Kerrington House

Very comfortable stay, and the additional touches such as fresh water bottles in your room each day was great. The breakfast menu was extensive and the service was excellent. The guest lounge was very comfortable with the added bonus of a drinks bar, which included soft drinks based on a honesty box approach.

Although the facilities on offer were excellent the bar prices were a little steep - something to review, however this did not distract from what was a lovely stay.

We loved every aspect of our stay here. We only spent one night but it was such a welcoming and comfortable place. The rooms are very spacious and well cared for, the bed was super comfy too. Excellent, full sized bathroom which you won't usually get in a typical hotel. The owner, fiona, was extremely helpful and attentive. She was doing an excellent job of caring for all the guests on her own that weekend. Breakfast was delicious and so much choice. The setting is great too, just set back off a main road but you wouldn't know it, feels very rural. Ideal spot for visiting the many beautiful towns and villages nearby. Will definitely return.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious and so generous I'm afraid we could not even finish it. We really enjoyed being in a comfortable room with a good bathroom. As we were in a room at the back of the house it was quiet which was just what we needed. I came by car but my daughter used the train from London. We chose Axminster so we could meet up there from different starting points.

I honestly can't think of anything to suggest. There was even a radio in our room - bliss! So often rooms are dominated by vast televisions, this one was a reasonable size. There was a comfortable sofa on which we sat and read. We were given a good recommendation for our evening meal.

The check in was easy and welcoming. We had 2 rooms arranged so family could share and care was taken to prepare the rooms. Exceptional decor, bathrooms and the guest lounge was great for us to meet together as we'd travelled from afar to meet together. The range of honesty box drinks in the lounge was exceptional and very well displayed. Classy. The breakfast selection was extraordinary and the service exemplary , checking whether we were ok or wanted more. No sense of being rushed.

If there had been a family room available where 2 parents and two kids aged 11, + 14 could sleep .

Warm, comfy room. Super soft feather-filled duvet and pillows. We had room No. 1 Camelia which was at the side of the house. There was a chaise-longe in the bay window which was lovely to relax on, while admiring the views. Breakfast was good (my husband was specially pleased to be offered haddock) I particularly liked the crisp, white table linen - a tad old fashioned, but it went with the whole ambience of the house. We will definitely return. A great stop-over while visiting the Lyme Regis area.

I have been staying at Kerrington House for over 15 years now, whenever I have visited the area. During that time, Fiona's commitment to providing the best possible customer experience has been consistent. Immaculately clean, beautifully furnished rooms and a magnificent breakfast combine to make staying here a pleasure. The AA's 5-star rating is well deserved!

Nothing I could find fault with.Five star excellence in Axminster

We booked Kerrington House in order to be able to visit Lyme Regis en route back to Brighton from a trip to Cornwall and chose this particular B and B as it had such good reviews. We were impressed with the grandeur of the house from the moment we parked up. The attractive building and well-kept grounds were pleasing to see as we drove in. When we entered the front door with our suitcases, we were immediately given a warm welcome by our host - and Beatrice the dog. We were genuinely delighted with the character of the property. It is a really comfortable place to stay with a lovely drawing room/lounge for guests. The bedrooms were spacious and extremely clean. Our son-in law loved the view from his bedroom and said that the bath in the ensuite was amazing! He loves National Trust homes and felt he was staying in such a place at Kerrington House. He did comment that this b and b had been his favourite of all those we had stayed at in the past week. Breakfast in the beautiful morning room overlooking the garden was delightful and sitting at the table in the window was an extra treat. The choice of cereals, teas, coffees, juices, etc. was exceptional and the hot food amazing - with every part of the full English being perfectly cooked. Service by the owners two daughters was just perfect ! Lovely to be able to see the food being prepared through an adjoining window - which shows a lot of confidence in the food preparation! The Cadburys chocolate eggs on our table for Easter was another lovely touch which was very much appreciated! The whole family enjoyed their stay at this wonderful and very professionally run B and B - and we would definitely recommend it as a place to stay.

For myself, I felt the room we had at the top of the house was a little over-crowded with the additional bed in but I do recognise that other people would appreciate the opportunity to have it as a family room - and it was just that we didn't need that.

Our superior double room was excellent value for money. The room contained everything you could imagine you would need, from a small fan heater to individually wrapped cotton buds. The four poster bed was stunning. Breakfast was delicious and the team were very courteous, friendly and helpful throughout.

We couldn't figure out how to make the shower run hot and there were only two tissues left in the tissue box...this was all we could pick up though, so overall a really lovely experience!

The size of the rooms and gardens are very impressive. It is an absolutely superb property,well maintained by Fiona and her staff. Could not fault the cleanliness or the food, if u were there any length of time u would turn Into a Mr/Mrs Billy bunter.. It is one exceptional place !!!.

There is nothing there not to like

Kerrington House has a good location, near enough to be convenient for Axminister but not so near that traffic is a problem. It was a fine property and, indeed, luxurious. The breakfasts were excellent - a wide choice, cooked to order and very good. The staff were friendly. It was a good environment with a nice lawn. The room was good and I had a good night's sleep.

People were very helpful and friendly. I honestly cannot think of any improvements.
