Location was really good, my wedding venue was only a 20 minute drive away. We stayed in the stables opposite the main house, it had a homelike feel to it. Very cosy, very clean and had all the amenities we needed. Extra perks that there was a bathroom upstairs and downstairs! So no hogging for anyone. James rang a few hours prior to check in to make sure we were good and allowed us to self check in as we were coming in a little late. I didn't get to meet James myself but one of my bridesmaids who dropped the key off said he was very kind and accommodating.
It's not a fault to the accommodation at all. There is a beautiful beam that goes across the top room upstairs. Guest just have to be slightly wary not to walk into it or walk up and hit there heads

We were welcomed very warmly, James is a very kind host. The studio we stayed in had everything we needed (tea and coffee-supplies and even some cereals). It was really cozy and lovingly furnished. The beautiful town of Wells is just a few-minutes-drive away and you can also easily reach Bath or Bristol if you want. Only a short walk away from The Old Parsonage there is a pub with very good food and vis-Ã -vis there is a small shop where you can find everything you might need. Also, Somerset has a very lovely landscape where you can take nice walks.

Self catering : very clean, comfortable, really nice facilities (bathroom, kitchen), plenty of parking, very nice shower! We were made to feel very welcome. Milk in the fridge, some tea and coffee. Location good, co-op very close, petrol station close. Plenty to do and see in the area. We had a very nice stay.
Just comments, not criticisms: bed too short for tall husband, so wife had to sleep on the settee (it was very comfortable, so no problems, no suggestion that places should cater for people's height!). The bathroom could do with a chair/ stool to put clothing on rather than having to put it on the toilet. All very minor.

We have stayed before some time ago and the were returning for a wedding locally. We were met by James the owner who was charming and friendly . The hotel is a period built house and has the characteristics of a stately home. Beautiful paintings, period furniture grand fireplaces. All in all a very welcoming ambience. The room was superbly appointed with views to the well kept gardens. A wonderfully comfortable four poster bed awaited and a delightful ensuite completed the room. The bed was comfortable and the pillows just right. Breakfast was served the next morning and everything one could possibly require was available. Croissants, yogurt, cereals, cooked breakfast, vegan etc were all on offer. The dining room and food was exceptional. All in all an excellent stay and we will most definitely be returning very soon. By far the best hotel we have stayed in recently and we travel a lot. A massive thanks to James for saving the day with Green ribbon...the wedding was superb
Nothing. Perfect from arrival to departure.

I don't usually make reviews but this property was truly exceptional! Our welcome was relaxed but professional, informative and with a thorough explanation of the property, room facilities and arrangements for breakfast. We were able to choose our breakfast time and the system in place to organise dining room space made breakfast a peaceful and lovely experience- we felt very spoiled!! Breakfast itself was huge with a wonderful comprehensive array of foods which were beautifully presented- pastries and breads etc were presented like an afternoon tea! There were very high end jams, honey and soft fruits etc... cooked breakfast was cooked to order and again a very high standard. Itself The property has been carefully and lovingly restored with its history and character in mind. Our host gave us a fascinating history of the house and had gone to the trouble of having resources in the sitting room for further reading if interested (and the history was very interesting!). There was a thoughtful honesty box which we didn’t use but thought was a lovely touch. Attention to detail from the communal rooms to the bedroom (ours was the George room) and bathroom were fabulous. Our host when asked gave us really useful advice on the local pubs/places to eat and was spot on with the recommendations.. we came away for some time somewhere a little bit special and this property was absolutely definitely that and more!!! Do not hesitate.. book…This is an absolute gem! Thank you for making our trip such a special one!
Nothing at all!

We had the most wonderful overnight stay at The Old Parsonage. Emilie gave us a warm welcome and some great suggestions of where to eat out in the area if we fancied it. We had been out for a birthday lunch, and felt so at home and comfortable immediately that we didn't end up venturing anywhere. We stayed in one of the self catering studio apartments and had visited the lovely local farm shop down the road en route to get a few supplies for dinner. Everything was spotlessly clean. The kitchenette was well kitted out. We really appreciated the milk in the fridge and coffee and tea, and breakfast oats/cereal on offer. The Old Parsonage has a very relaxing atmosphere and you can't help but feel like you're on holiday as soon as you arrive. We will definitely be back.

We stayed at the Stable - a fabulous self catered apartment that can sleep 4. It is artfully decorated, comfy and inviting. And the little details - tea and espresso, milk in the fridge and some snacks just in case made our days even lovelier. The owner is very knowledgeable about the area and recommended some exceptional days out. Ask him for a tour of the main house too! The history of the place makes it all the more charming. Also, there is a car charger on the premises.
Nothing!

Everything. The studio room had everything you could need for a comfortable stay. We stayed 2 nights and it was one of the best places we have stayed and included all the facilities you could need. James & Emille were great and were there to meet us. Told us lots of information about the area, and recommended places to eat. Beds, pillows and duvet set were very comfy, my wife even ordered the same set when we got home. Thanks James & Emille, 1st class, we would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

The old parsonage is a beautiful Manor House, with all original features, James has really preserved its history within the walls, the bedrooms are immaculate and the bed super comfy, and the homemade breakfast in the morning is absolutely delicious, james was so friendly and told us all about its history and all of the features in the home, he is really proud of his lovely house and it shows, if your looking for a lovely intimate stay then this is the place for you!
