Lanier Islands Legacy Lodge

My room had a balcony and the view was gorgeous. I love the restaurants on site, making it possible to relax and stay all the time at the hotel. The staff was great!!! John from Bullfrog bar was the best! Unfortunately we can't say the same about the hostess, who was rude.

Finding the hotel was a bit tricky, there could be better signage on the road.

Staff was outstanding along with the food, however, the staff when out of their way to ensure we enjoyed ourselves. I liked the darkness at night makes you feel that you are in the wilderness since they are NO light to be seen for miles..

The rooms where old and dated and need to be updated the furniture was very dark and bathroom very small and the shower was small. Those are the only things that I saw that could be changed to improve the experiance.

Breakfast was very good but expensive for buffet. We chose to not eat breakfast the second day.

Our air conditioning was horrible. Would blow very hard and when we tried to sleep the air would blow right in your face. We had to keep getting up at night and turning it on and off. We had to set it on 77 just for it to turn off but it would never come on until we lowered it and then it was terrible. I told the lady at the checkout and she said "yes, that room has a strong air conditioner". If they know this, why did they not fix before others checked in?

Clean room, friendly staff.

Huge resort with only one elevator, the grounds are incredibly overgrown with weeds- tried to walk the trail around the hotel but the weeds growing across it were too high. The area near the pool wasn’t well kept, dead flowers in the pots, the building needs to be pressure washed, the pool is very small for such a large, and expensive, resort. The breakfast at sidney’s was awful, the staff was friendly but the food was gross. I’ve had better breakfasts that were free at cheaper motels.

My husband and I came to Lake Lanier to get away from the hustle and bustle from our big city. It was the first time we ever stayed at a place like this, and it definitely did not disappoint! The Villa was great and spacious. the gas fire place was great for a night in while having a glass of wine. the scenery of the lake outside our balcony was great view every morning. It’s a big property and everything is spread out. We didn’t have a car as we flew and stayed in Atlanta a few days prior. However, they have a shuttle to take you to the activities and golf cart rental which I highly recommend if you are traveling without a car. Food was decent. Breakfast buffet has a good selection of common choices and the service and staff at Bullfrogs was nothing but great! Also, lots of great activities at Margaritaville for the kids. The front desk staff and manager were also great, friendly and ready to resolve any issues. We didn’t get to use the pool because of the weather, but it’s a nice big pool that is heated at 88 degrees during the winter season. We didn’t travel with our dog, but love that the lodge is pet friendly (pets only in the main building). Will definitely come back.

Lanier Island was a new visit for us; what a treat! It was incredibly quiet since it's the off season, but we still had a giant breakfast buffet waiting for us, and the rooms were spotless. The bed was super comfy, the staff was amazing, and we had a great time.

The only thing I want to caution anyone is that if you're staying in the villas, "Ground Floor" is downstairs - it is NOT flush with the parking lot, so it is not ADA accessible in any way. They're wonderful rooms, and worth paying for the upstairs suite if (when) we come back. I also would have liked to know that room service was a possibility, but at the same time I could have asked! :)

The breakfast was excellent! Jacob was our server, and he was super friendly and he had a very nice smile. Also, after I commented on how GOOD the music was, he said he picked it out to play in the dining room. The staff was very helpful and pleasant.

If the suggested restaurants were actually located there in the Lodge.

The villa we stayed in was very nice and comfortable. The food at the Bullfrog and LandShark were ok....a little pricey though. The staff their was very nice, informative, and helpful.....

The only thing I didn't like was the person in the villa next to us would slam their door around the same time early in the morning the two days we stayed their.

very clean and fancy. beautiful villa. food at the bar is great and not very expensive. great place with a high potential.

a little boring. would be great to have a beach access from Villa. if u don’t have boat , there is not a lot to do. Breakfast should be free. and check the sewerage near the big pool. there was some smell when we swam there.

Breakfast exceeded our expectations. Great menu. Pool area was nice, not quite big enough for resort. Bullfrogs was by far our favorite restaurant. Good Menu. Grounds were pretty. View was awesome. Room was not at all what we expected driving up to entrance and looking at the Grandeur online. Outdated furniture, not as clean as we are used to for that price. We ask to be moved to another room, but it was the same. Needs a deep cleaning. Walls were scuffed. It was something you would find in a normal Hotel room, not a resort for sure. We have stayed at World of Golf/Marriott, Robert Trent Jones Resort in Auburn and Callaway Gardens. It did not compare. We would visit area again, but will not pay the price for Legacy Lodge.
