After an initial problem with the room we had a wonderful stay. Some of the rooms have not been refurbished yet and we were put in one of these rooms. After speaking to hotel reception and an upgrade we were moved to a newly refurbished room that we were more than happy with. I didn’t get the receptionist name but she did a fabulous job of sorting it out for us. We loved it…room was great and the breakfast was delicious…they had a pancake maker, something I’ve never seen before. Food was hot, fresh & tasty.

I feel the rooms that haven’t been refurbished should be shut off now until they have been done as the one we initially had wasn’t worthy of a 2 star hotel. I would rather have stayed in a travelodge than that room. Please don’t use them until they are worthy of the 4 stars advertised or it will only get you bad reviews.

We stayed here for 3 nights when we were visiting family 21st- 24th dec 2024. We found the hotel to be very welcoming and the staff were very helpful to any enquiries. There was an excellent breakfast selection my particular favourite being the pancake making machine to make yourself fresh pancakes. There are two places within the hotel that you can have a drink and a top quality meal. These are the stables pub and the Convive restaurant. The rooms are clean and of a high standard with a nice selection of teas and coffees. We stayed in a deluxe room which was spacious bright and warm. We will definitely stay here again as we visit our family as often as we can (we live on the IOW) highly recommend this establishment to anyone visiting leeds as it is within easy distance of the many amenities that leeds has to offer.

The only thing we would have preferred would have been a walkin shower rather than a shower over the bath, but that is just our personal tastes.

Breakfast was splendid, I especially liked the honeycomb and freshly baked pastries. The fresh fruit bowl was the same on both days we stayed of berries which was not a favourite of mine but there was enough variety to have other fresh fruit options. The staff were all welcome and friendly, especially both head of service on breakfasts on the 23 & 24 November & the gentleman on reception of the evenings / nights of the same two days. Thank you

I was not aware that pets were welcome until I was at the property. This was not an issue for me but this could have been an issue with friends who have allergies. They were separated at breakfast and hopefully they have separate bed room policies for these. Our room was nearest the elevator and the corridor noise throughout the stay was noticeable.

Room was very nice and comfy with good facilities. The coffee machine was a welcome bonus and very much appreciated. The dog bed, bowl and biscuits for the dog were wonderful - he had a fabulous time. Great location too. Lovely hotel with lovely staff.

Didn't like the soap/shower gel that was in the bathroom and I would of really liked a shower cap to be provided. The shower was fine but did not like the shower curtain - a glass screen would be preferable but appreciate it is just personal choice. There were not really any issues just a couple of minor things that did not spoil our weekend at all.

The bed was comfortable and I slept exceptionally well as the room was almost silent. I did not have any meals as I was out most of the time with friends. The bedroom and bathroom had everything needed. I particularly liked being able to choose not to have my room serviced and in return, received a £5 voucher per day to spend in the restaurant or bar - I shall use these on a future visit. There was plenty of surface space on which to put things. The room light was good enough to read in bed. I liked being able to open the bedroom windows as the weather was warm.

The chair to sit in the evening watching tv was adequate but not very comfortable over an extended period. The tea and coffee provisions were minimal - but I could have requested more.

Breakfast when got in was pretty good but seee below.

Took15 minutes to check in - only one staff on duty. Second floor room - shower a dribble at best - unacceptable. Breakfast wait - 15 then about 20 minute wait second day caused 100% by lack of staff. One oldish person (worked so hard) and one other clearing tables etc. Felt sorry for them. Breakfast - no pastries or other breads other both mornings. Not the two staff on duty fault but complete lack of resourcing by hotel. Same in bar in evening - minimal staff. I do not expet to wait for 7 munutes for someone to appear when no one else queeing for an order - happened both nights. In meantime a suited employee only deigned to look after those dining.

Adequate room with a pleasant outlook that had everything we needed. Good choice at breakfast.

We thought the price was a bit steep but we decided to swallow it as it was near to where we were going and friends were staying there too. Perhaps if we'd booked earlier we would have got a better deal. I thought it was odd that the only artwork on the walls was in the bathroom rather than the bedroom! A least one picture on the wall in the bedroom would have made it feel more homely/furnished. A lot of noise outside late at night/early morning from other guests staying/celebrating at the hotel.

Our room was very comfortable and a good size for a family room. The shower was very good. The room was very clean, good facilities for what we needed. My daughter loved the room service.

Food and drink were expensive. I did the cake for a family wedding. I gave a presentation box to a member of staff for the cake topper, which I had made specially for them. I stressed how important it was for it to be kept and passed on to the bride and groom. This didn't happen, and it was nowhere to be seen. Had this not have happened, I would have given staff 100%, but because of that one member of staff, something that was very important was very upsetting.

When we arrived the bedroom was very drap and dissapointing. We asked for another room and were given a much better room. I also mentioned it was my wife's birthday and booked a meal in the restaurant. The food and service was very good but nothing special for my wife's birthday. We also booked a taxi at the reception to take us to the airport for the next morning. The taxi did not arrive and the reception didn't seem concerned. The taxi finally arrived and we just managed to get our flight. We will not be staying there again.

The place was very drap and has no soul.

The general setting of this country house hotel and grounds, a world in itself. Easy, secure, supervised parking. Friendly and professional staff, particularly at The Stables, which made our 50th Anniversary return to Leeds (my wife and I met at the University, as I told everyone!) a pleasure. Ease of bus links to city. Quiet: double-glazed windows on this ground floor room were very effective, with courtyard and pub seating outside. Excellent choice of breakfast. Eating options from formal at Convive to informal atmosphere at the onsite pub. Particularly liked the option to forego room cleaning in exchange for £5 voucher. Very comfortable bed, and foolproof shower.

Would have liked consistent pricing on the dining menu: e.g. fish and chips were £4 more expensive than advertised on the info screen. One chair between two in the room. No newspapers - available at Spar a mile away, so I recommend driving there. The staff were struggling with the numbers for breakfast on day two of our stay - many hot containers had not been replenished, so one had to revisit and pounce when food appeared in them: a different take on 'scrambled eggs'! These are minor quibbles: staff were polite and professional, doing their best under difficult circumstances.
