Best Western Plus Newark/Christiana Inn

WiFi connection was good. TV worked fine and bathroom was clean and A/C was no problem. Room was found clean and sanitary. Bed looked great. Slept fine during my stay. I even extended my stay until the morning of the 4th to check out.

Here's the problem. Found one lonely roach in the room. Need to make doubly sure to have regularly pest control monitoring better. This would have been ruined after spending over $600 for just 3 days and nights only to have critters crawling around. Best Western Plus needs to get better. My key card apparently didn't work a couple of times because the housekeeping apparently wipes down on the electric key lock and it erases the key card. Need bigger pillows.

Really nice indoor pool & a hot tub. Decent breakfast with scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, bacon, potatoes, cereal, bagels, pastries, oatmeal, fruit, etc. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is a bit tired. Paint’s peeling off, little things are falling apart, and nobody’s in a hurry to fix them. The hotel claims that only 6 people were allowed at the pool at a reserved time slot. Nobody regulates it. I counted 16 attendees at one point.

Very nice property overall. King room is very nice and spacious. Breakfast was delicious. Good location to many places.

Strong smell of chlorine coming from pool area even when not close to it. Not sure if it’s the cleaning supplies that are used or what but the room at weird oder when you entered it. And wish someone would have kept up with making sure breakfast foods were always refilled.

Susan, who made the breakfast Mon-Friday was an absolute Doll! That woman went out of her way to make us and everyone else feel so amazingly welcome!

Beds were slightly uncomfortable and the pool restrictions were a giant pain. Gym is I’ll equipped and unappealing. And the safety latches and locks don’t work as expected.

The Breakfast was great and awesome, pool reservation is a smart idea and a limit of 6 was smart. not a crowed pool. the bed was amazingly soft and enjoyed my sleep. my wife is always complaining on other hotel with bed comfort but this hotel she enjoyed. the staff was awesome and would definitely come back next time I am in Delaware.

that breakfast was over at 9:30. Maybe 10 am would have been better lol. but everything was great. no complaints

Check in staff was friendly and helpful, she addressed our issues promptly. I'm highly allergic to cigarette smoke and upon walking into what was supposed to be a non smoking room, our room smelled as if we had just walked into a smoking bar. After checking with the front desk that we were in a non smoking room and addressing my health issues, she immediately changed our room and apologized.

Upon booking this room through booking.com, I was not made aware of the $150 hold that was going to be placed on my card for any incidentals until we checked in. I think that should be made clear on booking.coms site.

The location was all right. I had never been to Wilmington DE before, and so I chose this hotel by price and online reviews. Turned out to be a few miles from my destinations, and so it was fine.

Failure to mention that there would be a $150 deposit. I would have been a factor in my choice to stay had the original estimate revealed that in advance. While the deposit will be refundable, it put limits on my spending "power" for the day that I was in Wilmington. I did not like the fact that there were no blackout curtains in my window, and lights from the parking lot and the morning sun were in the room through the window when I would have preferred a darker room at night.

I only had breakfast once and It was self serve). Because of COVID it’s understandable that breakfast cannot be served or have a buffet breakfast.

The air conditioning had an issue. It leaked sometimes on the floor by the rug and left a smell. It could have been from trying to turn on some heat. For two people the room could have been a bit larger especially since there were two beds.

Had to book for $220 a night (only stayed one night because that’s all they had available). The outside looked like a cheap place to stay. The lobby was nice looking but upstairs the carpets were dirty and warped in the hallways. It was quiet and presentable. Reason only one night there was a sports tournament. Staff was very helpful and reasonable. They take debit cards as well. All in all, not too bad in a pinch but Price gouched due to no more vacancies in the area.

If your crew stop what they were doing. There is nothing that needs criticism. We felt very comfortable. In the near future. U
