Location: Excellent! Many restaurants close by and there is a ABC store right in the corner. The first 3 night we used public transportation to get around. The closes bus station is Kuhio Ave & Lewer St, there are 10 buses stops there. Parking: They don't have on site parking so they offer free parking at Hyatt Centric with 24 hr validation. Which is about 4 mins walk to the hotel, not bad. Room: Very comfy, lots of storage space. Others: Live music every evening, lots of activities in the lobby. The coffee shop serves really good coffee, don't forgot to grab a stamp card to get free coffee. Hot water and reef safe sunscreen available in the lobby area.

AC smells kinda moldy when running. Not very sound proof, One night I heard my neighbor yelling and fighting all night.

Excellent location. The onsite restaurant is very good. We were upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite. The room was spacious with lots of closet storage space.

The furniture was a bit worn out. The sofa in the living room didn't hold up very well to use and the cushion felt crushed. The AC in the room may need more cleaning. The smell was very musty when running. We were better off turning it off and leaving the door to the deck open - it did bring the traffic noise into the room. It also might not be a great option when the temperature gets warmer.

Very nice set up for this hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was great, clean and we had a corner room and the balcony was the same on both sides.

Staff should be more specific and explain everything about parking at check in. We were told where the lot was and giver a parking pass. At no time did anyone inform us that you have to get a new pass everyday. You then have to leave the lot and go back in to get a new ticket. We were almost charged for parking, 2 blocks away and not cheap. Fortunately we had over heard someone else mad that they had to pay and were not told that they had to move and repark to get a new ticket. Very Frustrating!

This is my 3rd time staying here since my first time in 2016. I love the "backyard" feel, cozy and intimate boutique hotel - so much better than the big resorts on the beach. The staff are friendly and really enjoyed the nightly music entertainment by the pool. Love the interior decor and vibe. The Surf Jack has always been my design inspiration for my own home. At first sight you might think, this place is too cool for me, only for Instagram influencers and young & beautiful people but nothing is further from the truth. A very inclusive place for people from all walks of life and ages. Be the diversity!

This is a very clean hotel for the budget. The staff was very friendly overall and gave good suggestions on the questions asked. Live music on most night by the pool which was great.

A slightly longer distance from the beach than I would like. The woman at the restaurant serving during breakfast hours was not very friendly. They didn't accomodate an early check-in. The food - i only tried the breakfast and the burrito was small and okay. I would recommend trying the Heavenly cafe nearby instead.

Great location and concept, the live musicians in the evening are terrific and the bartenders and cleaning staff were friendly. Also was upgraded to a king suite from king bungalow without request, which was appreciated. The breakfast burrito was solid, the morning coffee station could be improved.

The room and sheets were quite humid and had a damp mildew odor. We were on the odd number/outside wall, so the windows face into a parking garage. Waitstaff (morning and night) was very uneven in terms of being attentive or even friendly. The banana bread was truly bad (it seemed to have been microwaved). Because the hotel is pet friendly there were MANY dogs, and some seemed bigger than their owners.

When checking in we were notified that our room had been upgraded. Little did we know that it was upgraded to the penthouse suite! Absolutely incredible. It made our whole vacation! Thank you to the staff.

We are not exaggerating when we say that our stay at the SurfJack was the highlight of our trip. This hotel is like nothing else in Waikiki. So many little touches all add up to an experience that made our trip so memorable. We actually felt sorry for the people who were staying at the high-rise hotels on the beach! From the moment you walk through the door of the open-air lobby you know you're somewhere special. The pool area is fabulous with lots of little cozy places to sit and read, great lounge chairs (that always seemed to be available), a sparkling clean pool and a restaurant. Every night there is live music around the pool under twinkle lights and you can just sit and enjoy our eat/drink at the restaurant. If you have a room with a balcony that faces the pool you can sit out on your lanai and just enjoy the atmosphere while watching the surf movies they project across the pool area. Night around the pool was something we looked forward to every day. Even if the weather was raining or windy, this little courtyard area was protected from the wind and still allowed you to enjoy the outdoors no matter what the weather. The staff was fabulous - they always greeted you as you came and left and it really made for a welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable. The bathrooms are especially nice with a big counter and a great shower. The "extras" that were included that we really appreciated were: the free reef-safe sunscreen dispensers, the free towels that could be used at both the beach and the pool, free ice water for filling water bottles, free coffee and tea in the morning, the free beach bag you could use during your stay, and full-size bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. It's little things like this that just make your day better and help you to avoid spending extra money. The location is great - you are 3 blocks away from the main "strip" in Waikiki and along this strip is beach access.

The staff was professional and efficient. They upgraded me to a large 2 bedroom suite when I checked in which was amazing. It had lots of balconies and a good cross-breeze. Free coffee in the morning by the pool and they have a coffee shop and beachy boutique next door. Lots of covered lounging areas around the pool to hang out. It wasn't crowded on the weekend I was there, March 10-13. Bacchus bar is a few steps away. Great value compared to hotels in the area. Also loved that they have a hot/cold water station to fill up your water bottle and free sunscreen dispenser. Free parking was also a plus and also very dog friendly. Would definitely stay here again!

I found some wood dust particles in the sideboard holding the TV in room #635. This was very minor and didn't detract from my great stay.

The hotel has a great cafe on site. We like the small boutique feel of the hotel. Staff were very helpful and we were able to check in early. The location is quiet and very handy to everything. It's easy to walk to restaurants and catch public transport to places from the hotel.

The room smelt damp/mildewy and felt quite tired/worn out. The restaurant was not as good as it use to be in past visits and restaurant staff weren't that friendly.
