As soon as we got to The Six Bells we were greeted with a warm welcome by the staff. We arrived slightly early for our check in and was able to go to our room. The room was a nice big family room. The room was immaculate and had lovely extra touches, such as toiletries, teas and a bottle of water. We had a very comfy night sleep. The location is quiet even though above a pub. The power shower was excellent. The next morning the breakfast was yummy. There was a good selection for breakfast which catered for a small or big appetite. The coffee was excellent. We would defiantly recommend staying here and would love to visit again.

Nothing at all.

The location was very good with a bus connection to Rochester right outside. The room was well-appointed and clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast and dinner at the pub and the food was OK, although the fried eggs at breakfast were hard and the hash browns were missing on the second day but it was busy for one person to handle cooking and serving.

It would be nice to see a steak pie or something similar on the traditional pub section of the menu., otherwise, a well-considered food offering.

Very friendly, approachable, and helpful staff. Comfortable, good-sized room and bed. Excellent inclusive breakfasts and well-priced additionally-charged evening meals. Enjoyed the Pub's beer and wine. Room and shower room/toilet facilities all worked and were clean. Ideally positioned for the holiday aims we had. We were walking the Thames Path / English Coastal Path and recommend the Pub to others doing the same, especially for the more remote path topography between Gravesend and Grain, as the Pub is only a mile inland from the Cliffe coastal fort. There are also marshland nature reserves nearby and two other way-marked trails (Heron & Saxon Shore Way). The Pub held a Classic Car Show during our stay which offered added interest and atmosphere.

Nothing. We liked all aspects of our stay. The staff went out of their way to ensure that our requirements were met.

The property was very clean and had a welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast was brilliant.. Kayleigh’s d Gavin we’re great hosts. There was a transfer service available to the wedding venue from the property we which was excellent. We saw other guests of the wedding struggling to get a taxi so knowing that we had a transfer secured was amazing! Great place with friendly vibes.

We received a warm welcome from the friendly staff. The room was excellent, spacious and very clean. The transfer service to Cooling Castle was a fantastic extra. Breakfast the next morning was lovely, with a very good selection for all appetites. The cappuccino was excellent and we are very fussy when it comes to coffee. I would definitely recommend staying here.

The Breakfast was really good and even when I had to leave was allowed to take it with me which i was pleased about as I am not a morning person. The owners were lovely and made us feel really welcome as we travelled from Wales 4 and a half hours to get there. We came for a wedding at cooling castle barn in which we had transport to and from the venue which was amazing if I ever go up Rochester again, I will definitely stay there again couldn't fault the hospitality 10/10.

nothing at all it was excellent found no faults.

Very nice and friendly staff. Local pub with 6 rooms above it. We stayed in a room for 4 - with 3 people so had all the space. Comfortable and clean beds and sheets. The atmosphere at the pub was simply amazing. The entire village joined us for afternoon drinks and some food after. There were people playing pool and darts or watching the football game on TV. The surroundings of the village are beautiful: really nice to make short or long walks. Situated right next to the church, with free parking in front of the pub. Good food at fair prices. Breakfast included with the room prices, which is the best option since finding a breakfast close to the stay won't be possible. We will be definitely be back, had a blast here.

The bathroom is on the small side and the shower was a little clogged. However this didn't influence our stay at all. We travelled by car, which is the best option since it is a really small village.

Breakfast was good, plenty of options including veggie. Rooms were spotless and airy, immaculately decorated and with everything we needed. The staff were extremely helpful, pushing our arrival time back as we were attending a wedding locally and time was tight. The owner was a cheery chap, who regaled us with tales of the famous locals! He also ferried us and other wedding guests to and from the venue.

Nothing, it was a lovely place to stay! Even the locals in the bar were chatty. Staff were great, I can’t think of anything that wasn’t.

Good location in the heart of the village, room was clean and comfortable, staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious (with humungous portion sizes!)

The decor in the room reminded me of my mum and dad’s bedroom from the 1980s. A lot of odours from the kitchen came up through the bathroom floor.
