The manager, Andy, was very friendly and helpful. Older motel, but for us it was clean. Easy access to freeway, making it about 10 minutes to Point Lobos or Costco, and even less to Carmel and the 17 Mile Drive, with the Del Monte Shopping Center across the street.

The walls are thin, as you could hear a TV, coughing and people talking. But once our TV was on, or later at night, sounds from other rooms were never an issue. Could maybe have used a thinner pillow.

Honestly one of the best motel stays we have been to. The staff is amazing along with a very comfortable room, so we decided to extend our stay right away. We arrived in the morning just to dropoff our bags and Andy was able to check us into our room early without a extra fee. The cleaning staff was very friendly, professional, and did their jobs well. Our King room was big, comfy, had great toiletries, including makeup remover wipes, massage soaps, and shower caps. We thought the free water bottles, and granola bars were an extra lovely touch, along with the coffee and extra cups. The fire place is great! Easy and so warm! Nice big bed, private parking, TV, a microwave, fridge, iron, basically everything you need in one room! We loved the amount of different lighting in the room we could use too. Easy private parking as well.

Nothing! Had a great and relaxing stay!

This is the second time my family and I have stayed at this establishment. It is a bare bones hotel, but the employees are nice and helpful. Even though it is an older property, everything was clean and in working condition. The beds were comfortable and the location was peaceful enough to get a good night's sleep. A large mall is within walking distance, so it is quite easy to find food quickly. Also, downtown Monterey is a 15 minute walk away.

The bathrooms could be updated at some point, but everything worked just fine.

Monterey Pines Inn is easy to access on Munras Ave. Quick on and off Hwy 1 and near to the entrance of the Del Monte Shopping Center. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, and the exterior and grounds are just as well-taken care of. The staff was friendly and professional at check-in; the housekeeping and maintenance people were just the same. Check-out was as easy as dropping the keys into the box outside. Rooms have a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker, AND.... you can bring your pups!! What a fantastic value we found at Monterey Pines Inn. We will be back!!!

We didn't bring our dogs with us on this trip, but we will next time. So we'd love if there was a spot designated for them with some artificial grass maybe? We walked with our friend and her dogs, but there wasn't any grass around for the pups. Just a suggestion. 😉

Super clean room, nice staff and walking distance to a shopping mall with some restaurants. We lucked into a second floor corner room (I think #18 with two queen beds) so were able to eat our take-out food on the porch/hallway without impeding others. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine all great to have. This is a budget motel on a large street; rooms at the back are pretty quiet and it fully met expectations for this type of motel.

Really wanted a second chair in the room. Since the room had two beds it's intended for at least two people so a second chair would make sense. To sit together in the evening, one of us had to use a cooler.

I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. I usually stay on Munras Ave but at a different, chain hotel. this time I decided to give it a try to this property. The room was an average size , and had a small fridge/microwave, which is very convenient when you travel with kdis. The beds were comfortable and towels soft and clean. I was surprised that this hotel had daily housekeeping (which is a luxury this day and age, particularly after covid). Every day we came back to a nicely cleaned room. They even left us some cookies/granola/water bottles. A nice touch. I have absolutely nothing to complain about.

Great location, walking distance to shopping mall and grocery store. Mehir was a very friendly staff and the check in was fast. The room view is unexpectedly beautiful (trees), I stayed at a second floor room and I am guessing those have better view of the trees. The room service is well presented inside a bag which gives a welcoming feeling. The bed is very clean and did not smell like strong cleaning product. The bathroom looked recently renovated. The electric fireplace was nice for the winter !

The room was very clean, comfortable and inviting. We were welcomed pleasantly and were checked in without issue. The room was at the top of the stairs, so you could hear people when they got to that area. the windows are newer and kept much of the sound out. there was a small welcome basket on the table in the room and the fireplace was a nice bonus. multiple restaurants were within walking distance (there is a shopping center across the street). I actually almost did not leave a review in hopes that this gem of a hotel will keep its charm and lower rates!

Parking is limited... one car per room is not an exaggeration! it is almost a two mile walk to get to the water, which is a bit further than i typically shoot for, but again, this was a great rate and relatively short notice for booking. great deal; i (we) will stay here again.

Great location- there were many places to eat that we could just walk to, and the Del Monte shopping center is just across the street. It is also very close to the onramp to Hwy 1, and just up the street from Monterey. It would be a quiet place to stay as far as street noise. The beds were cozy and there were plenty of pillows.

The walls are a little thin so you can hear neighbors' TVs a little bit, and people who are noisy coming back at night. There was a bit of a smell when we first got there in the room, but we didn't notice it a few minutes later. The beds did not have an extra blanket, just the thin blanket and sheet,.

It’s nice to relax in this Monterey hotel. The receptionist was kind and welcoming. It’s a 15 minute downhill walk downtown or a 30 minute walk to the Fisherman’s Wharf along with Monterey’s beach oceanfront. You can ride the city transit to Pacific Grove & Carmel or drive if you want to visit Carmel Valley & Big Sur. The calm weather attracts tourists from all over the world so peak seasons tend to bring families, owners with pets, and visitors.
