Hotel was located in the center by the coast, fabulous view from the room. Room was spacious and clean. Amenities provided. Toilet was spacious and bright too. Alison's service was excellent, from the time we check in till we are out. Very friendly and welcoming. Free parking right outside the hotel. Breakfast was nice.

Room was a little stuffy and warm even when a fan was provided. Did not manage to open the window as there were too many insects flying in.

Lovely old hotel in a fantastic location. Large rooms with a big comfy bed and everything you need for an overnight stay. Staff were all great and very helpful.

In my humble opinion, a little overpriced but i get that there are not a lot of hotels in that area so the hotels get away with the pricing. Our trip was very last minute so we had no alternative to pay what they asked as everywhere else was full apart from The Royal and that was probably due to the cost.

Lovely room, and there being a lift was a real boon to my husband, who is a stroke survivor and struggles with stairs.

Not too impressed with the breakfast. The waitress who served us was lovely, and very friendly, but given that we paid more for breakfast than we did for dinner, it wasn't as good as you'd expect for the price paid. The hot water (for tea) wasn't nearly hot enough, and you couldn't help yourself to toast etc. as you can in other (cheaper) hotels.

We were arriving a bit late. The lady working the desk called to make sure we were getting along alright and then inquired if we had anything to eat. She said the restaurant was closing right about when we planned to arrive. I told her not to worry about it and we went on ahead. Once we arrived she said she kept the restaurant open for us so we could have a meal. This is exceptional customer service and we are very grateful.

Excellent staff. Warm friendly welcome. Young lady on reception could not have been more helpful. Restaurant staff friendly and made being served good fun. Very good quality food and generous portions. Bedroom clean and comfortable with a great view of the harbour, good size bathroom.

Nothing.

We had a superb 2 night stay here. This hotel is wonderful. It sits opposite the harbour and has plenty of street parking outside. Our room was magnificent, so spacious and comfortable, with a large bed and a sitting area with a table, tv and two nice armchairs. The bathroom was well equipped with both a bath and a modern walk in shower. There was a breakfast buffet for cereals fruit and coffee, full cooked breakfast was served at your table. There was a good choice of evening meals. I wish I could have stayed longer, it was so lovely.

Lovely staff, clean comfortable room, street parking across the road. The bathroom and shower were modern and spacious. Visiting relatives so did not use hotel’s dining room. The views from our window out on to the harbour, water and the hills above the town were exceptional.

Lighting in the room could have been brighter.

Grand old hotel apparently quite recently renovated, in a perfect central location by the Old Quay. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent cooked breakfast.

Although the room was a decent enough size for two people, the lighting was extremely dim and there was relatively little space to put our things when unpacked. Also, beware the noise from drunken pub patrons late on a Saturday night: The Black Sheep, Campbeltown's main nightspot, is part of the hotel.

Lovely staff and especially Maggie- Anne she was lovely. Everyone in Campbeltown were brilliant and so friendly and welcoming. We had an amazing stay made all teh better by the weather which was glorious.

The hotel is getting a bit tired now with various furniture a bit battered.

Jo on reception was kind enough to call to check on our journey and planned route due to the weather conditions and advise us of road closures on one route we were thinking about. consequently, we took the Gourock-Dunoon and Portavadie-Tarbert route and avoided most of the snow. The room was very comfortable, the staff kind and thoughtful and we enjoyed the food.
