The staff are as friendly as can be and make you feel like so welcoming to the property! The family are very caring and will ensure all your wants and needs are tended to for your stay. The accommodation was the first hotel built in San Diego and there has been great work to upkeep the hotel whilst keeping its originality! The beds are so comfortable and our stay was simply wonderful:) Love this place and will happily stay there again:)

The building is in the art deco style and is quite lovely. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The location is great - the bus stops right in front of the hotel. And although it's on the main road, the neighborhood is very quiet. Also, there are many shops and restaurants within close walking distance. Chula Vista is a lovely little city.

A family run business. Lowly people ! They are caring , helpful and very friends. Parking included is amazing. Good options for restaurants nearby on walking distance. Complimentary tea and coffee in the morning is very handy . Location is great if you have a car . Basically easy to get anywhere in San Diego. Non

OMG! I love this hotel. Staff was amazing. Karen is such a wonderful person super friendly and always trying to make you feel safe and comfortable. If you are Dr rullan patient, call her, his clinic is next to the hotel. I did a procedure there and Karen was really kindly, offered to go to buy me food. Actually there is plenty of restaurant near the hotel, you can take a walk, the neighborhood is pretty safe and charming. She also called a taxi to ride me to the airport and called me to check if I arrived ok. Dominos and 7 eleven is acros the street. I had diner outside in the courtyard, super nice. The hotel has a nice decor and you can learn about its history. Iam solo traveller but I will be back with my family. Nice job guys, hope to find a nice family hotel like this one in other states. They a safe Parking space and a bus stop in front of the hotel. The hotel is old but in a charming way. Pretty clean. Bed and pillows was super comfortable.

Great place to stay. Being there, let you understand the amount of excellence awards and acknowledgments that the hotel has gained through time. The hotel owners, are kindly giving personal attention to guests. Although the hotel is a piece of history, the maintenance is excellent. Wifi works perfectly and the location is close from bus stop and restaurants. There is a convenience store crossing the street . Good coffee and tea are offered every day for free. Filter water is free, so no more plastic bottles, thank you for that ! If you stay there, reserve some minutes to look the photographic exposition that decorates the hallways. Room super clean. Hotel has also a charming terrace. Congratulations !

There are a lot of places close by to eat

Having to go all around to the other side of the building to get to the door where are you could gain entrance. My room is upstairs there is no elevator. I am in good shape so it didn’t bother me, but someone else may have an issue with the stairs, and any bags they may have to carry up those stairs.

A wonderful vintage art deco moderne hotel that has kept a period charm. We were disappointed that they weren’t serving breakfast in the adjoining patio area but also understand that they were dealing with Covid restrictions. Lovely people who work there.

It was perfect except for not being able to eat breakfast. But we can live with that. You can get breakfast across the street.

El Primero Hotel is a very nice and quiet location. It has a warm homey atmosphere. Our host was so nice and helpful. We were in Chula Vista for a concert in San Diego. Its very close to gaslamp or the border. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you El Primero!

Everything was great.

The family that owns this hotel are wonderful people. The courtyard was private and quaint. Restraunts are within walking distance.

The room smelled a little musty, but I just opened the windows. A good cleaning would help. Maybe it was the A.C that I didn't really have to use.

Clean, welcoming, lovely enclosed outdoor patio, comfortable bed, quiet, safe.

Old A/C was a little noisy but expected. Lights & A/C shut themselves off a few times and just had to be turned back on. It was so minor I forgot to tell staff.
