If you are anti-country sports (shooting, fishing) this place is not for you. It is owned and run by an author of several shooting books and the decor reflects this. I found the place fascinating and will stay there again when I am visiting the area on business. A friendly host who was not overbearing or too attentive - perfect! Breakfast is serve yourself cereals, fresh bread etc in the kitchen which was fine for us as we are not "full English" fans.

The wi-fi in my room didn't work, probably due to thick walls. Wasn't a problem for one night, but may be an issue for a multi-night stay

Despite our late arrival, we were welcomed warmly and shown the fantastic property that is Caynham Court. Diggory has a wonderful home that is evidently a labour of love and the restoration has been carried out wonderfully and the property is so full of character. We were able to park our motorcycles without any issues and had a quiet room at the back of the property. The room was a great size and the bathroom, was charming as well. The breakfast was varied and offered all that we needed, all established in a wonderful kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the hospitality from Diggory

We could not fault the property and its offering

This is a beautiful old country house, with interesting features, huge rooms, a gallery, and lovely countryside views. Although breakfast was included in the price we did not have time to partake as we had an early appointment. The room was large, light, airy, and very comfortable. The shower was amazing, very good water pressure and unrestricted hot water (I spend a long time taking a shower). Lighting was good, Wi-Fi was good, and the bed was very comfortable indeed.

Only cold water available on the wash basin as the hot tap did not produce any water. This was not much of a problem because the shower was so good.

We had an excellent stay at Caynham Court. The pictures on here are lovely but still don't do it justice - we were so amazed! The rooms were huge, the bathroom gorgeous but the lounge is the showstopper with loads of curiosities to discover. The history of Caynham Court is interesting too. We were very late checking in due to some train issues but check in was still smooth. The owners were so welcoming and we enjoyed our chats with them and getting to meet their gorgeous dogs! We would love to come back to spend more time to relax, explore and walk!

Loved it all!

Simple breakfast, great homemade preserves. House with amazing history and lots of character. The owners allowed us to use the washing machine, not sure if thats the norm but would be a real plus for travellers if they knew they could do a small wash. There is a kitchen put only a toaster and kettle and fridges so visitors should know that they will need to eat out or not cook.

Everything was fine for us, maybe letting people know they need to be fit and able to get their luggage up the stairs as most rooms on the second and third floors.

There was plenty to eat for breakfast. Very fresh. Perhaps the room could have had a television, but the excellent building and quaint walk to the room was fun. Walking past the massive stuffed bear was a highlight for me but not necessarily for my wife. The host saw us safely on our way.

Nothing, really, because the excellent old property was a joy to be in. Great to see a young man doing his best to renovate a significant property. Quite a job ahead of him. We are pleased we booked ,as it was much better than a characterless hotel room.

Caynham Court is a lovely, quirky and delightful country house. We met one of the owners, Diggory, who was friendly and welcoming and very happy to allow flexibility as needed (we needed to check out slightly late because of a prior event on the morning of departure). The kitchen facilities - although basic - were ideal for breakfast and feeding the dog etc. The breakfast was simple but very good quality cereals, bread and locally sourced jams/honey. Large and pretty garden and very well placed for getting into Ludlow and surrounding area.

Although Diggory is careful not to describe CC as an hotel, we felt that, particularly on the upper floors, it would have been good to have had a small kettle and cups to make a morning cup of tea/coffee. We also had to search the kitchen for glasses for bedside water but a very minor point. Instructions and directions in case of fire were also absent from the room so we did our own recce as we were on the top floor.

Sought out this rare place as a refuge from the power cuts created by Storm Darragh. Ended up cancelling as electricity was restored earlier than expected. My review concerns the courtesy of owner Dig providing an immediate refund of my payment, much appreciated. Really idiosyncratic looking country pile, much of the original 18th century fixtures still intact. Very much look forward to staying another time.

Breakfast was fine for what it was. I should have read the blurb more carefully. Having Googled Bed and Breakfast, I was looking forward to the treat of a full English!!

I appreciate all the hard work which must have gone into setting the place up. Being a lone guest and the place seeming like the Marie Celeste, I would have appreciated a TV in the room. In time you might put in razor points (electric toothbrush).
