Location is absolutely superior! Just minutes away from the beach, many restaurants and attractions. The place itself is very clean and looked after, friendly staff. Another awesome thing (for me at least), is that there is no physical room key, just a phone app so you don't have to worry about losing/misplacing your keys. There's also a kitchen and fridge available (not in the rooms), and free beach towels to use on a daily basis! :) Would definitely return if I'm on a solo trip to Honolulu again!

One of my dorm roommates was snoring incredibly loud throughout some of the nights, which was disturbing to me and other roommates. According to property rules, after 10pm it's supposed to be quiet hours, and he might as well have been playing music with that level of noise... I could've asked to be moved, but I doubt all three of us would have been for one person. Wish there was a way to limit snorers to private rooms only... but that's really my only complain, and it's not related to the facility itself.

Very friendly and competent staff.Rooms and bathrooms were thoroughly cleaned each day. I loved the international travelers I met. The hostel has a very positive vibe. Young or old, we were all curious about each other and heard great life stories and dreams. The hostel is indeed a very short block from the beach. Bus 20 gets you there from the airport to within a 30 second walk for a $3.00 fare. With the bus system the whole island can be explored.

The mattreses were old (but not smelly). In spite of this, I slept well each night. Cutlery and mugs disappeared at an alarming rate. Really, cohostelers, is this necesary?? We spend hundreds if not over a thousand dollars to get here. Please leave the kitchen stuff others to use. That said, I never felt any concern about my personal stuff.

The location is ideal, half a block away from the beach and plenty of lawn chairs, snorkel gear, wake boards. The facility also has everything you need to prepare for meal. Laundry is also provided for a small fee.

The area is a little loud and their free parking is about a 15 minute walk. I would advise to avoid renting a car on weekends as it was difficult to find a spot

great staff and great location. the room was large with lockers and large bathroom. the social area by the kitchen was also large. the kitchen looked ok, though I didn’t use it.

awful mattress, springs practically popping thru and no electrical sockets near the bed.

Amazing location in Waikiki, close to everything and with a nice gated social area. The staff was friendly; since I was just there for one night they gave me my room code on a piece of paper instead of through the app. I think if you're unable to install the app they'll work with you. They were also very flexible about checkin/out times, just communicate your plans. The sheets had just been washed and were soft and clean. I could hear birds at night and slept so well. Bring your own lock for the bedside locker and bring your sheets down at checkout.

I don't like the idea of installing an app to receive my room code. I also wish the beds had privacy curtains.

location was great, lots of activities, books to borrow, surf boards, snorkeling gear. security was great with the front door and keys/app for the dorms. appreciated having the ensuite in the dorm. bathrooms were cleaned daily. luggage storage was handy.

no hooks in the bathroom to hang towels, no aircon, nowhere to sit in the room, no couches or anywhere comfortable to sit in the common room, pillows were paper thin, sand everywhere in the room.

The Polynesian Beach Club was perfect for my two night stopover in Honolulu. The staff provided a locked space for me to leave my luggage before check-in, and in retrospect I could've probably just stuck around the common area and relaxed in one of the hammocks between my arrival and check-in time. The hostel had a relaxed feel to it, and the beach/shops being so close was ideal too!

It was as clean as any hostel can be. Rooms weren't cleaned every day, but it didn't bother me!

The locatioin is amazing, close to bus stops, Waikiki beach, stores and restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful, WIFI works great, check-in and check-out are easy and straightforward

There was no air condition in the room, so we left the door open which made me worry about safety of my belongings, though nothing happened to them in the end. The price bites, but everything in Honolulu is expensive, so this is ok

Loved the two minute walk to beach front! Lots of beach items to borrow was a big money saver for me. Chair, beach mat, boogie board, umbrella and snorkel equipment were all available! The communal area has plenty of tables and seating, There are four roomy hammocks to relax in. There are 4 full size fridges for food storage. And a large shelf system to store your dry goods. Just remember to label everything, it makes it easier for staff when they clean and for you to track what you have or need to get I was proactive in keeping my supplies collected in a bag in fridge, freezer and on dry shelf, it made it easy to track supplies and plan my menu's. I highly recommend shopping and cooking there at the hostel when staying and on a tight budget! The kitchen is well stocked with cookware, utensils and dinnerware. It is a small cooking space, so getting to know the use flow of the kitchen helps give everyone a chance to prep and cook. There is no real available counter space for prepping, but plenty of cutting boards and knives to take to one of the tables for prep work. Be a team worker and wash, dry and put away everything you use, pretend momma is watching, Lol.

The bathroom in my dorm could use a good scrub of toilet area due to male urine spray. Or maybe train all guys to sit for urinating, Lol. My old bones would have appreciated a memory foam mattress, but the innerspring mattress was definitely better than some mattresses I've slept on.

We stayed in a separte studio - so that's what I am reviewing. The studio exceeded our expectations- it was more like a hotel room with a kitchenette then a hostel accomodation. It was spacious, had 1 extra bad and everything was clean and functional. The equipment in th kitchen and bathroom was new and nice- everything you need. You can rent surfs in the hostel for friendly price.

downstairs in the hostel there is a coimmunal kitchen - sometims smells - fortunatelly it's outside. We wanted to rents snorchles - as advertised, but there were no complete sets- just some parts of it that weren't very useful
