It was spacious, clean and comfortable. It felt truly luxurious and the surroundings are exceptionally beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was wonderful. The spa was especially good; I spent several hours swimming and relaxing there. I booked my trip for an overnight relaxation break and that is exactly what I got! It was all fantastic: the fresh coffee in the bedroom, the Elemis products supplied for guests, all the thought that had clearly gone into making the hotel as welcoming as possible.

The was rally nothing to dislike. The wait for food at dinner was a little long, but honestly, that's just nitpicking. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of my stay.

The property was beautiful and the spa facilities were lovely and a really good treat for myself and my partner. The staff were lovely! Especially the blonde girl behind reception, I didn’t get her name but she was really great when I was checking in and answered any questions I had!

The stay itself was pretty pricey. We booked a room that said it would have a balcony and a view, but we ended up being put in a suite which from what I understand was meant to be a more luxurious room because it had the living room space. We didn’t mind being in that room, it just felt too big for the two of us and we could hear the music and microphone from gym classes happening underneath us. Honestly, it was a lot of money to have no balcony and a view of the car park. I did question at reception and she said they were fully booked on the Friday but we could move on the Saturday. In all honestly it just seemed like too much of a hassle for one night. But that is genuinely the only negative for our stay.

The Hotel was as shown in the images on line, but the Spa facilities were better than we had expected, with a great pool and a very good gym area. Very good D,B&B deal which made for great value excepting the comments below.

Sunday night menu was a bit limited, Monday much better, and tastier. The lighting in the dining area was awful though, lots of glare and too bright in some places, too dark in others with no intimacy. Just four tables had an individual table light which was much better. I worked for 30 years in the lighting industry, I know what I'm talking about.

The room is spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was fine, clean but not particularly modern, and the pipes made a noise when you flushed the toilet. The facilities are good, great gym and pool/spa. We also used the driving range which was fun and easy to do on a whim - no booking needed. We only had breakfast in the hotel. It was standard hotel breakfast.

I'd suggest the bathrooms need updating. Also, as the pool got busy all the sun loungers had been 'saved' by people putting down their towels and then not using them. I had no where to sit by the pool but was surrounded by empty yet 'taken' sun loungers!

The staff at the reception and in the restaurant were amazing. The room was comfortable and the food was fine. The location is really pretty. The main reason we came was for the spa as I used to pay to be a day guest years ago but you can't do that anymore, so we just booked the room! It was worth it.

Walls are paper thin. Everything was perfect until someone rocked up after 12am in the morning and we were woken up because we could hear EVERYTHING! This isn't the staff's fault and is just poor design but if you're a light sleeper, ask for a room where it is guaranteed to be quiet.

Great view over the golf course for breakfast. Room and hotel great. Good parking. Great gym, pool and sauna. Fabulous surroundings. Good clean rooms. Fabulous place to stay and would use it every time.

Food especially dinner selection in the restaurant is not very inspiring and to be honest lets a great hotel down. Also service for even simple things like coffee is very slow. Not sure why, however the lady who served us was lovely but it just seems a lot of other people stood around not doing a lot even when there was queue. Its a real shame as the hotel and surroundings are exceptional.

Location is lovely. Quiet and semi-rural but close to Exeter/Lympstone etc. The facilities are great gym/pool/bar/Spa. The building is exceptionally clean, tidy and tastefully decorated. The rooms have nice quality bedding, toiletries. Large tv screens. The lounge bar area has lovely relaxing sofas and a wood burning fire. The reception staff were very welcoming. We needed to use the spare pillows as the ones provided were quite flat. Personal choice. The Elemis shower gel/shampoo/handwash are a nice touch and the quality tea/coffee/spring water in the rooms was great. Breakfast there was a large choice of fruit bowls, yoghurt, croissants, hot breakfast items inc toast. I saw a guest being brought a different choice of eggs which weren’t in the cooked food area. I hadn’t realised you could ask for other eggs otherwise I would have chosen them. Mattresses quite firm but I slept peacefully as it was quiet which was great. I couldn’t really fault anything. I will definitely return.

There was nothing that I didn’t like. I did ask possibly for one of the two rooms to be ground floor but unfortunately we were allocated upper floors.

Lovely location. Lovely building. Friendly staff. A lot on offer.

The swimming pool. The pool was lovely but we didn’t get the chance to use it. We felt that there were too many swimming times with kids. When you go to a hotel with a pool, you want to relax and have peace and quiet. Walking into this was like entering the local leisure centre for family time. Not for us. Also at breakfast time we had to walk down to the clubhouse for breakfast because a football team was in house. Which was a bit off when we’re paying guests and were told the night before that breakfast would be served downstairs. But overall the hotel was nice and we would stay again.

Room was a good size with kettle and teas/coffees etc and lovely view over the golf course. The staff were exceptionally lovely especially to my 3 year old.

The walls of our room were very thin and I could hear the couple next door doing their thing if you know what I mean! Also there was a slight mistake in that the reception staff told me that the restaurant closes between 5-6pm but we can order food up until 4.55 still. However we ordered at 4.50 and was told we wouldn't be able to order until 6. I had a very hungry tired 3 year old so ended up having to get a takeaway from Exmouth instead. So just something to be aware of.

Breakfast - no-one to place you at the table at breakfast and in a rush - didn't feel "cared" for. Didn't do Dinner and Room was excellent. Receptionist on arrival Pricillia, was a fantastic ambassador for your brand and even though I spilt something TWICE, she cleaned it up without question and didn't make me feel bad for being clumsy, i meant to give her a tip, but got delayed at breakfast so ended up rushing off... Loved that you provided paper cups to take coffee "on the go", have already recommended to some friends. Minor grumble, it was dark when I got there and such a big complex, so many signs ended up going into the Spa to get directions. Please to find a pool, that was not listed on Booking.com, so ALMOST went elsewhere. Hope the feedback is useful and I will come back if available at the right (last minute) price.

Sorry mixed as above.
