It was a lovely self contained space. Finishing touches so nicely done! We literally used it as an overnight base but really appreciated the welcome we had, and would certainly use again if going that way! Delicious choices for breakfast...and very generous portions...and we only had the freshly made bacon sandwiches on yummy malted bread?! Steve and Cara were both very friendly and obviously enjoy their business; and have thoughtfully designed each room with a comfortable double bed, small fridge/kettle area, little table & two chairs with board games available, plus a sliding door into a shower room. There was parking; and outside benches too, if you had time to relax & sit outside! They are situated on the A30 just outside Honiton - so accessible to the town, countryside, and seaside. As this is a busy road there was a bit of road noise if the window was open...but that was to be expected...would recommend a stay here :)

Very clean and homely. Lots of attention given to guests experience with interesting books and games placed in the rooms. We had a great night sleep, largely thanks to a comfy bed and quiet room - it's situated close to the main road, but we didn't notice Breakfast was served at a dedicated table in the room itself as no communal area. We actually preferred this. We preordered a cooked breakfast from a menu the night before and it was brought to us at the prearranged time in the morning along with some fresh juice - tea and freshly ground coffee options are already available in the room along with cereals. The owners are very friendly and helpful and provided contact numbers in case we need anything. The room also had local information board with taxi, food delivery numbers, and suggestions on where to go for dinner locally. There are lots of these little touches in the room, like the board games and interesting books, that set it apart from your normal hotel or B&B and show the owners actually care about your stay, not just that you've paid and you have your bed. They want you to enjoy your time there, and we did, even if it was a short stay. Overall this is a fantastic option if you are considering visiting the Jurassic Coast or surrounding area. Clean room, comfy bed, wonderful breakfast, friendly owners, great price. Will be back for sure

I have travelled the world and have seldom been made so welcomed and looked after. First class service in helping me get the best out of my regrettably short stay. I had to leave too early for the delicious sounding full breakfast, menu was in the room for you to choose your cooked breakfast. I was very kindly cooked something at 10 pm so that I could eat breakfast as a take away. I was helped with my luggage and the room was fabulously comfortable with a courtyard outside, little table and chairs to sit in or out, fairy lights in the trees where a magical sight on such a damp, cold night when I arrived. Even though it was July (!) the heating had been put on to warm the room for me.

I didn't like not being able to stay for a week!

Monkton court house was a joy from start to finish. we were so at home we didn’t want to leave. everything you could need, and more, was provided in the room. it was spotlessly clean and the bed linen and towels were of beautiful quality, so clean and fresh, and they smelt amazing!! The room was really quirky in terms of decor which we loved, Cara has obviously spent an absolute fortune on cushions!Stunning they are too! Full English breakfast was delicious on both mornings of our stay, which was delivered to our room. We stayed in Birch room, which is the closest room to the road, but we wasn’t aware of any road noise at all, but once we got in the extremely comfortable bed we were out like a light. what a glorious sleep. I think Cara and her husband have taken a masterclass in how to run a B&B, in fact, they should give lessons. We travel often and this was one of the best stays we have had for the amount we paid.

Superb accomodation with beautiful clean decor, loved having breakfast served in room, lots of choices available... Host was lovely very friendly....great attention to detail. Perhaps a couple teaspoons next time please and a top up of shower gel...which was empty and I forgot!!! But the rest was superb and very good value for money. Would recommend and return and made our dig very welcome

Unfortunately it's right on a busy road and as a warm may evening had to keep window closed due to traffic sound, but that was the only real negative.. Shame though. Many more positives to praise.

Note that my rating is all high, but this is because Cara and Steve really know how to cater for others. My stay was great and peaceful. I would've liked to stay longer but be sure I will only stay there if I get the opportunity to be in the area again. Upon arrival, Cara showed me my room. The room was clean and neat. The bath was very comfortable as well as the bed. You don't hear a thing around you and can sleep without noise. Breakfast was devine ... I really got to give them extra points on the breakfast....all was cooked and done to my perfection. I would really recommend them to anyone. Thank you again Monkton Court House

Everything, basically! Great comms beforehand; easy to find; plenty of parking and a friendly, efficient welcome. The room was very well equipped - and immaculate. The breakfast choice was wide and the food was fresh and well cooked. But the real selling point was the friendliness and helpfulness of Cara and Steve. Nothing was too much trouble and they really did seem pleased to see us and do one or two favours. They're just natural hosts and we can only wish them every success and happiness. Oh, and the dogs are great too!!

The hosts Cara and Steve were incredible. Friendly and approachable, they provided breakfasts in the morning and helped us with taxi firms as we were in the area for a wedding. Room was cosy and the bed was very comfortable. Nice hot shower. Room was private facing a small courtyard also. Plenty of room for secure parking also.

A tiny personal thing which should not detract from an amazing stay with lovely hosts. I had picked a pet friendly room and the room did smell a little bit of dogs. Enough that we both noticed. However, that is going to happen when you pick a pet friendly room so it's only a minor detail. Plus the hosts had a perfumed room spray available and they have rooms that aren't pet friendly so it's certainly not a major problem.

We travelled to Devon for a wedding and stayed at Monkton Court for 2 nights. It was absolutely perfect, Cara, the owner, was so lovely and welcoming and got us checked in super quick. Our room was clean, well stocked with everything we needed, coffee, milk, orange juice etc We had the most delicious hot cooked breakfast delivered to our room both mornings and the whole experience was just fantastic. We will absolutely be booking to go back with our dog!

Found Monkton Court by chance. We were looking for a place to stay as wedding nearby. Monkton Court is a top rate spot. Owners bent over backwards to get our room ready, we booked taxi from there, we had time to drop stuff off before we left for wedding. Really comfy bed, loved the facilities, smashing breakfast... Poached eggs were top rate! Hosts were welcoming and helpful. Thank you Monkton Court for making the wedding extra special.
