This was our 2nd visit and once again, it exceeded our expectations! Our room this time was in one of the "cottages" rather than in the main hotel. Equally nice, but lovely not to carry the luggage upstairs! The cottage was large, the bed so very comfortable the room had everything we needed from iron, ironing board, bottled water, coffee, hairdryer plenty of hangers-just perfect! Parking was right outside the door. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful with many options. Great vegetarian sausages. Service is above and beyond always in reception and breakfast. After we checked out and drove two hours away, we couldn't find our medication so called back and they searched the trash even to find it...we did find it in one of our bags so grateful they were willing to help. Housekeeping is fabulous and certainly on a Friday night went above and beyond. We'll see them again next trip to the area.

We did not have more than one night!

Room was clean and well presented. All advertised facilities present and working. Staff were friendly and accommodated an early breakfast for those of us attending a local air show and needed an early departure time. Good breakfasts.

No evening meal service [as advised prior to booking]. We used the local pub, The Artichoke, which was only a short walk away and was excellent but not as convenient as a hotel restaurant. Our room was on the top floor and was very hot despite windows open.

Fabulous hotel, i was greeted by a lovely lady who was very friendly and gave me lots of good advice on local amenities. I stayed in one of the single room which was excellent for the price with a super comfortable bed only small downside was shared bathroom but i knew this before booking, there was a lovely common room if you wanted to sit and relax down stairs there is no alcohol served in the hotel but you can bring your own, there is also another room with a micro wave and other kitchen items you can use if you have got your own food and want to warm it up ect. Breakfast was fantastic full english and cereals, also homemade marmalade which was lovely, and lots of teas and coffees. I can definitely recommend this hotel to other guests

Susan and her team were very welcoming and pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious and the hotel provided a nice family atmosphere. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and Moulton is a lovely village - quite a hidden gem. Great parking and we would highly recommend this hotel.

Honestly, there really wasn't anything we didn't like about the hotel, Susan and her team or the location. We couldn't find fault at all.

The welcome was lovely- felt like a home from home. The breakfast was brilliant- really tasty full English cooked breakfast as well as a buffet. We had a nearly 2 year old and she was treated like a princess, she was made to feel so welcome and absolutely loved her stay too. We were slightly late for check in and this was accommodated really well following a phone call beforehand.

Everything was extremely pleasant. I didn't have an ensuite, but I knew that when I chose my room. There was an option for not much more cost, but I am a bit cheap. I was shocked and surprised at how beautiful the hotel was and the immediate surrounding area. At least 3 pubs, 2 shops and a chip shop with a quaint village feel to the place. I was invited by reception to bring food back where they'd supply plates and cutlery. I opted to eat out and took the advice to try the artichoke, where I ate my fish n chips in the beautiful garden. I wasn't particularly hungry but the food was literally to die for, quite possibly the best fish and the best chips I've ever had, ever! Getting back to review the hotel, I'd forgot breakfast was included and it starts at 7, which was ideal for me. Well, what can I say. The staff were exceptional and I'd go as far to say the breakfast was better. It was possibly the best breakfast I've ever had, ever! I genuinely don't give good reviews easily but I would 100% recommend this place to anyone and will definitely go back if I'm in the area again.

Not good for my diet as the food was delicious. I don't think I've ever had a GF sausage but my goodness I love them now. I'm tempted to take the wife for a short break just to revisit the place.....and maybe eat a bit more than I probably should.

Very friendly staff. Cracking breakfast and a very comfortable room. There was onsite parking and it was very close to where our event was. If you are looking for a modern, sterile hotel, this is not for you but if you like something with a bit of character then I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Nothing to complain about. Our rooms bath was out of order but as I only ever shower this was not an issue.

The hotel was quaint and charming. Susan was very friendly and accommodating. She came back to let us check in after 9pm when we arrived and allowed us a bit more time to leave before checking out. This was much appreciated. The double bed was comfortable and there were 2 more pillows for us to use, which was nice. My children’s room had a double bed and a single bed. Their room was bigger and had a nice sofa too. They had a dressing table with a good sized mirror. We had a full vegetarian English breakfast which was lovely. The cook was very friendly and eager to help. Susan made sure the eggs and veggie sausages were cooked separately. P.s I received a message saying I’ve left something behind and they will post it! That’s amazing!

We had a dressing table and chair but the room was smaller than I anticipated and the mirror wasn’t very big or clear, so I got ready in my children’s room. Our electric shower didn’t have much power and it was lukewarm at best. My children had a normal gas shower but again the water pressure wasn’t strong. We were on the top floor, in the eves so that’s probably why the showers had less pressure. Our heated towel radiator in the bathroom was off even when I switched it on. We had 2 radiators in the room- one was hot and one wasn’t working. Most of these things can be fixed and if we stayed another night I’m sure the hotel owner would have been able to do something about it.

Beautiful hotel, fantastic staff & awesome breakfasts. Everybody we met from management to cleaners were friendly & helpful, felt like a home from home :) Will definitely be returning & recommending The Poplars to family & friends.

There was nothing to dislike about this hotel, if pushed for a negative i`d say that maybe the garden/ smoking area could benefit from a little tidy up & refresh, but that`s probably just me as a fussy avid gardener who spend the majority of my free time pottering in my garden :).

Fantastic location and the lady who owned it was so welcoming, friendly & funny! It was lovely and clean, not noisy at all, comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful. Will definitely return when in area.

Only thing I can think of is when I showered in the evening not much water came out the shower so took a long time to rinse hair. It was ok for my friend tho next morning
