We liked everything about our short stay. Went to a wedding nearby and needed a place in Royston for a night. Our room had everything we needed. It was spacious, very clean, very quiet and looked very recently refurbished. It had a shared bathroom, but we never saw anybody else using it. Came with a massive shower and a separate toilet too. Breakfast was very tasty and affordable. Very friendly owner. Smooth check-in and check-out. Walking-distance to the train station and town centre. Would happily stay again if in the area again!

Exceptional refurbishment. Spotlessly clean, fresh white bed linen, fluffy white towels, comfortable beds (albeit there was only one room available when I booked with twin beds). Water available in main fridge, coffee/tea making facilities in room. Very easy check in; individual envelopes for all guests. Staff very friendly. Continental breakfast included although I didn't stay to eat this, it did look appetising!

Twin bedded room with no ensuite (only room available when I booked). However, the shared bathroom/WC was huge and newly refurbished and there was a separate WC which I understand is only shared between two rooms.

The owner was very accommodating and helpful, which really made my stay easy and worry free. I reached out regarding the check in time and was able to check in outside of the hours on booking.com which I really appreciated. There was also a helpful information sheet when I checked in.

Some rooms have a shared bathroom and a shared toilet, this is fine especially given the excellent price point, but it does mean the shower can be contested in the morning.

The house is well maintained and exceptionally clean. Wonderful beds and linen. We took the 4 bed room with the kids and everything was spotless. There was a kettle and tea in the room. We stayed a single night.

There is some traffic in the morning depending on which windows were open. It was quite hot outside and we needed to open all windows to get air moving. Perhaps a fan for the hottest nights will work better.

A great location (I was able to walk into town - unexpected benefit as I hadn't studied the map before booking!). A very warm welcome indeed by Maire. My room had a shared bathroom but there is also a separate toilet. The bathroom is beautifully done and the shower was very spacious and nice and hot. Maire is an exceptional host and cooked me a tasty breakfast plus a friendly chat :)

Nothing really, would have liked my own bathroom but there are some ensuite rooms available, so next time I might choose one of those.

Lovely and clean, well equipped single room. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was excellent

Single bed had a foot board so I couldn’t hang my feet over the end. Not a problem for most and not a problem for the night I slept there. Might be a consideration for when the bed needs changing.

Good location, nice parking spot. Food is good and the service impecable. Maire, the tenant, is very careful for all details. The room and bathroom were very clean. Free WiFi OK. TV in the room.

Noise from main road. We had read previous reviews, so we took a fan with us, closed the windows, and slept well.

We were so happy to have booked Magnolia House. We stayed in the family room which was spotless and very comfortable with coffee and tea making facilities and a lovely shower. Position excellent, in a quiet location and lots of parking if needed.

There was nothing we didn't like.

Our stay was great! The room was nicely furnished, clean and comfortable. The cooked breakfast was delicious- one of the best we’ve had recently. The hosts were really friendly. Good location from the centre of Royston, in walking distance - we were staying for a wedding nearby. Parking available outside for free. Bathroom was really clean and there was a separate toilet as well to the main bathroom so this wasn’t a problem.

Nothing but to be really really picky the water pressure for the shower could be better.
