Location is unreal - thought we were in the wrong place at first but it’s next to the train station, 5 min journey to Cambridge centre. You can also get bus in for £2 which takes about 20 min. Uber is about £10 to and from the centre. We hired scooters for 20p a minute which are unreal for seeing the city centre and canals.
Free parking would be nice. One lift was out of action as well so we took the stairs sometimes as it’s quicker than waiting for the lift.

This was my second time staying here for my birthday (last year and this year). I love this hotel, so fresh, clean, good looking and great facilities.
The guy on reception was very unwelcoming. I'm not sure why he has the job of a receptionist if he clearly doesn't like people. I wish I caught his name, but he was working both at the time I checked in and when I checked out and neither time did he say anything, he didn't welcome us to the hotel, he hardly spoke at all, in fact, he spoke so little that it was rude and I ended up being sarcastic by saying Thank you and Bye loudly as he said absolutely nothing! Honestly, why on earth would you put someone like that on reception? Incredibly rude and giving Novotel a bad name!

Location next to Cambridge north train was convenient for me. There was a number 2 bus that was easy to get to and from town. The gym is good.
The first room faced the railway and I’m a very fussy light sleeper so asked for a room facing the other side. That all went well but they gave me a room for wheelchair access which had lots of signs of wear and tear and was in need of some refreshment. The shower had a few hairs left from a previous guest which was off putting. Then there was as a stain in the bottom sheet of the bed. I’m sure they were washed etc and it was just a stain that didn’t come out. Nevertheless it would be nice if the person making the bed had caught it. The seat of the chair also had stains on it. Finally: why do all hotels have such yucky foam pillows? Can’t they after an option of feather….?

Nice room, nice beds, fantastic shower. great pool/sauna/gym. Can order food to hotel, breakfast was brilliant. Co op opposite is really handy. Room has a fridge which was a brilliant idea too. Great for kids/familes. Had a relaxing break here. Right next to the train station.
The meet and greet was terrible. Room wasnt ready then had to pay over £10 for 3 soft drinks whilst we waited for the room to be ready. Wasnt a nice start to our break & even my kids noticed it. Really deflated our excitement for our anticipated break. Staff mainly good but depends on who you get. Restaurant automatically applies a 10% service charge but we had to get up several times for attention even though the Restaurant was empty. Had to twice request more toilet paper/more pillows as a family room and 5 pillows. Complimentary waters missing on arrival in the room. Attention to detail, not quite there sadly.

Good size very comfortable room and bed. The best breakfast with lots of choice although hopeless toaster! Nice friendly staff, plus nice pool and sauna. Dog friendly and big station car park next to hotel. We loved Cambridge and the hotel was a great price compared to the ones in town so we came back for another night!
Unfortunately we went during half term and the pool was overrun with children in the evening with no adult only hours which was a shame as we had chosen the hotel for some R&R after all day sight seeing. Also if you want a dressing gown to be able to walk down to pool, and it’s a longish walk, ask for a premium room. The staff were very kind and upgraded us as I had had breast surgery and wasn’t comfortable changing in a small area with so many children around as there was no privacy. It’s about 15 minute drive into Cambridge and although station right next to hotel, the station in town is still quite a long way from the centre so I’d say use the bus as there is a stop right opposite the hotel.

The hotel was so lovely, very clean, cosy and comfortable. We loved the heated pool and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was my birthday trip and the staff decorated my room with balloons and left me a birthday message and sweet treats which made me feel very special. The room was also beautiful and so spacious!
We did miss having a hot jacuzzi and the sauna was broken during our stay. The access to the pool was also tricky as you had to get a daily key to get in as the key access with your usual hotel key was broken. Breakfast was nice but I have a dairy allergy and the allergens weren’t clearly listed on the items like some other hotels.

First of all - the staff, especially Genni who is a star of the hotel and made us feel at home from the very second we entered the hotel. I am only saddened that I didn't get to say goodbye! The breakfast was very good, tasty and fresh. The location although a bit far from the centre is very well connected via the train and bus. It makes the travel from and to Stansted easy as well as getting to Cambrige with the bus that is going quite often.
I am not a big fan of "open bathrooms" that only have a glass door. While it can certainly bring some people closer it is not a very comfortable option in my personal opinion. The breakfast, although very good, has limited selection that might feel a bit repetative if you are staying in the hotel for a longer time.

Our stay was incredible! The hotel had a great location, and the upgrade was a lovely surprise—it was absolutely stunning. The space was fantastic, and the thoughtful touch of a bowl, towel, and ball for our dog made it even more special. The pool was a great feature, especially as it stayed open until 9, giving the kids a chance to burn off some energy. Parking - roughly £9 a night which is apart of the stations carpark but it’s safe and right in front of the hotel- you can pay for the duration of your stay instead of hourly which was good allowing you to come and go from the carpark and not being charged several times. The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and always greeted us with a smile. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!
Overall, it was a great stay! The only comments would be that the bar and restaurant were a little pricey, breakfast was just okay, and we would have preferred an actual coffee instead of using the vending machine—but that’s just a personal preference, sink kept getting blocked which was a little frustrating but was fixed.

Nice modern fresh building and shop opposite was useful. Near bus and train services easy to get into Cambridge.
During the day we were quite hungry on the first night and there was nothing suitable to eat. It was fairly late and in between Christmas and New Year fair enough but there was a buffet on that was £30 per head. I personally thought that was too expensive for what was there? We just wanted a burger and chips and would’ve been happy to have spent £10 something like that. Saying that we went to the shop which was opposite, which was well stocked and managed to get some pasta and sandwiches there.

Comfortable, spacious and well appointed rooms. Good selection of food at breakfast. Nice pool. Friendly and helpful staff.
Parking wasn't ideal. It cost £13 per night and it was not obvious where the car park was on arrival in the dark. After a bit of circling around, we nipped in and asked at reception and were told to go to the station car park which the hotel shares. Would have been good if this had been made clearer on the road in as we couldn't see any signs that indicated where we needed to park.
