We really thought the hotel was so pretty. The garden was pleasant and we enjoyed the outdoor fire pits. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. We didn’t have a view at all but that didn’t matter because we weren’t in the room much. The bed was very comfortable.

The restaurant (dining room at the inn) was really bad. I made a reservation for both nights we were there. I was actually okay with the prices being high because I thought the quality and taste would be great as it’s been for us at other high end National park lodges. My husband ordered the halibut which he took 2 bites of and said it wasn’t edible (not fresh, no flavor other than fishy). I ordered short ribs and only half of it was edible (the other half almost hard as a rock). I would have marked it up to a bad one time thing but talked to a guest the next day that had different food that was bad as well. Needless to say I cancelled my dining reservation for the second night. Great hotel -bad food.

The food is very costly at the inn. Typically dinner entree is $50+ and appetizer at the lounge area $20+. I would suggest stopping at a grocery store in Pahrump to purchase food, so you don’t have to eat every meal out. You would have food for your hiking as well.

The atmosphere and surroundings are just spectaculous. We loved the pool and - yes - the oasis and its gardens. Lovely bar and very good bar menus. We stayed for two nights in the casitas and not in the hotel room. The little houses are very comfortable and clean. Space is good for 4 persons (2 adults and 2 children) with a seperate bed room. The golf cars can be parked directly at the location so that charging icer night is possible. Look at the night sky and you will discover what „light pollution“ outside the Death Valley means.

Taste and quality in the gourmet restaurant. Price is not justified but beating in mind that you stay in the desert far away from infrastructure it is acceptable. Would recommend to dine in the bar.

The location and historical beauty of the hotel is why you stay here. The hotel bursting with character that has been mostly preserved, and it is very quiet. The fourth floor has a patio that at night you can see the Milky Way with your own eyes. The gardens are beautiful although since the renovation the company obviously isn't replacing plants in pots on the main veranda which is a shame as they used to be beautiful, otherwise it is a beautiful property.

The food options for our group were a bit limited at times and at dinner very expensive, but you are in Death Valley so food is very limited.

We loved our Casita! this is a beautiful resort.

Minor: Staff should be trained for the details- each morning of our 4 night stay we saw dirty glasses/dishes from the night before in common areas. Staff could have quickly removed those in the morning. There was water interruption on the day of our arrival and then boil water notices for the next 2 days. Staff was generous with bottled water which was very appreciated. However, given the situation, it would have been nice if management had given guests even a 10% discount or meal voucher or something- especially given the cost of accommodations.

Location inside the park was essential for a wonderful visit. The hotel was well maintained, all staff were very helpful, gardens, pools are all beautiful. It really is an Oasis against the stark desert beauty all around. Room 233 is on the very end of the building with sweeping views of the valley, enjoyed morning coffee and night time stargazing from the huge balcony. Be sure to walk the entire grounds and enjoy the streams, waterfalls, and pool.

Wifi is not very good, plan for this. Hotel should consider increasing capacity as most people use the WiFi due to poor cell phone reception in the national park.

Very central to visiting Death Valley places of interest. A very restful oasis of quiet with exceptional views of stars in night sky. The casita was comfortable and cool for a refreshing night's sleep. The pool was fabulous after a hot day's adventure and iced water with lemon slices were very welcome to stay hydrated. Mike is an excellent ambassador for the hotel with a good knowledge of the area and a very welcoming manner. Tranquility garden was an unexpected delight.

It would be helpful if there was more shade in the parking area for cars and buggies. Some cutlery and plates would have been useful in the casita.

The hotel is amazing; a truly unique facility.

The food offerings are lacking. I understand the hotel is in Death Valley, and yet, such an hotel deserves a much better restaurant. And I am not even talking about the insane prices. Paying so much for that kind of food is not an insignificant flaw and impairs the experience.

beautiful setting. u love a historical hotel

a strange smell between the lobby and my room. I didn't like the food in the dining room. we stayed 3 nights and they served the same potatoes and veggies with the steak, salmon and pork shop. so all three nights I ate the same potatoes. I would have liked another option. plus they only have one electric car charger. very difficult if you are driving an electric car.

loved the location, views, beautiful green palms and waterway snuggled in the middle, the quiet, the night stargazing, the terraces, the pool, our room and bathroom so clean and fresh, the refrigerator, the art and nooks for sitting, and last but certainly not least the exceptionally friendly staff!

limited food options and mainly upper end cost wise. signage to get around the Inn could be much better. it’s confusing.
