Fabulous location amazing views could sit and watch forever the changing scene . The staff were very helpful. The food was great and very helpful around allergies. Parking really creative. Staff very attentive and regularly seen helping less able guests as needed. Complementary gin great along with the ice deliveries in the evening.

Difficult to work out where things were in the hotel. Slow to fix lights in bathroom when they went wrong …. Bathroom looking tired …. Quite a small room for the the standard of hotel compared to other harbour hotel visited only 1 chair for a couple for drinking the gin and enjoying view

We paid for a balcony and estuary view which gave a fantastic view (after our first room had a disappointing view across a low level roof and a birds eye view of the roof terrace bar. Complimentary G & T in the room. Spa area was really nice albeit the steam room was out of action for last two days. Restaurant area had fantastic view across the area with outside area. Staff were really good, friendly & professional. Great location. Lots of good (and challenging) walks nearby.

Our initial room view was disappointing but moved after one night.

Spectacular location, right on the estuary and with sea views . Food was fantastic . Parking is available on site at a small cost . Easy access to the small town of Salcombe and other hidden coves and beautiful coastline . Room had complimentary G and Tin the room - nice touch. Large bed , tea and coffee making , robes, hairdryer and toiletries , we didn’t use the spa, but it looked very lovely . We enjoyed our one night .

Room was very hot, even with the window open, would have expected air con . Although extremely comfortable , at this price, we felt the room was small in comparison to other similarly priced hotels . One male staff member was a little sanctimonious. The food is lovely, but expect deep pockets Having said the above, we would return .

Loved the view. Sun beds on the balcony wonderful. Breakfast and room service excellent Enjoyed the Gin and slice (delivered by trolley personally - nice touch ). Parking good

The small table (cheap & nasty) on the 4 th floor balcony was absolutely full with rain water. couldnt empty it on the balcony - would have filtered down through. Partner steadily carried it to the bathroom. It was heavy! All the top floor balcony tables were the same style! But not the rest of the balcony tables on the floors below. Their tables were "flat"! Needs changing.

The room was spacious and comfortable with a fantastic view of the estuary and a pleasant balcony Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. The extremely helpful and pleasant man in the car park that parked or fetched your car for you. The helpfulness of staff especially on the last day when the lift broke down and we were on the third floor.

The only way of ventilating the room was to open the French doors although there was a window in the bathroom which could be opened across the top. The bathroom door was a sliding door which was extremely difficult to open or shut. The restaurant for evening meal had a limited menu and was overpriced.

The hotel itself, very good, room clean and a superb view. Plenty of parking. Quiet and private in the rooms, and on the balcony, you could spend your whole time there if the weather was kind. An added bonus was a carafe of gin provided in the room, with tonic, and each day the ice person comes along offering ice, lemon, orange and grapefruit slices. Lovely, comfortable, lounge areas with Salcombe history on the walls. Good availability of food, drinks and treatments. Katie did a great job on my wife's facial and my massage. We only had the breakfast, which was good, so can't comment on the menu.

The spa area is very nice but could do with a bit of tlc. The curtains between the loungers are getting moldy, and the floors, especially the steam room are not cleaned regularly enough. There was an orange on the floor, probably still there now, in amongst the curtains! Nice facilities though. On the day we checked out (of all days, we needed to head off, sharpish) our breakfast order was overlooked so we were in the restaurant for quite some time. This was easily overcome by asking, but by then we were running late and actually vacated the room after 11am, which housekeeping were not particularly amused by. None of this spoiled our stay, and we'd come again.

Excellent food offering, breakfast and dinner. A pro active parking service which was appreciated.

Third floor room with estuary views is very small with minimum storage space, we could hear the occupants of the next door room talking, so more sound insulation is necessary. The tiny bathroom only had a shower, small basin and very low toilet, there was room for only one person. The balcony step was dangerous as the step tiles were loose., this was reported to reception. The room decor was excellent, however the tasteful furnishings needed a room with 25% more space.

I wanted to treat my partner with something special and the hotel delivered on that. The staff went out of their way to find out if there was a reason for our visit, and there was, and anniversary, so they accounted for this and provided us with some chocolates and a lovely hand written note, lovely touch.

I am struggling to pick something but the carpark was chaos but that was less about the design and the hotel at fault and more the fault of some less diligent and skilful drivers. Not much the hotel can do about this so please don’t hold it against them.

The views were incredible, we wished we’d stayed longer.

It wasn’t clear that there was valet parking and it was impossible to find a space to go in and talk to reception about it. I specified I had an allergy at dinner, when the food came, it appeared to have the allergen on it. When this was queried, I was assured it was safe. Unfortunately, I later had a reaction which could only have come from that food which ruined the evening.

Everything about the hotel was fabulous- the staff were professional, efficient and friendly, the room was extremely well appointed and the free gin was lovely especially as the staff came to the rooms early evening with ice and fruit to accompany the drink. We used the Spa facilities everyday again a lovely bonus to the stay and the location couldn’t have been better just a minute walk from the shops, bars and cafes. To add to all of this the view was amazing!
