Great Staff, extremely helpful, Great breakfast. Location, I've Stayed in Winchester for weekends since 2016. Was caring full-time for Mum with Alzheimer's and disabled for 15 years,so I'd be given a weekend here twice a year.Winchester kept me sane.

Probably should have asked for double room,as the room was very small,I unfortunately suffer from Claustrophobia. I've stayed at the Winchester Spa,The Old Vine, Mercure and Winchester Royal in the past and been offered twin rooms never single, maybe they don't have single rooms as such. I booked online this time,if I'd rang direct I would have been able to ask ( lessons learned). I did find the cost for this small room steep.

The room and breakfast were excellent. Great location. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when the radiator in the room was pumping out heat on one of the hottest days of the year (2 silent fans provided, plus the young man came twice to sort the radiator out). The chaps who juggled all the cars around on Monday morning when we were ready to leave were also really helpful. There is parking for residents but it requires a bit of patience and manoeuvering!

We were unable to make the WiFi work. It didn't matter too much to us but the signal for the guest WiFi seemed to be non-existent most of the time.

A real treat to stay in the middle of the old part of Winchester. Just a 4 minute walk to the cathedral or the best of High Street shopping. We weren't prepared for the beauty of Winchester - so well kept with gardens, walkways and buildings of many architectural styles everywhere we looked. You can drive right up to the hotel and there is parking in the rear as well as a nice patio area. The food was delicious. We enjoyed the Wyk pie. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was perfect. We're old so staff helped us up the stairs with our luggage. The stairs were just a couple of short runs so we had no trouble climbing them. The street was quiet too. We missed out on a few of the historic buildings simply because we were only there one day and they were closed. Otherwise we could have easily fit 5 or more attractions into one day as much was right around the cathedral. Don't miss a walk by the river in the evening. Also near the Wykeham.

The staff were incredibly helpful, arranging taxi service for me at the end of my stay and lending a hand when I had some confusion with my electronics. The location is amazing! I couldn't walk one block without stopping to admire the stonework or popping into a bookstore. The Cathedral is a few minutes' walk away - everything in the area is lovely. I stayed in the Garden Suite, which was like having a little apartment all to myself. There is a shop adjacent to the garden area with a huge variety of snacks and small bites. Highly recommended!

The beautiful cosy, historic atmosphere together with superb location, a stone's throw away from the beautiful cathedral area of the town. The attention to every detail in my comfortable cosy single bedroom inc dab radio and gorgeous coffee pod machine, ironing board IF I needed it - utterly superb! Staff were polite and most friendly, knew it must be good as obviously on the American's English travel itinerary, all doing the Grand Tour!

Nothing really, car park was small but no problems with car and staff didn't need to move it as only an overnight stay but had faith great care would be taken!

This is a fabulous place, steeped in history with hundreds of memorabilia adorning the pub rooms with a real fire in the main bar. The location is perfect - a stone’s throw from the cathedral & the car park was a bonus. The staff are amazing - so smiling, friendly & welcoming. Special mention to Natalie, Esme & Lowri (sorry if spelling incorrect!) and in fact all of the staff! We were upgraded to the Kelsey room, which is actually across the road, & we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, especially that roll-top bath! The room was very spacious, clean and a large walk-in shower in the bathroom too. The bed was also large & comfortable. Complimentary toiletries, tea, coffee, chocolates and a free minibar fridge (water, milk & a bottle of London Pride.) Breakfast was simply delicious with a wide choice available. We also ate dinner here a couple of times and the food was great - my husband declared the beer-battered fish the best he’d tasted! Esme, our waitress was attentive, efficient & friendly. This place is simply delightful & we shall definitely return when we next visit beautiful Winchester. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay so enjoyable.

There were some creaky floorboards, but you’d expect this in a building of this age. Our TV had some signalling issues but did not detract at all from the room. (If we’d been that bothered, we would have said something!)

A charming pub in a picturesque setting. The member of staff who checked me in was friendly and incredibly helpful in showing me up to the room. The room itself was beautifully furnished, with modern facilities and a generous range of complimentary beverages (including Fuller's signature 'London Pride'). The bathroom was modern, spacious, and immaculately clean. The 'Street' room lived up to its title, with an enchanting view of one of Winchester's undulating cobbled streets. The pub itself was warm (both in its atmosphere and with its roaring fire, welcome on a chilly November evening), with a great selection of draught beers. The complimentary breakfast options were relatively broad and included vegetarian alternatives. I only regret not booking for more-than-one night!

As beautiful as my room was, it was rather dusty. This is nit-picking in the general scheme of things; all other aspects of the room were cleaned to a high standard. However, it was a great shame that such a simple thing seemed to have been overlooked - the only consideration barring The Wykeham Arms from a perfect review in my eyes.

The location was atmospheric tucked in the old part of town with glimpses of the Cathedral. The pub feels like something from Dickensian times & provides relaxing, warm hospitality & good food; the rooms were beautiful & provided everything one needed. I particularly liked the free bottles of water in the room & that there were a few car parking spaces tucked away at the rear of the pub; the front being pedestrianised- best of both worlds !

The shower pressure was not good in our room but for a one night stay this was a minor thing .

Lovely staff, made ne feel comfortable and welcome especially as a solo traveller. Superb breakfast and great location - very quiet. The room 'freebies' were a nice touch.

Wasn't the cleanest....dusty mirror and dusty seat cushion with hairs on...yuck. The nespresso machine looked like it needed a thorough clean as well. Room very hot despite the window being left open all the time. A little overpriced for what it was but guessing the area commands a premium.
