Took my elderly parents for a short break. They had a very comfortable room with a picture window overlooking the seafront. It was perfect. I had a single room which exceeded my expectations. All of the staff were very friendly and very helpful and accommodating. When my parents didn't feel well enough to come down to breakfast, the staff seamlessly arranged for them to have breakfast delivered to their room which they thoroughly enjoyed. A most enjoyable stay. We ate in the casual dining room and the service and food were excellent.

Breakfast excellent and waiter service superb. Choice of food excellent and very well cooked. Nice room with sea view, and quiet. Very well valeted each day. Evening meals were of a high standard. Staff charming: very friendly and efficient in all the dining, bar, lounge areas. Lovely indoor pool, and relaxing heated beds. Fun quiz on one evening and flowers for the ladies on Valentine's dinner. Good putting course, and what looked like a nice outdoor pool and lido area for the summer plus tennis courts.

The doorman was excellent, when we arrived: knew we were expected and parked our car: always cheerful and a really good frontman, but we then went to check in, where we were ignored for what felt quite a long time,, because the one lady was on the phone. It would have been a good idea if she could have at least said "Good afternoon: I will be with you just as soon as I can". More than one other staff passed through the area, and eventually we were greeted very pleasantly by a different lady who was entirely helpful. After that all was fine. I would have liked a softer pillow..but I brought my own.

Breakfast was great, continental and a cooked breakfast. Tea,coffee and toast brought out whilst we waited. Just make sure you say how many you want or it is one of each. Restaurant was great, food was sublime, with a live pianist. You will need a tie and jacket as a male. Coffee served in lounge afterwards. Position is lovely on the end of the sea front, with quick access to the beach and shops. Housekeeping was brilliant, even managing to clean our room whilst we had breakfast. Nothing was left outside, such as bed sheets, as all removed as room completed. Spa facilities well kept, we regularly had the pool and jacuzzi to ourselves for an hour.

Food was delicious. Lovely grounds and facilities. Awesome staff.

Would have preferred a king size or twin beds. Beds not very comfortable. Lovely room though. A bed topper might help.

A fabulous hotel in a great location. Our room was spacious, with lovely decor, spotlessly clean with a view of the sea. The staff were very professional, helpful and friendly and the breakfast was tasty and of good quality. Would definitely recommend and return.

There was nothing not to like. One small observation is that the indoor pool was quite small and would be difficult to have a proper swim if more than a couple of people in there.

Service and facilities were excellent. Food good and great wine selection. Sea view from Room was excellent. Location was 2 minute walk to beach or old town

Shower over bath meant you got showered with cold water when turning shower on due to fixed shower screen. The in room safe was faulty. Car parking was very tight due to day hotel function visitors. These are minor quibbles though.

Everything about our stay at the Victoria was first class. Excellent well equipped and exceptionally clean room with a great sea views, high quality food in the restaurant including both the breakfasts and dinners. Also the staff were fantastic. Very friendly and always there to help and provide top class service. Thank you.

I can’t think of anything substantial that needs to be improved as the hotel is a gem.

The location was perfect, in walking distance from the seafront and promenade. A beautiful building and the grounds are kept immaculately. The interior is very lovely as well. All the staff were friendly and helpful especially the gentleman helping with the parking. As promised an electric point had been reserved for our use. Both the dinner and breakfast was tasty!

I am afraid that our bathroom let the experience down. It was fairly worn and plain. But what was most unpleasant was the smell which persisted throughout our stay, regardless of the window being open or not.

Breakfast and evening dinner were delicious. The room was very comfortable a little small perhaps but for a few days was it was lovely. The staff were lovely very friendly and so helpful it was lovely to be cosseted for a few days.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like about the hotel. A full length mirror somewhere would be a good idea.

Location is excellent; facilities, staff and food also excellent.

Only slight issue we had we were on the 3rd floor and stayed during a hot week beginning of September so the room was quite hot. We opened the windows on the corridor to let some air through into the bedroom.
