Large room with comfortable chairs. Neat and clean curtains. Restaurant available. Full breakfast. Reasonable dinner. Ample free parking. Quiet place off the main road.

Someone else wronly checked out providing our room number, I guess in error. They didn't check that is the right room they were checking out and thought we had checked out a day earlier. This is in spite of the fact that the name was different. The next morning we had problems when we went to have our booked breakfast. Clearly they made an error and kept questioning our booking. Maybe this will not happen to everyone. Apart from this, the rest were fine.

Perfect location for us as we visit family locally. Dog friendly

Initially we were allocated a room on the 4th floor which had definitely seen better days, the decor was dated , the bathroom was old fashioned and smelled , and one of the taps didn’t work, and there was no shower curtain. I asked for an alternative room and the lovely receptionist allocated a us room on the second floor ( which is also the ground floor!) these have obviously been renovated recently and to a good standard And we had a very comfortable night. The public spaces of the hotel are clean but a bit dated. The breakfast is varied and plentiful ( no vegetarian sausage though!) the hotel is also housing asylum seekers at the moment, but this is not an issue for us, they are families with children. This is the second time we have stayed here and we would return again .

The dog friendly welcome in the foyer. The girl on the front desk was also very helpful when I couldn't set up my WiFi link.

The bald guy in the breakfast bar showed us where to sit with the dog but didn't explain where to go for the food, so we assumed it was waiter service. After waiting for a while, my partner went to ask what was happening, only then were we shown where to go. When waiting to check out later, there was no-one around, one of the bar staff went to look and eventually a lad appeared; we were in a rush as I had an appointment to visit a friend in a care home, before setting off to drive down to the Isle of Wight with a ferry deadline of 18.00

Very well kept, spotless. The rooms are beautiful, Staff were amazing. very close to the festival we were attending. I would recommend. This was a last minute booking for us, great price.

One member of security would not let me leave the building one night to go out and get my friends from the taxi. she said if I left I would not be aloud back on the premises even after I told her I have booked for 4x Guest and only two of us were in the room. I was only going out to help them carry the stuff in from the festival.

the beds were one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in, the bathrooms were amazing and the staff were all so nice. The absolute best part for us though was coming back on the night and there being the most friendly cat we have seen in the lobby we loved it wanted to take it home! we will definitely stay again when we’re out manchester way again!

the only ONE thing that we didn’t like was when we were woken up at 7 by housekeeping knocking on the door because we had been up late the night before but other than that the stay was fantastic!

The rooms are spacious and clean. Staff very friendly.

I’ve stayed here several times now with no problems but as it was Xmas party season when I last stayed, there was a lot of noise in the corridor, people drunk, noisy and arguing outside my room on the Friday and Saturday night into the early hours, on the Sunday there was no problem. I didn’t complain as it hadn’t happened before and is normally quite. Also I couldn’t have dinner in the restaurant on the Friday as the kitchen was catering for a large function. I’ve had dinner on previous occasions with no problems.

Room & beds were large; we had 1 family, 1 twin, very comfortable & clean. I think we had refurbished rooms (some may not be refurbished yet as I have read some negative comments online about rooms - but ours, in the 200s were great). Restaurant/bar area & staff very family-friendly, children's meals good value. Excellent choice at breakast buffet and very fresh.

We had children aged nearly 2 and nearly 4 with us - it would be good if there were a few swings/slide etc outside in the large grounds. This is just a suggestion - we liked everything & it was ideal for our family group.

From the friendly staff to the well furnished (including 2 double beds, 2 high back chairs and ample desk space), very comfortable, modern and spotlessly clean en-suite room and the decent hotel bar/restaurant, this hotel was a great choice for my recent trip to Stockport. The surrounding area is residential and a bit rough around the edges, but this hotel stands in its own spacious grounds and is a hidden oasis. It was perfectly located for the event I was attending at Pear Mill and just a 10 minute drive to the centre of Stockport (Light Cinema, restaurants etc.). would definitely visit again and may even take the dog next time, as this is a pet friendly hotel.

Breakfast was good overall but, if I am being picky, the service could be a bit more polished in this area (greet people properly, put the cleaning stuff away rather than it sitting on the side like in McDonalds, don’t let the staff sit around chatting as they wait for customers, and get a machine that makes a latte). There was some noise from a wedding in the evening as we went to bed, but it wasn’t too intrusive and didn’t affect our stay or sleep. It was actually good to hear people out enjoying themselves (not to mention entertaining to see them nursing their sore heads in the morning), but some may be bothered by this.

The place was very cosy and the food was Ok. I had an expresso machine which was another bonus sipping on my coffee admiring the natural stream flow from my balcony. Tucked in away in a very serene location ideal for holiday rest or business. Room was exceptionally clean and tidy made me feel relaxed.

One half of the bed was worn and squeaky. Changed sides and and it was a lot better, slept like a baby. Could expand a bit on the food menu and offer more. This is not a dislike but looked like a bunch of live-in kids running around in the evening and come morning, same kids heading for school. Just weird.

I stay here regularly for work and was really pleased to have got a refurbished room this time which was clean, comfortable and modern. Food in bar is very nice and the staff and friendly and helpful.

The corridor outside rooms can get very noisy with people talking as they walk up and down or stand chatting. Other than that was very quiet during the night. Bar menu could do with a refresh as being a frequent visitor it’s getting a bit repetitive. Would be good to have different pasta options and different cuts of steak added to the menu.
