Holiday Inn & Suites - Barstow, an IHG Hotel

Our stays are always good, up to this point never a issue with anything outside of the regular.

I can say that the only thing I every had to say bad about this hotel is that, I am not 100 with the animals being allowed here, people let their animals are an acquired taste. Meaning I have walked away from breakfast seeing dog hair from someone clothes fall off in the breakfast area, people will pet their dogs at reception and come eat, everyone has their thing I just think if that is what I can see what is going on that I dont see. Now this is just what i find gross you might be ok with this sort of thing, but you asked.

Breakfast was excellent. Way more than expected. Staff was personable. I'm sorry for the loss of your staff person for whose family you were raising money. I hope they come out ok after that tragedy.

The only complaint was that we were hoping to use the indoor pool so our kids could swim late and not be cold in an outdoor pool. But the pool was extremely cold and in an air conditioned room. If the pool were heated, thus allowing for fun night swims, we would have really enjoyed that.

it was very clean! We asked for the top floor and it was very quiet except for a little freeway noise. The proximity to the restaurants was very convenient.

We specifically choose this hotel over another because of the pool, but upon arriving we found out the pool and hot tub were closed. That was pretty frustrating. The staff were not very friendly.

The front desk clerk Donald was very efficient, helpful and friendly. The maintenance man Alejandro heated the hot tub for us at our explicit request. He gave us excellent service which was very much appreciated by my partner who had muscle issues and really needed the hot tub for relief.

Motion detectors that turn the lights on in the middle of the night as you go to use the bathroom was not appreciated. This needs to be changed. The breakfast egg beaters and sausage were inedible. Thank goodness there were hard boiled eggs.

The room was comfortable, very clean. Breakfast was OK - not a big early meal eater. Found shaded parking since the temps were high 90s. We would stay again since the area (Lenwood Rd) is better than downtown with several restaurants in the area.

The AC kept coming on and off all night which interrupted sleep.

What we liked - the room was OK in general (it was big enough, it was clean enough) - the breakfast was fine (also scrambled eggs, bacon, etc) - many opportunities for EVs charging

- Nothing to mention, for what it is, it's fine (we didn't expect a very high level or premium hotel in general)

Great breakfast, hot, variety, fresh Good size room, internet worked excellent - had mandatory zoom meeting, TV stations great

you really need more plug sockets at the bedside for cpap machines. We both use them and typically scramble to find plugs for the machines. I brought an extra plug outlet with me this time, unplugged the clock and used that one space. Also, it would be nice to have a nightlight in the bathroom. when all lights are off in the room it is very dark. Trips to the bathroom at night would have less tripping and falling if there were a small light in the bathroom for visibility.

Traveling with three adults, two kids, and a toddler is a lot. We ended up arrive much later than anticipated because of traffic and an unexpected delay at departure. I called ahead to let the front desk know that we would be arriving very, very late and was assured there would be no issue. Upon arrival, the front desk staff was very considerate. Check in was swift; they had extra sofa bed bedding ready to go so that I could gather keys and bedding and quickly get into the room and to bed. The room showed signs of wear, but the property is also under renovation, so that will be resolved soon. Breakfast was just right for our group, with lots of options for picky and non-picky eaters. I had a work call that extended past check out time. The staff granted us a late check out. My family did some exploring but also hung out in the lobby when the outside got hot. All staff was friendly and very accommodating.

Again, some wear in the room that will be taken care of in the renovation. There were some renovation noises, but they weren’t noticeable until well into the morning.

Check in was efficient and easy. Room and amenities were good and as expected. A/C worked, there was sufficient hot water and water pressure. Room was very quiet, as requested. Convenient to fast food type restaurants/and chains and to gas stations.

Pool was closed on a day it was 110F but opened very late in the day. Also, pool was small and indoors-not a great fit on an extremely hot day. Soap in bathroom was rather sparse - should go with liquids instead of bar soap. Breakfast looked okay (didn't partake) although in terms of fruit I only saw a somewhat brown banana, a couple of apples and an orange. Coffee was pretty good, though.

Room was lovely, comfy & clean with plenty of room. Amenities around hotel fantasic, restaurants & shopping outlet. Check in was quick & simple even though we were early. Breakfast was absolutely delicious with so much variety, waffle making was so much fun. Decor around the hotel was warm and inviting.

Hot tub in pool room was out of action.
