Loved everything about North Downs Barn. Beautifully renovated Barn in quiet location. All the rooms are tastefully decorated, comfy beds and are spotless. We booked a few rooms, as we had a family wedding nearby. Lovely mezzanine lounge area to relax together. Great local walk, up hill through the fields and woods at the back of property. Alison and Paul are amazing hosts and were so friendly and helpful. The Breakfasts are top notch ! If you fancy a good curry, go to Shozna about 15mins drive away.

There is nothing not to like!

A wonderful barn converted by the owners themselves and set in a beautiful garden! From the inside it is more a manor then barn and the owners are so warm and welcoming. Our bedroom had beautiful views over the fields behind the property with Alpacas in it! It was very clean and lots of nice details to make you feel very welcome. There was a choice of shower or jacuzzi bath. The full English breakfast was 5 out of 5 stars, especially the banana yogurt. Set us up for a long and hard day of walking! Thank you so much and we strongly recommend this place either when walking the pilgrims way or for discovering Kent.

It was only one night we stayed, too short!!

Absolutely beautiful accommodation in lovely surroundings. Impeccably clean and with lovely modern well arranged rooms, we had a perfect stay. Very friendly and helpful hosts were keen to recommend local restaurants and parking, which was very helpful. The breakfast was delicious with a wide choice of options. There are also outside seating areas which looked lovely. was only a short drive to historic Rochester. I would 100% recommend staying at North Downs Barn and would be very happy to return.

Arrived late at the property, met by lovely Alison. I was given a quick tour of where everything was then shown to my room. The place is beautifully furnished, really spacious and airy. The room was huge, yet still felt cosy. Bed really comfortable, great shower and double sink in bathroom. Couldn’t ask for any more from my stay. Breakfast starts at 7am, however I had to leave at 6am for work in London. Alison made me a sandwich to take with me, also some fruit and crisps. Excellent service, would definitely stay again.

I don’t think I've ever stayed in a room as large as mine was, in my life… Everything works and is spotless. The grand piano in the upstairs lounge just makes it. When you see it, you will understand. Truly comfortable bed It's peaceful, beautiful and the breakfast is lovely. The garden barn table arrangement for eating outside should be a compulsory feature for all of our properties, it works so well.

Location was ideal close to motorway and Medway towns but away enough to enjoy a peaceful stay. Stunning property. Room was large and airy. Very clean. Bed very comfortable and spacious bathroom with shower and plenty of hot water. Breakfast 5* the dining room was set up for us with lots of special touches. Breakfast ingredients good quality and full English served up very hot!!! Host friendly and helpful with recommendations of places to eat at. Would highly recommend and will return.

All of it was great. Host was lovely, place is beautiful. We booked it as the best reviewed place in the area and we were not disappointed. If we come back up Rochester this is where we will book again. Even little touches like normally when you get a B&B they give you tea/coffee but that doesn’t get refreshed again, we had everything refilled every day when we went out. Got good recommendations of places to go too. Also a friendly dog and a beautiful horse on site too.

Honestly the stay was great nothing that would put me off. We will come back again if we are in the area. If I’m really pushed, the shower was cold when we went for a midday shower? But I asked and the water was on straight away (I think it was on anyway but had just come on), The bed was a bit noisy when you move on it but it’s really minor and wasn’t a problem since it was also really comfortable so that negates any frame creaking. Also the electricity in the bathroom? The lights under the mirrors flickered a bit when we turned them on but the main light doesn’t so again, it’s not a problem. Like seriously tiny things. The stay was a 10/10 and with those minor things the stay is still a 10/10.

North Downs Barn is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed in - some core memories created here from my visit. Already planning to come back next year. The hosts were so friendly and accommodating, breakfast was delicious and the whole place has the most perfect, cosy atmosphere. My friend and I were planning on going into town the evening we stayed but we loved the barn so much that we stayed in instead, by the fire with some blankets and wine. I can’t wait to come back - thank you so much to the hosts for a really gorgeous experience and one I won’t forget ♥️

Loved it. Stayed here whilst working at the local Hospital to which this place is perfect as it is quite literally situated right on it. The place was fantastic, really beautiful; massive room - seriously, vaulted ceiling - my single room had a bedroom off the bedroom! Everything was clean and the owner couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast Portions were small and not enough but the cooking was great. The owners made me feel welcome & relaxed. I'll certainly be back to stay here again.

lovely setting. the room was very comfortable and plenty of space. the finishing of the room was very luxurious which meant we got a great nights sleep! we were visiting the area to go to a friends wedding and after a very long drive it was lovely to settle into a comfortable room. breakfast was exceptional and the hosts went over and above to make us few welcome - even offering us advice on a place to have a wee walk. very friendly and warm and welcoming host. plenty of parking.
