Love historic hotels & lodges. Front desk and manager of restaurant were exceptional in their customer service; very helpful and accommodating in my requests. Food (and I only had appetizers) was very, very good; excellent!
I knew I was getting a shared bathroom, but next time I don’t think I will. Narrow stairs to go up to the 2nd floor might be difficult for some. I had to get on my tippy ties to turn on the light over the sink in the room, and the plug for the hairdryer wasn’t by the mirror over the sink. Hey, historic lodge! It’s OK. Wished they had a full breakfast, instead of a continental breakfast for $25!

Beautiful space. Good location.
Very rude female bartender that told us off just because of few ice cubes we took that was listed in their brochure as available for guests. We truly felt embarrassed to be treated like that in front of other people. At night there were some noices around. Someone actually knocked on our door in the middle of the night which of course we didn’t open and they went ahead turning the door knob to open our locked door which was scary tbh. We hope it was an honest mistake but be cautious anyway.

We liked reasonably priced Lodge Room #11. Found the group bathrooms clean and available when needed. Liked having a sink in the room. Staff is wonderful from front desk to housekeeping. Loved pianist who played Wednesday night Aug 30.
Wish Lodge dinners were more affordable.

We drove in and the place was beautiful! I liked how close to nature we were - in fact the staff told us there were bear sightings on the day we arrived. We unfortunately (or fortunately) didn't get to be face to face with a bear, but even if we did, the staff gave us tips to keep safe. We came on a moonless, clear night and saw the milky way! Absolutely amazing. I wish we also stayed a few days longer so we could kayak in the lake right in front of the house.
Nothing I can think of.

absolutely everything was perfect. it’s a stunning location right next to the lake with nice walks from the lodge. the cabin rooms are so cosy and comfy and the log fireplace is just the icing on the cake. the kitchen was well equipped with everything to cook dinner. we didn’t want to leave!!
only possibly negative was that the restaurant was quite pricey and you can’t walk to other restaurants but not a problem if you are happy to cook dinner in your cabin!

The cabin was comfy and we loved the fireplace. Plenty of parking. Gorgeous spot across from Twin Lakes. Spectacular restaurant - I mean - extremely fabulous. They deliver continental breakfast to your room daily - they give yo a list to choose from. Nice staff. Just all around a really special place. We will return there for sure.
Well, the bathroom could be updated a bit. That was really the only slightly down thing. But, not enough for us to not go back!

The cabin was rustic and comfortable. It felt like home. The lake view from the porch was stunning, and we could just walk to it in an instant.
Our cabin had not been properly cleaned, as there was dust and old medical pills under/behind our bed. The fireplace, as I only noticed when I got there, was actually gas, and not fire-wood, which took out a little bit of the place’s originality.

The location was absolutely perfect. The view form the cabin was gorgeous and still conveniently located near town but got to immerse yourself in nature.
I understand that there wasn't AC, although a wall unit would be awesome especially since we travelled with a baby and it made naps and sleep very difficult when it was hot. If no AC is possible a ceiling fan would at least help tremendously as the box fan was not sufficient. I would also suggest putting screens on the door since I'm allergic to bees and had quite an issue with them swarming our patio and getting in the cabin. We wanted the door open for more ventilation since it was so hot.
