Everything was so relaxed and comfortable. Room was a standard double and the bed was very comfortable. The room was described as cosy but ample room to access both sides of bed and walk around. Bathroom good Size and shower spacious. We didn't feel at all claustrophobic. Great location and wonderful breakfast. Brian and Lorraine were so welcoming .

A bit hit and miss in Budleigh Salterton for eating out. Most places closed , although vuaured 16 to 20 July, or only open specific times. Check online first and reserve tables.

Brian was most welcoming and friendly during my stay. The breakfast was perfect - not too much, not too little but very tasty and healthy. The Lounge and Conservatory were most comfortable and the garden was lovely. The views from my room and from the Conservatory are magnificent.

I would like to have had the option of an evening meal and an open bar.

The dining room was spacious, our bedroom enabled a separate seating area, and the breakfasts were excellent We were surprised to discover a frequent bus service to Budleigh/Exmouth and Sidmouth which meant we could avoid high season parking issues

What’s not to like, our hosts Brian and Lorraine were splendid and Brian’s good humour and relaxed hospitality were key to our stay

During my 40 years with in the Power Generation Industry I have stayed at hundreds possibly thousands of hotels within the UK. I would rate the Long Range Hotel as amongst the nicest being equaled only by the Haylie Hotel in Largs (Scotland). Proper fruit juice, mixed fresh fruit with yoghurt then the full English breakfast with tea and toast was a perfect start to the day. If I have had a better breakfast, I cannot remember when, thank you.

We were made very welcome by Brian on arrival and looked after throughout our stay, which we extended by a day as we enjoyed it so much. The Long Range is a lovely place to stay in a quiet spot yet within reasonably easy reach of the town and seafront. The breakfast choice and quality was excellent!

The tv in the room was pointless you couldn’t even see it or was so small and too far away and positioned in an odd place. Travelling with an elderly and infirm person it would have been nice to watch a little tv in the evening.

okay where to start!... my husband and I travelled all the way from norfolk to Budleigh Salterton for our honeymoon. Brian, the owner(a very lovely man) was extremely kind enough to wait for us to check in- this was at 11pm night time! After driving 9.5 hours we were exhausted but greeted with a warm welcome and a beautiful, clean room and an extremely comfortable bed! The next day we had breakfast and that was served in a very beautifully decorated dining room.It was airy and exceptionally clean. We had a full english breakfast (veg sausages for us) and wow! what a delicious start to our morning. Brian told us about the local area aswell as other places to visit so the first thing we did was walk down to the budleigh beach. It was 10 mins walking distance from the hotel so very easy to get too. Such a wonderful, beautiful, scenic town - if we came back to Devon we know that we will definitely be staying at the Long Range! on return to the hotel to freshen up from the days out, our rooms had been cleaned thoroughly and stocked up again on essentials. How lovely is that! The staff- from the waitresses to the cleaners were all friendly and welcoming which both myself and my husband loved. We stayed four nights here and we have made some new friends. Brian and his wife Lorraine are truly wonderful people with fantastic personalities and have so much care in making their hotel feel like a loving,happy environment. On leaving, they gave us a present for our honeymoon and that was so thoughtful! will we come back to the Long Range? Yes indeed!!! 10/10 for everything. xx

Brian is a wonderful host. Room was large and was very clean also serviced every day, There was a lovely view from the window across the valley. The location is very quiet.
