An absolute little gem of a place. We booked it as it was close to Everyman Driving experience, and we only needed a one night stay. In the quiet little village of Thrussington, facing a quaint village Green. This is obviously the hub of the village where people love to meet and socialise. It’s easy to see why it’s so popular, the staff are so friendly and welcoming, hats off to Josh and Alex who went above and beyond. The food is amazing, cooked to perfection and served with a smile. Our room was quiet and comfortable, had the best nights sleep in ages. Spotlessly clean with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. Shampoo, soap and shower gel also provided. We travel a lot and this has been the best over night stay we’ve had this year. Looking forward to staying again on the future.

That we couldn’t stay longer.

Really spacious and well furnished room - everything you needed was included. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Located in a lovely village, right on the green with a fab deli opposite. Although parking at the Star itself is very limited, there is plenty of street parking nearby so wasn't a problem throughout our stay.

The wifi signal needs boosting in the bedroom - kept dropping out and was weak at the best of times. I would prefer a bit more self service at breakfast - rather than having to ask for tea, not having milk for the tea or brown sauce etc readily available (had to ask and there wasn't always a member of staff around).

When we walked in we was greeted very professionally, all staff were lovely and helpful. Rooms were good size and very comfy bed.

When we first walked in we were like WOW this room is amazing (room 6&7), but throughout our stay we noticed like things, that when fixed will match the price tag of this room. Shower unit needs replacing as peeling. Toilet roll holder needs moving. Stain/mark above tv in bedroom. More white sugar. Lampshade needs replacing (broken) Very noisy fridge in wardrobe. Extractor fan very loud even when switched off, both of which kept us awake. Breakfast= good continental selection, some eggs were over done and cold, barley cooked mushrooms.

An absolute jem of first class accommodation with excellent helpful staff. Refurbishment had taken place in recent years at this lovely inn overlooking the small village green, the workmanship and the quality of materials used during the refurbishment were excellent and travellers would find difficulty in finding better in some of the most expensive hotels in the country. Extra large and very comfortable beds were provided and everything so very clean

There was nothing to dislike at this hotel

Set in a great location nice bar and restaurant areas , room was lovely great spec, really comfortable bed nice big mirrors in the room and bathroom . Breakfast was continental with a great choice coffee, tea , juices cereal ,fruit plus a cooked breakfast for an extra cost. I would thoroughly recommend The Star inn for a weekend or just a night. Well done to everyone.

There wasn't anything to dislike youd have to be really picky to find any fault here.

Friendly staff, clean room, comfy bed.

A form to order breakfast should have been left in our room or given to us when we arrived. It wasn’t. This meant we could not have a full English breakfast because they had not ordered sausages. Also when booking it mentioned that breakfast was included in the price. It wasn’t it was just a continental breakfast if you wanted anything fried it was extra around £10 per head.

A lovely old Inn situated in a pleasant village. The room was a good size with everything you needed. Huge bed and nice touches like plenty of tea and coffee, some chilled water and a shaving mirror that was in a good place! The shower was powerful and everything was very clean. We ate in the pub and the food was lovely and freshly cooked. Nice mix of locals and visitors with friendly staff.

The location is in a very pretty village and accessible via Uber to Prestwold Hall, where we’re attending a wedding. The pub itself is also lovely, the rooms are well appointed, comfy beds and nice linen. All the staff were fabulous snd do friendly and and let us check in early as our wedding started early afternoon as this was such a great help as we had travelled for a couple of hours. I had continental breakfast which is included in the price, the others had cooked breakfast which was excellent and good value.

Can’t fault

Hotel was in a great location for our onward travel to Donnington Park. Rooms and all facilities were of a very high standard.

Waiting times for food were quite long, we had to chase up our evening order within the restaurant. We also pre-ordered breakfast with 3 of the 6 in the party wanting a cooked breakfast, but it still arrived later than the booking time.

We stayed here for a wedding at Brooksby Hall and the staff could not have been more accommodating. There were lots of different people staying for different numbers of nights and with various dietary needs but nothing phased them. The village green was beautiful and it was all very quiet and tranquil. We loved the pub quiz and disco on Sunday night.

Nothing at all to complain about. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms generous and everything clean.
