The hotel is in a brilliant location and service is incredibly friendly and attentive. We chose a suite to have space for our two kids and it worked really well. The ocean view from the windows was stunning - just a shame this section of the hotel doesn't have balcony's to enjoy though! The restaurants are brilliant - from the coffee shop for early morning coffees and pasties to the restaurant serving brunch on weekends the pool area serving food and drinks. Guest services were super helpful finding bike rentals for us and we used the street car to get a ride back from the beach - much easier than carrying the kids up the hill! We loved walking everywhere from the hotel. Would definitely stay here again!

The spa is nothing to write home about for a property of this calibre and the pool area can get cramped when it's busy - we managed to find chairs when we went but others weren't so lucky. And the suites need balconies!

I liked the hot tub. Arianna was nice. The food was decent. Location unbeatable. Beds were comfy. The beach area is great!

I have to ding on the facilities - the elevators were a disaster all weekend (we got an apology letter but nothing else), the phone needed assistance to work, the iPad didn’t work at all, and the entire place could use a refresh if we’re honest. Also, the pool area closes too early — 8 PM in the summer?

The enormous fig tree is incredible! The lobby felt luxury—very open and welcoming. The Le Labo candles were so charming. The restaurants were wonderful! And the pool was very inviting and relaxing.

The rooms and bathrooms felt dated. And our room sat above an outdoor hotel event venue that had loud music until very late (after 10pm). The venue looked awesome, and obviously the room is where it is, but it didn’t feel like the luxury experience we’d looked forward to.

I think the parking lots should be far more secure as on our first night (and we didn’t arrive until 23:30) our car was broken into (as well as 2 other vehicles) inside of the property….luckily nothing was in the car bar one empty shopping bag.

The location was incredible and right across the street from the ocean. There was plenty of shopping and restaurants within walking distance. We could also walk to the Santa Monica Pier! The rooms were spacial and comfortable, and the staff really made it feel like you were staying in the luxury resort that it is.

Great Location. Nice and ultra clean guest rooms with views of the Pacific Ocean. Busy hotel with efficient and very helpful staff. Reasonable valet parking rates.

South facing guest rooms overlook a busy nightclub, with loud music playing well into the night. The hotel’s restaurant is expensive and with only marginally decent food.

The location is amazing, the staff went above and beyond to make out stay comfortable. The pool is nice and the beds are comfy.

Not really a Fairmont standard, the rooms and hallways are outdated and very old. Clearly requires a refurbishment!

Noise from the bungalow at weekend. Not being able to sit by pool people next to us on grass said they were in on a day pass which seems a bit unfair on guests as it’s a big hotel with very limited pool space

Gorgeous elegant, famous hotel. Fantastic staff, especially Chris in "the Fig". Beautiful grounds. Easy walk to beach. Great ocean views. Very accommodating. Fantastic Happy Hour dinner and drinks. Loved loved loved it! Would go back for sure!

The Fairmont Miramar is a top notch property. Our room was comfortable, clean, and had premium amenities - including a good-sized balcony and an ocean view. It was a great spot in Santa Monica to be close to the action, but not too much in the busiest part, so we could walk to/from the hot spots but still have some peace & quiet. The facility overall goes out of their way to ensure you feel comfortable.

For the price point at the Fairmont, it would be so much better to have a free coffee setup somewhere in the lobby. It's honestly a little frustrating to have to pay for coffee each morning down in the lobby when you're already paying such a premium, but it is what it is. Overall - the hotel is worth it.
