The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was lovely with nice towels, and the tea/coffee was good quality. Breakfast was good and the hotel has a nice location. It has a secure gated car park which was locked at night. Very helpful staff and overall good value.

The room was a little small for two adults. In the attic room the only windows were roof lights and the blinds in them were tatty and at least one needs replacing. No warnings about the terrible phone reception the hotel suffers from which made organising taxis etc nearly impossible, I appreciate that this is not the hotels problem, it's just the location. The Wi-Fi was good though.

The pub/restaurant is lovely. Well decorated and has character. The family owners were very welcoming and friendly. We ate in the restaurant two nights and the food was tasty and well presented.

Although the room was immaculate and had a tv, coffee/tea making station and a nice bathroom, it was the smallest hotel bedroom we’ve ever stayed in . With only a small window to open the room was very claustrophobic. It was extremely hot even though a fan was provided. Booking.com stated breakfast was included but this was only continental breakfast Any cooked offerings were charged extra. Please be aware that a ‘standard’ double room at £325 for two nights is probably not value for money. It was a shame as if our room had been a more acceptable size this hotel would be 5 star !

The hotel is pretty and has a traditional country look, the room was excellent, very well decorated, clean and comfortable also their is a gated area for your car which is secure overnight, not many venues provide this. The food and drink was really good, plenty of choice, we ate their both nights and the food was excellent, breakfast was included but you had a choice of cooked or continental. Having said that the staff were excellent, that is what made the difference, always on hand but not intrusive, full of information about the area, really pleasant people.

I liked everything, I genuinely can not find fault.

Everything in this hotel was excellent from the decor, the service, the food, the bedroom and the atmosphere. We attended a family event for a 60th wedding anniversary and the staff could not have been more helpful. They accommodated the decoration requests, the menu requests and helped make us feel very welcome. Nothing was a bother to them. The rooms were clean, very tastefully decorated and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, we chose to pay the extra for a cooked breakfast but it was well worth it. We would certainly have no hesitation in recommending this hotel or visiting again.

Nothing...everything was excellent.

Location was perfect for us visiting people in Buriton. Great area for some hiking. Room was comfortable, well equipped and spacious with a nice view. We appreciated the coffee machine in our room.

We prefer to shower so the roll top bath was not to our liking. The price is a little steep given it does not include even a basic cooked breakfast. Suggest a urn of hot water left with tea bags would help the tea drinkers serve themselves at breakfast time, especially when busy.

The hotel is in a beautiful little village. The locals where very friendly and the staff looked like family owned was very welcoming and friendly every time The food was amazing!!!! We had a meat platter to share and being from south Africa the steak was cooked to perfection and the ribs where out of this world. We loved to decor from the pub/restuarant to the bedrooms where stunning and great detail and care was put into it. I really can't wait to go back.

Had a lovely Saturday night stay at the Nest. Love the fact that all the rooms are named after birds. Our room Wren was right at the top of the building. This did mean that due to us arriving in the early September heatwave the room was extremely hot. A fan was provided. Though we opened the skylights immediately it was a very hot night. We were leaving before breakfast would be served and we received a breakfast bag which was a nice touch. Mattress was slightly softer than we were used to and we did miss the shower (bath only) though I did enjoy my soak in the bath. I had been emailed about booking a table in the restaurant for dinner but we decided to venture out elsewhere which was the right thing to do as the restaurant was fully booked

It would be nice to have a shower attachment on the bath. Though a jug was provided it can be a bit difficult washing hair that's quite thick this way

The breakfast was delicious, the room was very comfortable with a lovely quiet and cosy feel. The staff were so helpful and accommodated all our needs, and it was an enjoyable experience staying there. I'd recommend the Nest to anyone visiting the area, and we would stay there again!

Could have had a bit more storage for clothes, however we were only staying one night so it didn't really matter. If we were staying longer we'd hope for a wardrobe or drawer space.

This is a lovely hotel and the staff/hosts are superb. The room was beautiful, although a little small but the whole place is very clean and very well maintained. Quite location in a stunning village and countryside. We felt welcomed and at home, thank you. The Restaurant was also very nice, we had steak with all the trimmings and a glass of wine, 2 for £45 which was excellent.

Breakfast being 8 until 9am wasn't great for us and we would have preferred longer, until 10 would give more flexibility on a leasure trip and allow for appetite but overall a very pleasant stay

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We were walking the South Downs Way and the sole had come off one of our boots and they very kindly glued it back on. The food was nice and breakfast was good.

Our bedroom was very small and only had windows in the roof, which I found oppressive. An amusing feature was that when I got out of bed the TV came on. The TV switched on with the slightest touch.
