Menu was simple, but food was superb, very friendly staff - nothing too much trouble, our 12 month old black lab was made very welcome with treats offered etc. Good parking. Motel style accommodation (separate to the main building) was perfect - felt more like we had our own space. Bathroom was alittle tired, but very clean and everything worked (unlike many places).

One of the beds (nearest the window) in the twin room was desperately uncomfortable. Strongly recommend replacing the mattress.

Food great, room great, staff great

I think that there should be some kind of marker on the account of customer’s who have paid prior to arriving at the Fountain so that the mistake that was made and my friend paid for her stay when I had already paid when booking. All sorted out in the end. We will use the Fountain again but will book directly and not with booking. Com.

Beautiful old property in a lovely location. The staff were excellent and so friendly and accommodating even serving us a lovely evening meal after we were a little bit later than the cut off time due to a long journey. The room was really nice and had everything we needed. The bed was really comfortable. Excellent food, we particularly enjoyed the breakfast.

Lovely old world pub,with a modern accommodation block. A lot of locally sourced ingredients and a nice selection of dishes on the menu. Everything was cooked to perfection and very reasonable on cost. The local real ale is definitely worth trying...This property is now on my list of accommodation places to return to when we next pass by.

There was nothing I found that could be considered detrimental.

The location is ideal for us as friends live close so we can stay at the Fountain and walk to their house. The Fountain is an old fashioned inn with plenty of character, good food and friendly staff

Every thing was fine

Lovely old Pub , great food , staff very friendly. The rooms are separate from the pub so very peaceful, also as parking was available in the compound the car felt more secure as wasn't seen from main road . Rooms were well furnished so can at least accommodate clothes if your stay is longer than 1 night . And great to have a bath as well

The appearance of the pub is unique, more so than I had even expected. Great location. Staff attentive and friendly. The bar area was lovely and olde worlde, exactly what we were looking for as we were bringing guests from abroad. Cosy and warm with the log burner, and we didn't get rushed. Very good Full English breakfast next day.

The wine was expensive by the glass, and we had a few! Should have ordered a bottle really, but never thought at the time. Our room was on the small side, but perfectly adequate. Our guests got a larger room though, which was nice for them.

We booked the four poster bed room. We assumed it would be upstairs in the pub. However they had accommodation behind the pub in a modern terrace of rooms. Although this initially disappointed us when we went to our room it was very good and it was a large room with a large shower room and toilet and it felt more like having your own bungalow. We had our breakfast in the pub and it was a very good breakfast and the staff were very friendly. I would recommend the Fountain to anyone wishing to stay in the area.

Good value for money. Good breakfast. Location was good for us despite being on a main-ish road. Hardly noticed the traffic despite eating outside in the evening near the road.

Never worked out how to use the plug in the bathroom basin (room 8) but to be fair I was so knackered that it didn't matter much. Evening menu was a tad limited but perfectly adequate for a couple of nights.

Room satisfactory in separate block. Pub food excellent and very reasonably priced. Very friendly and helpful staff throughout. Would certainly recommend as good value for money

Only downside was bathroom....a bit tatty and the shower hose sprayed everywhere.
