The Gantry Hotel, Stratford - Exceptional Hospitality! I recently stayed at The Gantry Hotel in Stratford, and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. What stood out most was the exceptional hospitality of the staff. From the moment I arrived, every team member went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and memorable. Their warm greetings, genuine smiles, and eagerness to assist with any request made me feel incredibly welcome. Whether it was helping with directions, offering personalized recommendations, or simply checking in to see how my day was going, the staff’s attention to detail and care were second to none. The hotel itself is stunning, with beautifully designed interiors and a cozy yet modern atmosphere. The rooms were impeccably clean and well-equipped, offering both style and comfort. Its location in Stratford was incredibly convenient, with excellent access to transportation, shopping, and dining. But above all, it was the people at The Gantry who made the experience unforgettable. Their hospitality turned what could have been a standard hotel stay into something truly special. I can’t recommend this hotel enough and look forward to returning soon!

Great location, very clean and spacious twin rooms.

Although l had booked 2 rooms months in advance when we checked in, we were put on separate floors. We tried to get to our family members' room but couldn't. I went down to reception to raise this issue and was only then told that as we were on different floors, we could not access each others rooms. There was no mention of this when we checked in. There was also no apology or assistance offered. As we had travelled from different parts of the UK to meet up, we found this to be very upsetting. We ended up swapping one room key each to get around the problem. We just felt the reception staff could have been more honest about the room access, and we should have either been given room on the same floor or given an extra key to each others rooms.

Breakfast that was served in the hotel was excellent. We were initially offered a table that was very low in height which did not suit our needs. Fortunately the lady who was appointing tables found us a normal height table which was perfect. The range and quality of the food and drink on offer was excellent. If you park at Westfield shopping centre the Hotel can validate your parking for a fifty percent discount.

A minor point, the sky bar did not have any draught beer available. When I enquired with the barman I was told that he did not fancy carrying a keg of beer up forty eight floors.

The bed was large and really comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful! Shower was extremely spacious, water pressure and temp was great. The staff were very polite and friendly, service with a smile comes to mind. I would definitely stay again!

Stay was part of a bridal party. As you need the room card to use the lift for the relevant floors, it was difficult getting to and from the bride's room on the morning of the big day due to not being able to access the floor. All bridal party guests were having to bother the bride or go down to the ground floor to ask reception to send us up, which resulted in time delays and a little chaos. A few extra room keys would have completely changed this situation and reduced the amount of stress experienced - Maybe an idea for future guests, if possible.

There was a constant smell of food throughout the hotel which somehow also filtered into our bedroom. Also we had booked 3 nights initially and wanted to arrive earlier so booked an extra first night however the hotel would not give us the same rate. It worked out the cost of two nights for that first night!! I thought the hotel might have compromised on a deal for us for that extra night.

The rooms were decently sized for London and clean. It was a very comfortable and quiet stay. Staff was generous in providing us early check in after our 24 hour flight upon request and an unexpected complementary upgraded room as well which was greatly appreciated. Definitely exceeded expectations.

Some complementary amenities would have made it even better e.g. toothbrushes, water so we wouldn’t have to buy it ourselves. Stratford is a bit far away so transport was difficult especially during our stay when metro lines were down.

We arrived much later than expected due to our plane being delayed, but we immediately felt at home due to the friendliness of the staff. We were upgraded to a slightly larger king room which was a great and welcome surprise! The room was definitely large enough for two people and two small suitcases. The bed was large and comfortable. Breakfast was also excellent, with fresh omelets made every day to order. The Union Social restaurant was great in the evenings for food and cocktails as well. The hotel is within easy walking distance of both the DLR and a large shopping mall, at the other end of which are even more tube connections.

The water pressure in the shower wasn't the greatest and the water from the tap (not the shower) never got warm. Sadly, the DLR was out of commission when we were there so we had to walk through the shopping mall to get to public transportation.

The location is excellent and makes it very easy to get around central London. You’re NEVER far from a train station!

No microwave (I was informed that was due to health and safety reasons but still a little inconvenient). Also the bar (Soul Mama) was a little noisy (even from nearly twenty floors up). The cleaning staff left a tray of food in our room for more than seven hours while we were out sightseeing. The problem was rectified but it was still a little gross.

Location really good for what we needed. Room good and quieter than expected as close to a road junction. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice for us with dietary requirements met. Evening meal before we went out was reasonable if menu choice a bit limited. Staff were helpful. Stay was good

When we returned from a night out we tried to get a drink in the top bar/restaurant which is clearly popular with non residents. Didn’t love the music and noise made it difficult to talk to each other and we couldn’t get served. That bit not so great.

The hotel's location was superb. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, and they had everything we needed. Daily housekeeping was impeccable. The staff at the reception and breakfast area were very helpful and always had a smile on their faces. We were extremely satisfied with everything.

Our only critique is that for guests like us who do not consume pork products, there were no alternatives such as beef, chicken, or turkey sausage/salami—only vegan sausage was available. Adding these options to the menu would be greatly appreciated and shouldn't be too difficult.
