Excellent location. Walking distance to the great museums and gardens in Golden Gate Park. Situated in a real neighborhood that is wonderful for walking. Lots of great restaurants, coffee shops, etc. around. Very warm and welcoming staff and we got great assistance from a friendly gentleman (I’m sorry I didn’t get his name, but we loved his energy) at the front desk for a dinner dining suggestion as well as where to take a neighborhood walk. Husband and I are in our 60’s and enjoyed the hotel and it’s large framed photos of old time San Francisco as well as the small nice lobby and breakfast/wine reception room. We opted for the “with breakfast” option and found it very nice. We enjoyed listening to the European languages of other guests over breakfast. This is a smaller, nicely maintained, cozy old hotel with lovely attendant quirkiness and character. More of a bed and breakfast vibe (in the best way) than an upscale luxury hotel. Perfect to feel absorbed into a real San Francisco experience.

Breakfast was continental but simple and had healthy selections Loved the complimentary wine hour ( which was usually extended if the guests were gathering for awhile) Family member of guests were welcome to join in Loved the old victorian ambiance but it was not overdone or fussy Location was great - right across from the entrance to Golden Gate Park. We walked to the Botanical Gardens, Japanese Tea Gardens and the De Young museum. Also walking distance to Haight Street as well as Cole Valley which has its own shops and restaurants.

Some of the front desk staff were inexperienced but it was over the July 4th holiday so the regulars were off.

Right next to the Golden Gate Park. We got a suite, which is great value for a family visit. Whole Foods is just one block away if you want to cook your own food. Decent beds, good shower.

Breakfast was kind of prefab. It nominally had everything, but nothing fresh, all of it from packages, e.g. dry croissants. I would have liked some more options for on my bread other than Philadelphia and jam, e.g. sliced cheese or ham. Right now (July 2023) there's construction on the lot across the street. They started heavy drilling at 7am on weekdays which would be enough to wake you up. We were fine with that (we were out all day anyway) but you might not like it if you want to sleep in.

The Stanyon Park Hotel is a medium sized boutique hotel located at the edge of Golden Gate Park in the Haight district. This is a wonderful location from which to explore both the Park and the fascinating Haight district. The hotel has a retro old San Francisco feel with many cupolas and large bay windows.The rooms are spotlessly clean with modern comfortable bedding. The bathrooms were somewhat dated but clean and functional.The front desk staff were extremely helpful, providing all sorts of useful suggestions. The hotel provided a continental breakfast as well as an afternoon wine reception. If you prefer large marble foyers and glistening chandeliers, this is not your hotel to visit. On the other hand, if you prefer small boutique hotels that exude charm in a world class location, this is your place to stay in San Francisco.

Nice old hotel Well situated in tourist area Quiet breakfast included was ok , didnt really like paper plates and utensils, but can understand why. Bus and train services nearby Good restaurants within walking distance Free wine and snacks at 5pm for 1 hour was a great idea. Good to meet fellow guests

Beds a bit too hard for our liking. otherwise Everything was great Would be nice if hotel provided more information on the local transport options. the cost, quite expensive but better value compared to others in the city

so close to the park! really a treat to explore so many aspects of the park. lots of easy to walk to restaurants and shops. This hotel is so quaint. it’s only two stories and everyday we walked up and down to our second story room. In five days we didn’t use the elevator at all (although we could’ve). compared to a large high rise this sweet and classy Victorian is the way to go.

not a huge fan of the actual Haight St. but the Stanyan park hotel is a block away and the true gem is the park!

LOVED THAT THERE WAS A VARIETY OF HOT BREAKFAST AVAILABLE-ALONG WITH JUICES, COFFEE, CREAMS, MILK AND FRESH FRUIT ALONG WITH BAGELS AND BOTTLEED WATER-ALWAYS

WOULD HAVE LIKED TO HAVE A MICROWAVE AND MINI REFRIDGERATOR IN ROOM, BUT THAT WASN'T A DEAL BREAKER, ALTHOUGH A COFFEE MAKER ALSO WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE. THERE IS NO ROOM SERVICE AVAILABLE, BUT AS MENTIONED NOT A DEAL BREAKER. OVERALL, WE HAD A VERY WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE AND PLAN ON RETURNING-HOTEL IS SITUATED IN A CENTRAL AREA WHERE THERE IS MUCH TO SEE AND DO!

We liked the location, close to the park and easy transport, bike rentals. The staff were very friendly and helpful the breakfast was very good and offered a variety of choices. It was nice to have th New York Times every day. The room was pleasant, clean and quiet.

Maybe the price per nite was a bit high, but we found prices in general to be quite high in San Francisco and we would have preferred a marital bed to twins, but that was all that was available at the time we booked - 4 months ahead of our trip. We also don’t agree that you have to wait till 3 PM to check -in and think it should be earlier.

3 blocks from our new granddaughter! Across the street from Golden Gate Park - location is fantastic! Breakfast was very good and included eggs, albeit hard boiled.

No drawers for storage, but management gave us a second luggage rack, which helped. Yogurt was provided but only the high sugar kind. Would be nice to have some plain, unsweetened yogurt or sugar-free.

Breakfast was very large variety, everything pre-pack, breakfast sandwiches on croissant with a cheese Canadian bacon some head sausage some head bacon all you pop in the microwave. They had croissants, muffins, variety of fruit, yogurt, granola, bagels, with cream cheese, apple juice orange juice bottled water, very good coffee! So the breakfast was substantial and quite satisfactory

We got the cheapest room in the hotel so for me to be nitpicky would not be fair. Considering it was the cheapest room I thought the room was well furnished. Most importantly, our beds were very comfortable! Shower pressure could’ve been a little stronger but what we had was sufficient! Really, no complaints.
