- Newer bungalows are a great addition to the property - In room washer & dryer - Light and bright with windows drawn - Semi-private porch - Ample parking - Easy access with multiple exits - Convenient location to dining and pool - Excellent AC - Good water pressure - Nice pool with ample seating

- While the front of house staff was excellent, some of the support staff were not knowledgeable about the property or lacked communication skills altogether - Overpriced food (recognizing that we are in the middle of the desert) - Safe was not in working condition - Non-existent internet

Newly constructed haciendas were attractive, spaceous, clean and had all facilities needed, including a washer-drier (!), ceiling ventilators and excellent quiet ac. It was a comfortable place to stay, escape from the heat of the dessert during the hot day. Excellent location allows sunrise and sunset outings. Stay is very good, but not cheap. Staying in a national park and in the middle of the desert, that was to be expected. We brought breakfast and some food, and had only lunches in the saloon, which was very nice.

Only two mugs in the room, some glasses would be nice.

The swimming pool itself was really great. Finally a hotel pool that really is swimmable for lap swimming. If there had been a lane rope to divide it he pool for swimmers it would have been even better. Great location just a short drive from Badwater Basin. The check out staff were really helpful and gave us some great advice on the best and most scenic route toward Las Vegas.

The staff at reception were not at all welcoming and one of the check in team seemed more intent on talking to a male friend that was hanging around reception than to actually check in the long line of customers in the check in queue. There was no oversight to enforce pool rules so it became dangerous to be in the pool with 10 or more youngsters dive bombing the pool from all directions.

I read a lot of reviews no good, but I can confirm the good quality about location, room, cleanliness, tranquillity. Obviously it does not exist a bar where in the morning you can have a normal breakfast; you have to go at General store and buy one cappuccino, some muffin, some pastries, one orange juice, pay the cashier, and look for one place to sit (out) and have your breakfast... and for dinner you don't find lobster and grilled snapper with champagne: you are in Death Valley, and burger and bier it's ok! My golf game lasted beyond the scheduled time, so I asked to reception a late check out (from 11 to 12.30). OK! And when I gave the key of my room at 13.15, they asked me if the golf was good! Very friendly!!!

We flew from Texas to Las Vegas and rented a car in Las Vegas and drove to Death Valley. The property looked beautiful and it had everything we needed in the middle of the dessert. The location of the property was great. We enjoyed sitting on our patio enjoying our morning coffee and a glass of wine in the evening.

We found out the day before a power outage was going to take place. The planned power outage was on our third day at the property. The power was off from 8:00AM to about 3:15PM. The plus was the power was planned to be off from 8-4 and it was back on within the time promised. The lawn mowing right in front of us while we sat on our patio.

The ranch is practically an oasis in sunny Death Valley. It's located centrally with easy access to practically every attraction in the area - We were able to check all items on our to-go list! The property is vast and the rooms are comfortable without being plush, there are plenty of food options and a convenience/ souvenir store inside. Check-in was quite fast and easy.

The room cleanliness & maintenance wasn't up to the mark - there were flies buzzing inside the bathroom, the switches were quite old, there was a broken ice machine in the hallway; there was a bathtub but the faucet wasn't working (the shower was fine). The breakfast buffet was filling but the quality of food also average. Overall it didn't bother us much; we didn't visit to stay inside the property so only came back for sleep & food, and that was quite decent for the price.

Lovely place in the heart of Death Valley, amazing experience even in the 53 degrees heat! The pool was great and helped cool off a bit, and the whole vintage style was great.

The aircon was ok but not that modern, although not much could have coped with 53 degrees heat (even 50 at night!) The food options as has been said in other reviews is the only thing that lets this place down and I would not go back because of it. Either a really overpriced pub (42$ for some pesto pasta!) or a buffet at 38$ a head with not a huge selection. Shame, as otherwise a great stay.

Location is the best thing about his hotel and was worth paying extra. Hotels outside the park are VERY far away over desolate landscape. Overall clean and comfortable and nicer than I expected. We prepared and brought our own food to avoid the crowds and expense of the local market and restaurant. Same on gas - we filled the tank before arriving. Our room had a small outside space backing to green grass - there were nice rockers to relax in and appreciate the view and warmth. The pool looked nice but we didn't use it.

The cost. It is expensive for what you get. But I'm glad I sucked it up and paid it. Staying outside the park would have ruined the experience.

beautiful and room was nice

the staff. except for one front desk woman the staff was like cardboard cut outs. they had no personality weren’t overly helpful and seemed disorganized. one front desk lady was unable to locate a room for us and even though there were several customers in line when it came to her shift end she closed her station and walked away not even telling her coworker she was leaving. we had to get back in line. the other lady immediately found our reservation and a room. the restaurant host was disorganized and had trouble getting guests seated. staff could use some training on personality and efficiency. the exception was the staff that cleaned the rooms and grounds. they were pleasant efficient and polite.

I loved it all. The weather cooperated and was comfortable (90) for DV. The room with the patio and chairs outside! The only thing I would have liked to be different was the bright light at the end of the building. When I stepped out to look at the stars, though it didn’t shine on me it was pointed out not down so it obscured my view of the night sky a bit and DV is promoted as a clear sky area.

See light comment above everything else was perfect. Well, not really, the parking lot, while big, was a nightmare to navigate and finding the rooms difficult because of lack of signage.
