We would definitely come here again! Gayle and Mark are wonderful hosts- there is nothing you could want for in the Sentry Mead- they have literally thought of EVERYTHING! The rooms are tastefully decorated, have mini-fridges, snacks and mugs for tea and bathrobes. Downstairs there is a bar room with drinks and snacks on the honour system and upstairs a Nespresso machine. The downstairs lounge is comfortable and inviting, as is the conservatory, terrace and garden area. You are a three-minute walk from the beach and trekking routes. There are restaurants and shops nearby as well as a bus stop, from where you can catch several different buses to explore the island. It is quiet and peaceful, but wonderfully accessible to tourist sights and other points of interest. And the breakfasts are outstanding!

Nothing- everything was perfect!

Sentry Mead far outweighed my expectations. What an absolute joy of a hotel. The owners and staff are so welcoming and you are made to feel right at home. They have thought of absolutely everything. From the robes, slippers, Elemis toiletries, pillow spray, fridge with fresh milk and water every day. Cake, chocolates. Bed, water bowl for Dolly. I could go on.... Fabulous choice at breakfast. Mark & Gayle are so down to earth and Bridget is just a lovely friendly lass from Yorkshire. Nothing was too much trouble . The honesty bar is such a lovely touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as we're sad to leave. Would not hesitate to recommend this place.

Room with sea views. Amazing bath which my 2 year old swam around in and the shower was a dream. So clean, a fridge to store spare milk etc. plenty of wardrobe space and drawers. The bed was huge and so comfortable. There is a large guest lounge on the ground floor and honesty bar area. This place is really lovely, clean and characterful. Breakfast is vast, plentiful and delicious. My 2 year old really gorged out on a bowl of dry weetabix ( never before and never since) but I had what I could squeeze in. I went for Mother’s Day weekend as a single parent and was given a very large box of chocolates on the Sunday which made me cry! West Wight is very picturesque although driving around the whole island is an experience not to be missed. Loved this place, would definitely go back or even go to their new venture on the southern part of the island which they are renovating. As hosts these people know how to host.

Wow! This big corner plot Victorian property has been really beautifully renovated. The entire house is decorated with stunning farrow & ball colours. Our sea view bedrooms were beautiful. It feels like a home from home as you can’t hear other guests. the finishes to the bedrooms are super boutique hotel. The beds are to DIE for! The owners have thought of everything. The downstairs lounge & garden room leads to a beautiful lawn with chairs & umbrellas to have a drink & watch the sunset. LOCATION was exceptional it’s at the top of the path leading to Totland Bay. We had lunch at The Hut in Colwell Bay which is a 10 minute walk along the coastal path (you can do it in heels 😂). It’s a little Gem of a Hotel. We were left in peace to enjoy it & I absolutely love the honestly bar feels like you’re in your own home. 5 Stars & we would 100% come back. Gayle & Mark the owners are super helpful as are their staff. Thanks for making our family birthday celebrations so wonderful

Leaving the property is the only sad part of our trip

Breakfast was a great continental spread with a hot option cooked fresh. Fab selection. The rooms are comfortable and recently renovated. There is parking right outside and they can make power available for EV charging (for a fee). There's a lovely beach a short walk away and there's a lovely restaurant there too

The honesty bar was a bit on the pricey side with a high corkage charge. The charge for EV charging was unexpected - not unfair but we didn't know what it was in advance.

The breakfast was absolutely outstanding with so much choice both from a continental and made to order hot breakfast The breakfast room overlooked the hotel's manicured gardens, the patio area and furniture would be a great to use in the summer months. The Totland room was very spacious, very clean and comfortable with a good seaview. A good restaurant The Waterfront was only 100 yards away A selfservice honesty bar with a great choice of wines & spirits etc The hotel was only 5 minutes drive from the ferry .

There was a short delay in checking in.

Loved staying in this old elegant Victorian villa overlooking the sea and Scott’s pine trees. Cosy with old fashion charm but spotlessly clean and new-looking - staff were very friendly and can’t do enough for you but at the same time giving guests space and independence. I would definitely stay here again.

Nothing to dislike. Good to note that the Restaurant is for breakfast only, however there is an excellent beach-front restaurant just a short stroll away, which I would recommend booking and the fabulous hotel bar upon return for a nite-cap.

Breakfast was excellent, cooked to order and very tasty with a large selection with the best coffee we've ever had in a hotel. Rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, with nice little touches to make it extra special. Very friendly staff gave us recommendations for places to visit and eat. Has a cosy lounge to relax in, and a light airy conservatory, also outdoor seating in the pretty garden.

The beds were a little firm. for us. Car park is small so when busy gets full quickly.

Wow! From the moment I met the owner/manager, I knew I had made a great choice. The welcome and brief tour of the facilities was overwhelmingly friendly and the whole place was exceedingly clean. When we went to our room, we were not sure if we should take our shoes off as the carpet was so clean! There were some lovely little touches like the honesty bar and the free coffee on the landing outside our room that made this place even more inviting. Our room was quite small but it had everything we needed and the bed was super comfortable. The beach is a short stroll away and is fairly basic but also has a rugged attractiveness. There is a delightful little cafe/restaurant on the beachfront where we enjoyed a morning coffee but I would love to go back there for a meal one evening. I would not hesitate to stay at this beautiful little hotel the next time I visit the Island :)

I can't think of a single bad thing to say except that I wish I could have stayed longer than 2 nights!

It’s a great hotel, location and access to the town is very convenient, it’s in a quiet area and a short distance to the beach which has two excellent restaurants with amazing views. The hosts, Mark and Gayle, could not have done any more to make our stay more comfortable. Both are so enthusiastic about the place and the love and passion for hotel shows in the way they have done it up and attention they give to the needs of their guests.
