was of a generous size, and the lighting options were diverse, catering to various moods and preferences. The check-in and check-out process was seamless.
While I understand that it's an old building, it's worth noting that the soundproofing is quite poor. Consequently, you can hear every noise emanating from the nearest room. While the mattress was excellent, unfortunately, the bed frame, although visually appealing, produces loud squeaks with every movement throughout the night. While using the shower, the noise generated by the extractor fan resembled that of a powerful steam engine.

The staff were incredible from start to finish! They went above and beyond, amongst all expectations. Me and my husband stayed over, as we got married in alnwick. They decorated the room amazing, and the room was beyond clean. The quirkiness, if the room we stayed in the chamber! Wow I cannot explain or put in to words just how remarkable the room was! The dirty bottles restaurant, the food was flawless, and again the staff were just amazing! I would 100% be back thank you so much
Nothing all acceptional

Breakfast cereals offered were not to our taste. We requested muesli and it was supplied the following day.
The double glazing in our bedroom did not close fully, and the upper right hand pane of outer glass was broken. The window was very dirty - perhaps part of the theme? The restaurant menu was a bit 'trendy' for us, but we were delighted to find Sunday roasts on offer that evening - the best evening meal we had. Our room was directly above the restaurant, and was very noisy every evening till 11.30pm or thereabouts.

This is a must for any Harry Potter fan. The decor in the room was HP themed and my son loved everything about it. The whole ambiance was great and added to the stay. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We booked a table for dinner at the restaurant below and the Sunday lunch was one of the best I've had. The breakfast included was fantastic as well. Alnwick Castle was literally around the corner and even though there was an event on, there was no excessive noise. Free parking within walking distance was also an added bonus. It was a long journey for us for one night but, would highly recommend the hotel.

Breakfast was excellent. The menu was in our room and you made the choice the night before. Such a good idea. I had salmon on a muffin and it was a huge serving. Delicious. We booked an evening meal, had a 2 course roast diner the portions were very generous and there was absolutely no room for the 3rd course! The room and bathroom were both lovely and the Elemis minis were appreciated. Location was great for castle and gardens.
The room was on the first floor on the street side of the hotel and there was a wee bit of road noise in the mornings but we knew that to be the case before we went, it was a town centre location so earplugs packed and we were all sorted. Not really a ☹️ as we knew what we were going to and had read other reviews. So don’t book if can’t cope with a wee bit noise. Go book and unappealing room with no character somewhere quiet or In the middle of a field!!!!

We literally traveled from the United States to specifically stay at this hotel. We are doing a two week Harry Potter trip with our children throughout Scotland and England and we’re specifically looking for a Harry Potter themed hotel. It did not disappoint. Harry Potter details EVERYWHERE. Magic EVERYWHERE. Staff- beyond kind. If you love Harry Potter you MUST stay here. Breakfast was large and delicious. We also ate dinner there both nights- fabulous. Drinks- super yum. Please note that both the chateaubriand dish and the T-bone steak dish is enough for at LEAST three people. Also, hotel is unmarked- the entrance is at the bottom of the hill, next to the ice cream shop, through the door to the “Dirty Bottle” bar. It’s located about 500 yards from Alnwick Castle- also a must do, just get tickets in advance (see pics of broom flying class- you can also make tile, soap, play medieval games- So fun!!). You will not be disappointed. Go. Now. In a few days I’ll be posting the whole Harry Potter trip, so check back my Instagram @all_things_kiki to see other places you should go!!

Beautiful hotel, even the hallways upto the rooms were decorated to match the theme, the staff were extremely nice and friendly, we instantly felt welcomed (we don't always get a warm welcome due to being heavily tattooed and pierced) extremely clean and tidy, we had the full English for breakfast and it was perfect and high quality
Only negative feedback I have is that the walls between rooms seem thin, we were kept awake by another guest snoring all night (can't blame the hotel for a snoring guest though) we would still stay again A much appreciated item for the summer months would be some sort of fan/aircon

We loved our stay here! It was fun being above the Dirty Bottles restaurant and we loved the proximity to Alnwick Castle as well as the center of town. And our room was incredible! The subtle Harry Potter decor touches were so fun, and the room was spacious and well-equipped. The included breakfast with menu options was also above and beyond what you'd normally expect with a complimentary breakfast. We wish we could have stayed longer!
We could hear the room next to us quite easily-- it might be helpful to let guests know upon check-in that the walls are thin so to try to keep it down in consideration of their neighbors.

The Inn was homely and what we’d hoped for in terms of decor. Great room and fab bed and bathroom. Room for two in the bath 😂. Staff were really friendly and worked hard to make our sultry a good one. Shout out to the young lad who served us at dinner, which was delicious, advised that the cheese board we were both considering ordering was big enough for 2, then found us port in the cellar. Ben? Sorry, I forgot your name. The management too, when we had a problem, were fantastic. I can’t recommend this place more highly, and would definitely stay again.
Nothing to complain about at all. Gun to head, the stairs were really narrow and I gashed my arm on the exposed brickwork, carrying my case, but it wasn’t an issue.

Beautiful building and decor, with amazing location.
Other guests very loud (we had a child so we’re respectful of others with noise). As it is an old building there is no soundproofing so if you’re bothered by noise this may be a problem, and the fire doors slam loudly too. Didn’t bother me but my partner is a light sleeper. Room was very hot in spite of turning radiators off, but the fan in the room helped.
