It was very quiet, not many people d/t rebuilding since the hurricane a couple years ago. The shells were abundant. Sunsets are amazing Definitely visit the ding darling reserve. We went 4 times. $ 10.00 a day and you can come and go best money spent

Nothing to do with the inn . Don’t waste your time or money going to all the beaches they advertise that are great shelling. We went to all of them and they had nothing compared to just staying at the inn. I did however get an allergic reaction to the no see ums They are no joke. Baking soda and vinegar was the only thing that helped

The lodge is right on the beach. It's a perfect spot to collect shells and for long walk. The room was functional with a well furnished kitchen. Well designed room. Clean and great shower. We rented bikes and we were given good directions to get to the refuge. The front desk is very helpful.

It's true, Sanibel has been badly hit by Ian. And it's sad. But on the bright side. There is no more insane line or traffic any where. Biking is a pleasure. Restaurants are reopening. And you are helping the economy. Beaches are great for kids. There is nothing we didn't like.

A lovely lady greeted us and explained that the only supermarket would close at 7 and directed us to the only restaurant that was open (food was amazing though). (Many businesses are closed due to the devastating hurricane last September 22). Unfortunately we did not know when booking about the hurricane hence why some of our scores are a bit low. It isn't the owner's fault. The pool was obliterated so we were unable to have that option. The beach was only 100 yards and was very nice, water was warm :) The room was clean and the beds comfortable, bathroom was clean, kitchenette was well stocked with plates, cutlery, pans etc. However, even though our visit was spoilt due to the island being devastated by the hurricane, we are glad to provide the Island Inn with much needed payment to help them rebuild.

Many businesses are closed due to the devastating hurricane last September 22. Unfortunately we did not know and were not informed when booking about the hurricane hence why some of our scores are a bit low. It isn't the owner's fault. The pool was obliterated so we were unable to have that option. We thought we would be eating at the hotel but their dining room is in need of much restoration/rebuilding. We didn't like the fact that the photos and description on booking.com were so inaccurate.

How to sum up this experience? Well it was worth the 2.5 hour drive! This hotel is cute and simple, with an excellent view of the ocean. At night, the light pollution is so minimal that the stars and planets are incredibly visible. Truly a sight to see. I believe that I saw more stars here than I ever have with my own eyes. You can even see the Milky Way. The people are kind and the staff are very helpful! I would recommend that you bring bug spray if you plan on sitting on your porch/balcony or walking around at night. My stay at Island Inn will not be forgotten any time soon.

The property was clean. We were celebrating our 54th wedding anniversary. Upon arriving in our room we were greeted with towels shaped into 2 swans with a beautiful note and 2 champagne glasses, as well as a complementary bottle of champagne chilling in the refrigerator. We had a view of the Gulf of Mexico from our room and a screened in porch. The landscaping was trimmed beautifully. The restaurant food was delicious and Danny, our waiter, was excellent. We asked for his recommendations and we were not disappointed. The presentation of the food was great. Our dining experience was wonderful.

Having a view of the Gulf of Mexico was a favorite. There is nothing more soothing than the sound of the rolling waves.

There is nothing to dislike about the Island Inn. The beach is just steps away and if you're looking for shells or fishing its there. The room was spacious and very clean with good amenities. The Inn was close to great restaurants, nature trails and more. Ken at the front desk was amazing taking the time to explain everything about the property and things to see on the island.

The no-see-ums were vicious, Be-sure to bring bug spray, if you forget, the office has it available. Spray well before you head to the beach and you'll be fine.

It was very nice, we had a great time. We absolutely enjoyed every moment at this property.

The property was under construction due to the Hurricane. The surrounding properties were under construction too, very noisy at times. (No one's fault)

excellent location, I recommend staying in the bottom rooms located as close to the water. easy access to the pool, beach. just feels a bit private.

only one thing the sand fleas very tiny can't see them, normally at dusk when you want to take that beautiful sunset picture and bam those flea bit you all over making it very unpleasant. but the resort sells a spray which I recommend and then you'll be ok. the natural spray works too if you don't want the other brand.

We love how friendly our desk clerk was. She was one of the friendliest clerks I have ever encountered. Her name is Tina. Her recommendations were spot on. We also like that it was on the beach. The restaurant onsite...Traditions had wonderful food. Our waiter Daniel had a great personality. I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing, laid back experience 😎
